Update to my proposed plan due to discussion on Spacebattles:

[] Plan Build and Study
-[] Build Equipment: Chitauri Energy Reactor (Equip to Vanguard Armor)
-[] Build Equipment: Anti Gravity Flight Pack (Equip to Vanguard Armor)
-[] Study: Plasma Core
-[] Train (Tech)
-[] Upgrade Vanguard Armor
--[] Boost Durability: Increase Armour's durability by 1 Stage - Cost: 1 Super-Heavy Armour Fragment. No Action. 100% Chance of Success.
-[] Upgrade Vanguard Armor
--[] Grant Perk [HUD]: Improve Vanguard Armour by granting it the HUD perk, improving its tactical abilities and allowing you to interface with technology in a way that is a lot less… instinctual. Cost: 5 Earth Materials. No Action. 100% Chance of Success.

Cost: 4 Chitauri Crystals, 8 Chitauri Materials, 5 Earth Materials, 1 Plasma Core, 1 Super Heavy Armor Fragment

Very Tentative Turn 5 plan: Upgrade armor with Merge Tech [Marauder], Build shield gauntlet, Upgrade Shield Gauntlet to Full Body Shield (So shield doesn't use an arm slot), Social Action

Alternative Plan with social action instead of ability training:

1 x Super-Heavy Armour Fragment – Armour upgrade material, increases durability by 1 stage.
I think that's a (rare?) Chitauri metal/material, right?
We only have 1.
Doesn't seem wise to spend it on an upgrade.

@K1ng can we study the Super-Heavy Armor Fragment?

Is this a viable plan?

No it is literally just a chunk of stronger metal then normal. It's not part of the tech tree that you can study.

Also no to studying the materials. No write-in's unless specified

Okay, I need to go to work so i'm going to end the votes here. Ignoring the duplicate votes, the current vote count stands at:

Chapter should be out in a day or two.

Stark Tower 4 Results
Build Equipment
-Chitauri Energy Reactor
-Anti Gravity Flight Pack

Auto Passed.

Power flowed through you. Not that metaphysical kind that came from your power (though that certainly was a part of it). But instead raw, crackling electricity – enhanced by Chitauri designs – coursed through your suit and through you.

The reactor affixed into your armour's chest glowed purple. The power it put out (independent of yours) was comparable to one of Tony's Arc Reactors. But this one was made by you. This reactor synergised with your equipment. Enhanced it.

Especially the new flight pack you had installed on your back.

The new flight pack was better than the old in every way. Faster, more compact and so much more efficient.

From the top of Stark Tower, you smiled. In retrospect, you should've done a lot more testing before coming up here but something Tony said to you the other day had gripped onto your mind and wouldn't let go no matter how hard you tried to pull it loose.

Sometimes you had to run before you could walk.

You jumped. And then you flew.

As you weaved between streets and soared past skyscrapers one thought crossed your mind.

Now this is a real test drive.

Rewards: Equipment Built. Vanguard Armour updated.

Upgrade Equipment: Vanguard Armour
-Boost Durability
-Grant Perk [HUD]

Auto Passed.

While you had given yourself some new toys to play with (and what amazing toys they were), it would be a shame not to improve your armour at the same time.

Mixing in the metal was easy, instinctual even. All it required was a forge and a gesture. You had just enough alloy to mix into the entire suit.

The HUD was harder. Software wasn't as instinctual as hardware. Your power helped, significantly even but it wasn't what it specialised in. Still, it took something that would've taken thousands upon thousands of man hours in real life and condensed it down to a couple of weeks.

Wearing just the helmet, you looked around one of the many, many labs in Stark Tower. Your gaze focused on one machine among many and it highlighted across your HUD. Information flowed across your eyes about the machine. Material compositions, how much power it drew, its purpose. Things you already knew instinctively now put into words you could actually say.

You could work with this.

Rewards: Vanguard Armour upgraded. Check character sheet for details.

Study: Plasma Core

Roll Needed: 0/50
Rolled: 20

In a dark room, you loomed over the remains of a taken apart plasma core.

It starts with a Chitauri crystal. Set in the centre of a chamber, the designer used a mix of Chitauri metals to contain, amplify and direct the power generated. The power was then stored into microscopic generators. When needed, the energy was released all at once instead of at a steady trickle, creating the green glow you saw from the gun barrel. It would create a burst of energy far beyond what regular Chitauri tech would be capable of, with the downside that the burst would only last for a couple of seconds instead of hours.

You shook your head. Anything running of one of these cores wouldn't have a very long shelf life. A couple of uses max before it would need replacing. Which was maybe by design come to think of it. It was a good business model. Would guarantee that the customers would keep coming back for a replacement of their brand-new favourite toy.

Your power could get around that issue. You could top it off yourself using your own reserves without taking it apart.

But you could never, absolutely not use this against anyone unless you wanted them dead. You may have more power to spare then this core, but its output blew yours out of the water. A hit from a weapon made with this would be instantly lethal… probably. It depended on where you hit them… and if they had super-durability.

Still, you could use this for more than as a weapon booster.

Too bad the core didn't survive the experimentation. Would've saved some time.

You shrugged. Oh well, at least now you could make more.

Rewards: Plasma Core Blueprint added to Armoury. Plasma core consumed.

Hang out – Skye

Roll Needed: 20
Rolled: 89

"Don't you find this weird?" Skye asked as she used a chopstick to eat a chunk of the rice inside her takeaway box.

You tried to grab a piece of your own food (chicken noodle, if anyone cared) with your own chopsticks and cursed when the noodle slipped out of your chopstick again. You'd think after spending a couple of months in Japan you'd be better at using chopsticks. "Find what weird?"

"You know," she gestured at the surroundings. "Eating on the roof?"

"What's wrong with roofs?"

"Nothing, it's just every time we hang out it's on a roof." She snorted as your gauntlet covered fingers gripped the chopsticks just a little too hard and they snapped. "You want some new ones? You brought like five sets."

You sighed. "No, I got it." Screw it. You had already gone through three. Though the expression of the dude in the drive through was more than worth it when you asked for extra chopsticks.

A quick use of your power shaped a part of your glove into a high-tech fork. And yes, that meant it did have a laser.

You took a bite. Hmmm, delicious. Good thing you could make your helmet retract around your jaw.

Skye let out a laugh.

You slurped up a bit of noodle hanging out of your mouth. "What?"

"Nothing," she said, before letting out a small giggle. "it's just kind of funny that you can juggle three of those Chitauri guns but can't handle chopsticks."

"I can handle chopsticks just fine," you retorted. Just not while wearing the suit. You narrowed your eyes at the sceptic look she gave. "You know, I remembered when you squealed when I talked to you."

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well, that faded pretty quick when you left me on the roof."

"Hey, it was one that had an elevator." You weren't a monster. Walking down thirty flights of stairs sucked. Seriously, you knew.

Skye looked away, trying not to smile. See, it was impossible to be mad at you. "Have you heard anything about the people who gave the Chitauri Robbers their tech?"

Chitauri Robbers. The name had been circulating since you caught them. Not exactly creative but it got the job done. Still, it's a damn sight better than the people referring to the invasion as 'the Incident.'

"Not a damn thing," you said, annoyed. "And I've been looking." But it was hard to find someone nobody's ever seemed to heard of, especially without a name or address. The burner phone number you gave to the cops along with everything else you knew. But all that meant was that the number wasn't useful anymore.

"You need a break."

"Probably." You leaned back and put your arms behind your head. "They don't want to be found. And I'm not a real investigator." Nothing like Nat or Clint. You were pretty sure that if either of them was working on this, they would've not only found the suppliers, but infiltrated them by now.

You were spending too much time away from the tower as it was, but if you stayed in then you normally collaborated with Tony until the early hours of the morning. And some nights he kept on going without you. You were pretty sure he was only sleeping for a couple of hours each night. The Melter helped somehow. Guess it gave him something else to focus on. Though from what you heard they were getting close to finding him so that would end soon. The thought that Tony and Rhodey could lose didn't even cross your mind.

You know what, a break sounded pretty good right about now. You turned to Skye. "Okay, you're right. You got any ideas?"

The grin that crossed her face was terrifying. "Wellll, you know Halloween is in a couple of days?"

You nodded. "Of course." Was kind of hard not to notice, what with all the mechanical pumpkins strewed within the tower that changed faces every time you looked at them. Scared the shit out of you the first time you saw it. Though you got Stark back by painting his suit orange. "What do you have in mind?"

She rubbed her hands together. "How do you feel about trick-or-treating?"

**

A couple of nights later, an armoured fist knocked on a wooden door in a nice, quiet suburban street.

The door swung open and a middle-aged woman poked her head out, a bowl of lollies in her hands.

Behind your mask you smiled and held your arms out, a great, big brown sack in your hands, already half full of assorted sugary treats. "Trick or treat!"

"Hello dearies," the woman smiled and dumped a small handful of lollies into your sack. Giving your costume a second glance, her eyes widened in disbelief and she tucked a black strand behind her ear. "Oh, my goodness, is that a Traveller costume?" Not waiting for a response, she instead stepped forward and tapped her finger on one of your arms, each tap making a solid tink sound. "Is that metal? Look at that detail, you even got the patterns on the arms right." She gave you a giant megawatt smile. "This is the most realistic costume I've ever seen."

You resisted the urge to laugh hysterically. Instead you rubbed the back of your head. "Uh, yeah. Thank you, I put a lot of effort into it."

Skye put her hand over her mouth and her shoulders started to shake. You elbowed her in the side and she let out a small hiss. Every time, every time someone commented on the costume she did this. You were surprised nobody had figured it out yet.

The lady looked a little nervous. "Would mind doing me a favour." Her arms went up in a begging gesture, or at least as close as she could get while holding a bowl of lollies. "Could you take a picture with my kids? They're big Traveller fans and your costume is so good that it's probably the closest they'll get to the real thing."

You internally snorted. If only she knew. You opened your mouth, but before you could say anything, Skye stepped forward. "He'd love to," she answered for you. Turning to you, she gave you an impish smile. "Wouldn't you Traveller?"

"Uh, sure." You'd ger her back for this.

The woman went back inside. Faintly you could hear her calling out to her kids. Coming back outside, she said to you. "They'll be out in a minute." She then turned to Skye. "I'm sorry I don't recognise your costume, who are you supposed to be? Also, would you like some candy?"

Skye pointed at you. "No need, he's carrying for the both of us." You crossed your arms and silently huffed. Just because you had super-strength didn't mean you should be carrying all the loot. That was powerist… or something. "And I'm," Skye struck a heroic pose that she had practised for literally hours. And you knew it took hours because she made you coach her on it the entire time. In her coat and (unnecessary) sunglasses she looked the part. If you squinted hard. "Skye, Agent of SHIELD." Then she did a thumbs up. "And also Traveller's handler."

You rolled your eyes. This was going to be a thing wasn't it?

Soon after Skye's introduction, the sound of little feet running across wooden floors reached your ears.

The next minute involved a lot of exclamations involving the words 'cool' and 'awesome' but eventually the mum was able to get the kids to stay still with the practised skill of a professional cat herder.

"Say cheese," the woman said, holding up a camera.

"Cheese," you and two boys called out. You in the classic superhero pose, straight posture and hands on hips. The two kids copying in front of you.

Damn this was corny.

"Thank you so much," she said gratefully after the camera flash. Picking the bowl back up, she dropped another stack of lollies into the sack. "Here, for your troubles. Boys come back inside." She handed the smaller kid the camera and while they gushed over the picture, she gave you another smile. "Happy Halloween."

You smiled back. "Happy Halloween." Time to go. You were going to enjoy this. You turned to Skye. "Ready?"

Skye coughed into her hand. "Take us out."

You raised your arm in a mock salute. "Yes ma'am."

Moving until you were right next to her, you wrapped an arm around her waist and activated your flight pack.

As you started to float the woman's jaw went slack and the bowl slipped out of her now boneless grip. Good thing it was plastic or that would've hurt. "You- You're… actually-"

"Have a good night." Was all you said before you blasted off to Skye's screams of excitement.

Okay this was kind of fun.

Rewards: Increased Reputation with Skye.

I originally wanted to include Tony in the Trick-or-Treat scene as well (for the double whammy) but the scene felt fine as it was. Plus is was Skye's event, not Tony's.

If anyone want's to write that, consider it the first official omake bounty.

We're almost at the end now. 1 Turn to go and then its off to choosing next Narrative Arc choice.

No one expects the Superheroes to go Trick or Treating. Makes you wonder about the infiltration possibilities they could do in Hero and Comic conventions.

Tony would be like one of those Comic Book Movie actors that go as the Characters they play, incognito and all that.

Only because he managed to Rope in Steve and Natasha to join said Competition. Thor, Bruce and Jack are the judges for said Competition Hilariously enough.

Stark Tower 5
"So," sitting crossed legged on the bench, you looked over at an armoured Tony Stark. Even through the suit you could sense the smugness emanating from him. "Judging by the look on your face I'd say you found him."

"How do you know what look I had on my face?" Tony asked as his helmet was removed by a metal hand.

"Because you're you." You answered as another robot arm passed you a hot chocolate. Nodding in thanks, you turned back to Tony who was now fully out of the Iron Man suit. "So, did you find him or what?"

"Found, tagged and bagged." Tony said, moving over to desk and activating the display. Pressing a couple of keys, a holographic top-down map of New York appeared. Making a few hand gestures, the map zoomed in to an area you recognised as an old junkyard. "He was hiding out in an old automobile scrapyard."

"Not a bad hiding spot," you admitted. Taking a sip of your drink, you looked the area over. Definitely the kind of place you'd set up in if you ever wanted to make a metal forest of death. "How'd you find him?"

"Flight paths and CCTV footage. He wasn't exactly subtle."

You snorted. That prick? After that display? Not a chance in hell. Still, that was exactly what you were thinking about doing if you had decided to take part. Or more accurately get Skye to do you a favour. Skye's computer skills verses a literal AI. You wonder who would've come out on top in that competition.

Setting your drink down, you crossed your arms. "So, when's Rhodey coming over with a brush and a bucket of polishing oil?"

Tony pouted. "He's not. He gave the idea that let me find him so we called it a draw."

"Well that must of stung."

"Like you would not believe." He conceded. Bringing up a new design (what model was he up to now, the mark 41?) he gave you an amused look. "I heard you had a fun Halloween."

You rolled your eyes. "Yeah I saw that video too." After the fifth time flying away from a house someone had finally had the presence of mind to take their phone out. Thankfully, by that point in the night it was dark as hell and your flight didn't give off a light source so the video's quality was awful.

And you hadn't seen any chatter about the other person flying with you. Skye was in the clear. Though it would've been her own fault. She was the one that insisted on you flying away every time after all.

"So, who's the girl?"

Of course, Tony had a lot better tech then some kid with a smartphone.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Doesn't mean you're going to admit it.

Tony gave you a smug grin. "Sure, I won't pry." He coughed something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like girlfriend.

"I'm sorry, could you repeat that asshole?" You could give it as good as it got. It took a terrorist and an army of robots for Tony to man up. Rhodey was quite a gossip after a good workout, who knew?

Tony held up his hands but the grin on his face just kept getting smugger.

You snapped your fingers and the hologram of the scrapyard was replaced with on-loop footage of Tony getting blasted into Stark Tower. With sound effects and everything. Thank you, nosy reporters that don't know when to run the fuck away.

"Oh, come on!" Tony said, sweeping the hologram away. "That was a cheap shot."

You shrugged. "Whatever works, right?"

Tony huffed.

The next couple of minutes were spent in silence as you watched Tony bring up designs for his newest armour, and it turns out you were wrong. He was up to the Mark 42, not 41. You didn't know how to bring this up delicately, so screw it, all in it is.

"I'm leaving soon Tony."

Tony froze for a second and then turned around. His newest suit forgotten.

"Why?"

You shrugged. "I've been here for months already. That's longer then what I spend in most countries before moving on. I want to see something new." You had been getting sick of the scenery. The was only so many times you could fly around the Manhattan skyline before you wanted to see something different. Honestly, you had been here for too long already.

"Well, I won't stop you." Tony said. "But if it's the scenery you're sick of then maybe this will interest you." He brought up a hologram of Stark Tower. A few gestures brought up a bunch of different boxes containing designs for cameras, lasers and other high-tech security measures. "I've been meaning to upgrade security and I have a couple of ideas, ones that need the tower to be empty before I apply them. So, I was planning on heading back to Malibu in a couple of weeks. If you want, you can come along and then move on. I'm sure they'll be something you can occupy yourself with for a couple of weeks."

It was tempting. You hadn't been to California before. "I'll think about it."

Ok, last chance to salavge, and hang out with Skye for a while, and maybe walk around since we might go to California with Tony, last action I dont know

So, I was planning to upgrade our suit with the Merge Tech (Marauder) but didn't realize that we don't have enough chituari materials to do so. As such, here is my plan:

[] Plan Upgrades
-[] Build Equipment
--[] Energy Shield Gauntlet (Equip to Vanguard Suit)
-[] Train (tech)
-[] Salvage Battle Zones
-[] Hang out
--[] Tony

Something to note, that was stated on the SB thread:
K1ng said:
Though for the bottleneck on materials is a serious issue so i'll reveal this ahead of time. If you unlock (3/4) Alien Tech, you'll unlock the Synthesize action, which will allow you to create Chitauri Materials, Crystals and Crafting reagents from Earth Materials based on dice rolls. This will be a thing for all different alien Tech tree's obviously. Though you will need the corresponding point in their tech like you did with Chitauri.
Because of this possibility, I'm not overly worried about maximizing how much chitauri material we get this turn. I am confident we will get at least 1 skill point during the upcoming major arc, and so we are relatively close to being able to make more chitauri material and crystals.

The reason for building the energy shield gauntlet is because it is something that will always be useful in a fight. Additionally, we can upgrade the shield gauntlet to not use an arms slot.
We train our tech abilities because we are going to want them in the upcoming major arc.
Finally, hang out with Tony because he is a cool guy.
