Impossible Journey (Planeswalker Multicross)

Not... a fan of this chapter.

Not sure why the Black Hole was such a struggle/threat to the MC. I mean, I'd think his protections would have held up to it find compared to other things they have had to resist.

Also not a fan of the MC's spiraling self-doubt/delusion/self-hatred. Of him deciding to settle here. Or of his decision to wipe himself(the traces/connection of his existence/past) out. It seemed like a particularly extreme and sudden bout of Depression, and his response to it and the conclusions he made about himself were both wrong and unhealthy. Like Spider-man's "With Great Power comes Great Responsibility" being blown out of proportion because of his regret/guilt about Ben's death and him basically destroying his own life.

I'd have rather he settled somewhere else, that is recognizable to me... Like Harry Potter, Naruto, Mass Effect, Marvel, DC, D&D, WoW, BtVS, Stargate, Star Wars, Star Trek, ASOIAF/GoT, etc... there are a lot, I just don't recognize this setting... Looks like it might be Shadowrun... Which I liked playing, but never got into the Story of.

He appeared directly inside the event horizon of a black hole. His protection prevented him from instantly being scattered into particles but his protections are passive, they wouldn't teleport him away from the black hole. So he had to do that himself. He was literally facing an infinite amount of gravity shearing, its just that its really hard to survive that with even serious magic.

Yeah, of course, it's rash and unhealthy. He is completely isolated and alone and tries to bypass that by trying to find self-worth by saving people. His mentality has no foundation left to anchor himself, so his conclusion is him grasping at straws to not drown in his own loneliness. The black hole is just a catalyst for the drastic change he hopes will make him not feel so lonely. He literally has no social connections, even the summons he would call his friends chose their duties over him.

I know it sucks that I am trying to explain my writing in such a post instead of the story but the fact of the matter is that I am not a good enough writer to convey that properly, so these "WOG" are all I can do to explain that. Its why I have spent two months trying and failing to make it subtle and nuanced but still something a reader can understand. But I failed and said fuck it and posted anyway.

And he isn't settling permanently its going to be just a longer stay with more chapters devoted to a particular world. I have been trying to add more texture and verisimilitude to the worlds and I think that's going to take more individual chapters than what I am giving.
