Because the Hutts are wily and could be holding resources and technology none of the Remnants (Us included) or the New Republic has.
And getting those could be a massive advantage. Might even be able to convince the ones lacking loyalty to defect to us (Although I guess you could say that about ANY faction.).

It wouldn't be a massive advantage. To be blunt, it would be a waste of resources due to opportunity cost. We have limited I&S dice and every die that is spent on getting something from the Hutts is another die that isn't spending infiltrating the New Republic or setting the foundations to unite/ally with another Imperial Remnant. It is a matter of opportunity cost and I'm not seeing anything that Hutts could offer us that would be worth not taking over/allying another Imperial Remnant. Most of the useful stuff they offer us is low hanging stuff like smugglers and access to the Black Market.

Now I'm not saying that allying or infiltrating the Hutts is useless. I just don't think it is a good usage of our limited I&S dice when we have so many things to do with them. We would certainly benefit from investing the Hutts, but would we benefit more than uniting another Imperial Remnant to our cause would be. I'm also skeptical that we'll be able to take over the Hutts or get their greatest secrets by infiltrating them. Bastion has already proven that other factions can counter our infiltration efforts and the Hutts wouldn't have lasted this long without being able to keep outsider agents away from their inner workings.

Community Lore Nerd Note: The Hutts do not, in fact, have secret resources and technology the Imperial Remnants/Warlords or New Republic can't get through their own methods. The Hutt economy is best described as 'service-based', as they draw the majority of their revenue from independent smugglers and illegal drug mines in places outside their on-paper territory. Their lavish and debauched lifestyle is funded by their criminal operations galaxy wide. The only industry within Huttspace are a handful Imperial military factories of no particular sophistication and the moon of Nar Shadda, which is mostly focused on refining the minerals dug up from the planet's surface into finished goods.

In fact, the closest thing to strategic assets the Hutts ever had were the heavily flawed and poorly designed Darksaber and the fleet hidden in Boonta Hutta, which wasn't of any serious size and development until after the Vong crisis.
 
Ah, replace Hutts with Mustafar then.
We'll wait and see if Mustafar is still around first. They are losing pretty badly to Eriadu and at the rate things have been going, Mustafar will be conquered by Eriadu over the next couple of turns.

I would be more interested in Scarif. They are the most research oriented of the Imperial Remnants and will have most of the experimental projects and protoypes at their disposal.

As BOT has mentioned, it is being done automatically, which is why we only have three I&S dice to spend this turn rather than the usual four.
Well I did not expect that it would be automatic. With this being a planquest I thought it would be like the other plan objectives, and something that we would have to do or could end up delaying.
