Imperial Ambitions (OOC Thread)

I feel that there is going to be a lot of cultural divides that are difficult to cross for the Uelewa in the future. :V

Unrazi: We're peaceful explorers!

Other civ: We are here to conquer and pillage.

Umrazi: Well, that's not good. *slowly brings out guns* How can we focus on exploration if there are enemies abound?

Archon Fed. Marine: Sir! We're surrounded on all sides!
Archon Commander: Good!
Archon Fed. Marine: Sir?!
Archon Commander: THAT JUST MEANS WE CAN ATTACK FROM ANY ANGLE!

A bioweapon gone horribly wrong. STG-11 Fleet Division 3 almost got wiped out when an Anvil transport got infected with these monsters. What followed next was a fierce corridor fight inside of the Phoenix and the Excelsior to clear them of the bioweapon, then a four-hour running battle into the depths of Laboratory Zero to recover the antigen and the deactivator, then yet another hour-long battle up into the atmosphere before the Phoenix unleashed the deactivator. And when that didn't work, Samantha was forced to nuke the planet because they just would not die.

My god. That'll leave some scars.

The sounds dreadful. The [Friendship] between Heaven and Earth would never use self-reproducing bioweapons that are capable of speedy self-modification to overcome obstacles, nor would they infiltrate such a bioweapon onto another civilization's spaceship to bypass their traditional defenses.

Worst part of all of this was that it was Asgardian in origin.

STG-W00. A Special Tasks Group so secretive that even I01 didn't have a file on them. They were created as a section given 'free reign' over what they could experiment on. While a select few of their discoveries would be later used by the rest of the Kingdom, their experiments, and their legacy, are akin to Doctor Josef Mengele's experiments on Death Camp inmates during World War II.

Samantha has a phobia of all kinds of parasitic organisms now. Especially ones that are sentient. Because by god, those Things were sentient.

So, Cerberus?

Well, my galaxy has pockets of territory that have no space faring species in them, any ships that have tried to explore these dark zones were found, often years later drifting as empty, lifeless husks with no intelligent life of any kind on board, this has even left small holes in the memories of the hive mind, meaning that they were isolated from the hive mind before something happened to them that made them all disappear, and no matter what happens, the cause of these mysterious dark zones remain unknown, and will likely continue to be unanswerable until the end of time.

A particle discovered by the Usagi that allowed them to overthrow their previous oppressors. A form of volatile mega-particle that appears to bounce around hyperactively when removed from itself, generating huge amounts of energy and thus earning its name.

The particle is technically radioactive in nature, making it dangerous to expose, though due to its own nature, poisoning is difficult due to it dissipating almost immediately outside of a vacuum. The main use of the particle is in Usagi weapons and propulsion systems. While it is a superior energy source, it is also highly incompatible with oppressor technology, and the Usagi have not had the chance to perform mass conversions.

GN Particles!

Except that they wanted to take over the Kingdom instead of just promoting an Asgardian First doctrine.

And they eventually succeed in the future, exiling Alphonse and Hanna (who were directors of I01 at this point) when they got too close to the truth, and militarized the Kingdom further, pulling it into a dictatorship with the leader of STG-W00 as the commander-in-chief of the Asgardian Naval Service. Because Alphonse managed to tell Samantha the truth, she managed to convince the entirety of STG-11 to break off, escaping into the depths of the Ulmaric Sector with sixteen Planetary Assault Carriers, including the Valkyrie and the Phoenix, and countless other small City-class cruisers. This would lead to a final confrontation some ten years later, culminating in the Second Great Interstellar War.

The worst thing that ever happened to the Archon was the SU-588 incident.
It's the only thing the government refuses to tell the citizenry about.
At all.

Jesus, are they still in exile?

Meanwhile, my creature have to deal with mysterious sections of the galaxy that kill any space faring beings that venture into them.

No, right now it hasn't happened yet.

The current year is 2185. The event happens in 2192, with Alphonse and Hanna being exiled on July 6, 2192.

And exile is a polite term. Before STG-I01 was forcibly disbanded, Alphonse got a tip-off from one of his sources that STG-W00 was making its move, forcing Alphonse to (basically) pack up I01 and run. They managed to get onto the Phoenix a few weeks later, before they departed from Asgardian space.

On July 24, 2192, STG-11 conducted Operation : SAVING GRACE, simultaneously jumping their ships to random areas in the Ulmaric Veil, before jumping again multiple times until they met at the outskirts. There, the sixteen Assault Carriers, consisting of the Excelsior, Charlottetown, Dauntless, Spirit, Bellerophon, Orpheus, Pegasus, Archeon, Odyssey, Octavia, Atlantis, Pythas, and Celestial, of the Lion-class, and Phoenix, the only ship of her class, and the Valkyrie, first of her class, set out on the same path Captain Samantha Chase had taken some seven years prior when she lead the first expedition beyond the Ulmaric Veil with STG-11 Fleet Division 3.

Their journey is one of hope, for the thirty-thousand women and men that turned their backs to the Kingdom hope that one day they can rid their homeland of the corrupting influence of W00.

The Coalition was involved several wars, but none recently. They've just had to deal with terrorists.

Oh, and their galaxy has absolutely zero intelligent life besides them and their creations. Odd really....

The SU-588 incident was as follows:
Around halfway through the 19th period of the Archoinian space expansion, a new ship, meant to explore and catalog all things beyond Archon space was built. The UAV Domain, a massive exploration ship of untold proportions, rivaling that of even the Valor in terms of size. Due to it's massive girth, it required a massive mount of supplies to remain operational, and a equally sizeable transport ship would be required to carry the lifeblood all the way from the planet Epkot to wherever the Domain may be.

This supply ship was SU-588.

The details are widely shrouded in mystery due to untold amounts of censoring by the Council, but it is known that an unknown entity attacked 588 on it's way to the Domain on a routine resupply run as it made way to it's jump vector. The Archonian Navy sent the three patrol ships XK-39, XK-40, and XK-41 to investigate the distress signal. SU-588's communications officer shouted frantically for support, requesting that Marines and Enforcers be sent aboard to stop....whatever this thing was. XK-39 hailed SU-588 to get an idea of the number of hostiles.

SU-588 stated that only one aggressor was present.

The resulting communications were mostly shouting, frenzied mumbling, and eventually crying. The communications officer soon confirmed that he was the only one left on the bridge...thermal scans showed he was actually the only living thing on board. His last transmission was:

"....It's....staring right at me...."

All contact was severed with 588, and the ship was left to whatever fate may befall it on the edge of Archon space. No contact could be established with Domain either.
