I have a very strange Master (Star Wars/SI) EPI-EPII

Her eyes widened, as the blood began to rain down from the sky in a downpour that menaced to drown her from its intensity. Nearby, the skulls and burning sockets of Ferus and Darra's corpses looked at her with cackling glee, and as the unholy screams rose from the distance she could feel a massive tower of hatred burst high in the sky as a crimson eye shone surrounded by flames.
At first I thought this was a vision of the Warp but the part at the end seems more like Sauron and the land of Mordor what with the giant tower and evil eye.

Neat. Looks like Ahsoka saw something of revan in her dream. Or night caused her to see it due to his knowing about revan. Now what I am interested in is the deal that was made that has Barukka on the ship.

Hmmm, Ashoka should be able to eat sugars and such without getting sick, as long as there's not much hard-to-digest plant-matter. She just won't get much nutrition from it.

this is bltantly wrong if whe works like anything Carbon based... at least to the best of my knwoledge, she MIGHT have trouble with Fructose but Sucrose or especially Glucose should be fine, Glucose in particular is the basic energy storage unit of... literally every living thing on planet Earth

For Grammar issues, it would really help if you put separate spacing on your dialogue words. It is very jarring in seeing those empty spaces between paragraph when it shouldn't and see chunks of texts next.

Eh, reads fine on my screen and I would rather Shade use whatever writing style that maintains his flow. But I understand how the lack of spacing could get aggravating for readers who don't like it. *shrugs*

Everyone, your forgetting the most important thing.

As she stepped out of the door, her first thought towards the shower, she passed by a young human child she had never seen before who was eating cookies from the unscrewed jar on the kitchen table.

HOW DID THE CHILD OPEN THE COOKIE JAR!?

Everyone so far failed to do so, yet this little kid could?

Witches, Sorcerers and Shamans in the Star Wars Universe have always intrigued me because they can apply their Force Powers in extraordinary ways that for some reason the Jedi dismiss as "Hocus Pocus"!

In my opinion, any applied use of psychic ability is an act of Magic, in and of itself!

I'm all for a Witch of Dathomir joining Shades entourage!

EPII-Chapter Five
Chapter Five

Ahsoka bleakly looked at the kid who was dangling her legs from the chair, her eyes filled with wonders and curiosity. "Let me get this straight," Ahsoka said. "She's the next in line for the 'throne' of the Singing Mountain clan, and Mother Talzin wanted her to leave in exchange for moving her clan away?"
"Yes," Ferus said with a nod. "It puzzled me greatly, until I realized the way the Witches of Dathomir succeed one another as matriarchs. They either kill the previous matriarch, or ascend to the post when their mothers die."
"And...why would she make the kid of her enemy leave with the Jedi?" Ahsoka asked again. "Wouldn't that just make her enemy's kid stronger?"
"Because as a Jedi, she would learn not to rule over others," Ferus replied.
"Yes, very nice, but why did Augwynne accept?" Ahsoka asked, massaging both of her temples. "She had to know that -and you had to have told her that."
"She claimed that her daughter would return, no matter the Jedi training, and guide her people to prosperity. At the same time, Mother Talzin amusingly pointed out how if Augwynne died without another heir, then her clan would probably fight each other and weaken itself. They both made concessions to one another in order to 'wound' each other. Mother Talzin lost face having to move, and Mother Augwynne lost her daughter, if temporarily."
Ferus sighed. "Now, I just need to tell Night about this."
"You haven't yet?" Ahsoka asked, an eyebrow raised. "I felt my Master stir a few hours ago, and I thought-"
"I tried," Anakin said crisply, giving a sour look at his hands. "He flung me out before I could even get a word in."
"That's on par with him being sick as a dog all right," Darra said. "We can only hope he gets better before we dock at the Jedi Temple. He'll have to be the one to speak with the High Council after all-and convince them to take Barukka here in."
The girl looked up at the mention of her name, and smiled warmly with a light giggle.
"Aw," Darra said, "she's adorable."

Anakin shuddered and Ferus looked sideways with a polite cough, while Darra began to pinch the right cheek of the young Dathomirian child. Barukka whined, using her tiny hands to push the cheek-pinching Knight away. As she did that, Ahsoka took a deep breath and turned towards her Master's meditation chamber.
"Wait," Ferus said, a hand raised as he understood her silent decision. "Take this," he added, and grabbed from a corner of the room a long metal pipe which ended in a rubber band. "If he goes for the lightning, place this in front of you."
Ahsoka's eyebrows both rose in disbelief. "He's my Master! He won't electrocute me just because he's a bit sick!"
"Actually," Anakin acquiesced, "Night has only two modes. Sick as fucking hell and healthy. When he's sick as fucking hell, you don't want to be in the same room as him."
Ahsoka bristled, and ignored the lightning rod offered to her. "You're making fun of me," Ahsoka acquiesced as she stepped briskly towards her Master's doors. "My Master's not that bad, and I'll show you-"
The doors slid open, and Ahsoka balked at the smell of rotten carcasses that hung in the air as the light filtered in the inky pitch-black room that seemed to roll with the desire of murder and hatred. It was an agony to even breathe the same air, and balking, Ahsoka quickly closed the door and took another deep breath just to avoid falling on her knees.
"Gah," she gasped.
"Yeah," Anakin said. "I told you so."
"He's a Jedi Master," Ahsoka replied firmly. "And I'm his padawan. I will get to the bottom of this. And if he's this sick, he needs medicine."
She stepped back into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water, before popping two pills into the glass and resolutely marching once more in front of her Master's doors. She squared her shoulders, lifted her chin, and pushed the button to open the doors.
A large, hulking monstrosity of twisted claws and long fangs snarled at her from beyond the door with a long swishing tail of black chitin and a prolonged head. A smaller head with sharp teeth emerged from the head of the monster, who lifted its arms ready to attack her.

Ahsoka looked up at the thing and narrowed her eyes. "You're not scaring anyone, Cheshire. And seriously, an alien with a head inside a head? How does it even eat things?"
The alien-looking thing snarled and dispersed in smoke, the Cheshire Cat standing behind it with narrow, golden eyes. "Alice," the Cheshire Cat meowed. "You shall not pass."
"I think I will. I have medicine," Ahsoka replied, gesturing to her glass.
"We already took medicine," the Cheshire Cat answered. "For some things, medicine isn't enough."
"Maybe you need to take it again," Ahsoka said hotly. "You can either let me through or be pushed aside, Cheshire. Make your choice, but make it quick."
The Cheshire Cat growled, even as Mister Fluffles meowed and stepped right up next to Ahsoka growing in size and growling back. The two cats stared at one another for a moment, and then the Cheshire Cat broke the standoff and sighed. He swished his tail with a huff, and moved aside to allow them entrance. Well, more like, to allow Ahsoka entrance.
Her Master was sleeping with his forehead against the cool metal of the floor, a pillow over his head and a sheet covering his body. He had his eyes firmly closed, and seemed to be peacefully snoring away. The Cheshire Cat came to a halt right next to him, and proceeded to purr in order to wake him up.
Ahsoka knelt right next to her Master, and watched as he first cracked an eye open, and then the next. "What." His voice came out as a rumbling groan.
"Medicine," Ahsoka whispered, offering the glass over to her Master who took it, and tiredly stood to a sitting position. He brought his left hand to his head, wincing from the pain of the furious headache pounding away at his brain. Ahsoka could feel it drum through her Bond, and while it wasn't the actual pain, it made her wince all the same.
Her Master drank the medicine and closed his eyes with a sigh. "We're moving."
"Ferus solved the situation," Ahsoka said. "They wanted to tell you, but..."
"It's fine," Master Shade replied. "Whatever solution he found is...fine," he winced. He shuddered and took a raspy breath. "Are we heading back for Coruscant?"
"Yeah," Ahsoka nodded. "We're going to drop Barukka off and-"

Her Master's eyes snapped open with fierce, glowing yellow irises. Ahsoka stumbled backwards as her Master's voice turned guttural and low, anger bubbling in his chest. "What." He hissed as he wobbled on his feet, the ground creaking as the Force spun around him like a vortex of anger. He took a step forward, and then groaned, a hand to his forehead. "What did you just say?" he asked next, his voice calm.
Ahsoka's breathing was going at a thousand miles per hour, her eyes wide as she stared at her Master. He grimaced, and sat back down. "I can't deal with this right now," he mumbled. "You lot take care of yourself," he added as he dropped his head back down on the pillow. "I need to rest."
"Is everything all right, Master?" Ahsoka asked, gathering her courage.
"The Dathomir system..." her Master whispered, "within the heart of its nebula..." he coughed lightly. "There is a bubbling pool of rage. It's...It's called the Dathomir's Vitality. I thought using Taozin nodules would keep us out of sight-it worked, but I used too much and it felt us." Her Master chuckled. "It felt me. We should be...we should be fine once we leave the system. It will just take me...some time."
"Master," Ahsoka began, "Can...can I help?"
Master Shade beckoned her closer with his right hand, and when she neared her face enough, he patted her forehead once. "Just make sure Anakin gets us back to Coruscant in one piece, padawan."
He closed his eyes and dropped his hand on his chest afterwards, his breathing evening out as he fell asleep once more.
Ahsoka stepped out of the meditation chamber with a sigh and a flat gaze towards the trio of Jedi Knight who looked at her with a hope-filled expression. "He said to make sure Knight Skywalker gets us back to Coruscant in one piece."
"Did you tell him about the diplomatic solution?" Ferus asked, and exhaled in relief once Ahsoka nodded.
Rolling her eyes, Ahsoka looked down at the three years old who had meanwhile stepped right next to her. "Do you want to play?" the girl asked with wide doe-like eyes.

Ahsoka realized that she had been unofficially assigned the role of caretaker the moment she looked back up to find all the other Knights busy elsewhere. Grumbling to herself about 'patience' and 'Master Shade will hear of this when he gets better', Ahsoka nodded to the young girl and grabbed hold of her hand to bring her to the cargo bay, where there was more than enough space -and crates- to play tag and stuff like hide and seek.
Kids liked to play tag, right?

Master Shade stepped out of his meditation chamber once the ship was already in the process of landing on Coruscant. His face was slightly gaunt, and his eyes were dug deep into his sockets -it was as if he hadn't slept a wink. He felt calmer, calmer than before, but there was something off about him that put Ahsoka on high alert. It was as if he had become a spring just waiting for the right moment to uncoil.
"I'll speak with the High Council," Master Shade said crisply. "Seriously," he added. "You are all in so much trouble," he muttered under his breath as he briskly stepped past all of them, fists clenched and eyes narrow. "Padawan, hold on to Barukka and follow me. The rest of you is dismissed."
Ahsoka winced as she ended up following her Master all the way through the temple, and come to a halt outside the large doors of the Jedi Council, which Master Shade walked past and closed behind him. Barukka looked up at the Togruta with a curious expression.
"Why are we here?" she asked.
"This...This is the Jedi Temple," Ahsoka replied. "It's where people who are strong in the Force come to train."
"Oh," Barukka said, and looked down at the floor for a moment. "Is my mommy here?"
Ahsoka winced. "No, she's back on Dathomir."
"I want my mom," the child said.
"It's going to be all right," Ahsoka said, kneeling down to be at the same height as the kid, her hands gently placed on the girl's shoulders. "The man who went inside right now is my Master, and he's very kind. He'll fix everything."
Barukka looked at the doors and then back at Ahsoka, straight in the eyes. Damn, it was unfair to have such blue eyes. She understood now her Master's weakness for the 'Doe Eyes'.

A few minutes later the doors of the Jedi High Council opened as Master Kenobi stepped outside with a comforting smile on his face. "Well," he said. "How about you come in with me, young miss?" Barukka looked up at Master Kenobi, and then at Ahsoka, who nodded back and gingerly gave her a pat on the head.
"It's going to be all right, go on," Ahsoka said.
Oh damn.
She was becoming her Master.
Master Kenobi grinned at the display, and disappeared past the doors together with Barukka. Ahsoka found herself waiting in front of the doors, her eyes nervously glancing at both sides of the hallway. She hadn't been told to leave, so she was going to wait for her Master to pop out of the doors of the Council Chambers any moment and tell her she was free to go. Her Master didn't appear for over an hour, and when the doors opened once more, it was to Master Kenobi taking Barukka out. The young child had puffy, red eyes and looked as if she had cried a river and was just then spent.
Ahsoka winced in sympathy. She knew of some very young kids who would throw tantrums at first in the hope of being sent back home, only to realize it was futile and 'grow up'. Then again, becoming a Jedi wasn't compulsory. It required the parents' consent at the very least.
"They're expecting you, padawan," Master Kenobi said, even as he gestured for a nearby Jedi to take Barukka from him -and probably bring her into her assigned clan within the Jedi Temple.
"Me?" Ahsoka asked as she looked at the doors, Master Kenobi waiting patiently behind her.
"Indeed," Master Kenobi acquiesced. Ahsoka stepped through the doors and into the Jedi High Council's chambers, overlooking Coruscant' and its never-asleep traffic. The High Council wasn't complete, maybe a Jedi out to 'iron the kinks' of the peace deal throughout the galaxy. Yet there were enough to make Ahsoka nervous. Her Master was among them, sitting in the far left corner with a sickly expression.
"Now child, nervous be not," Master Yoda spoke crisply.
"Indeed, young she is," Master Yaddle added. "Sure that ready is she?"
"Of all the trials," Master Shade spoke crisply, "That are valued and set upon the Padawan to become a Knight, she has demonstrated her ability in all of them. Insight. Skill. Courage. Spirit. Flesh."
"The Council as a whole will decide that," Master Mace Windu spoke. "Padawan Tano," the Jedi Master said. "Your Master told us you are ready to take the trials for knighthood."
Ahsoka's breathing hitched. Her? Ready? She had been learning under Master Shade for just a few months! Six, maybe, or maybe a bit more or less! She'd be the youngest Knight ever if that was true, but-
"I-I don't feel ready yet, Masters," Ahsoka replied. "It...It is a honor, but I'm not ready."
"Decide that, we will too," Master Yoda acquiesced. "A mission, give you we will, Padawan."

Her Master coughed from his corner, a small rasp that soon died out. Ahsoka glanced worriedly at him, but he simply cleared his throat, and thus the Togruta's eyes returned their full attention to Master Yoda.
"With Knight Skywalker, far you will travel. To Tatooine you will head. Knight Skywalker more will know. Dismissed you are, padawan."
Ahsoka faltered -she had expected something more, but all things said, she could always ambush her Master once out of there and ask him in person.
She bowed, and stepped outside.
She sat down on the bench directly in front of the High Council's doors, and waited.
Mister Fluffles meowed and climbed on her lap, and as she gingerly caressed the back of its head, she mumbled a soft, humming song.
It was starting to become a pattern. Her Master seemed always so intent on pushing her away whenever something was about to happen, and she was growing weary of it. She was going to plant her feet down and force him to confront her, even if she had to wait there until the end of the world.
Ahsoka wasn't stupid. Her Master was hiding something, something on par with Sidious being Chancellor Palpatine, something dangerous as much as, if not even more than that. To hell with conquering curiosity.
To hell with letting things be.
She had to do the right thing, even if her Master didn't wish for it.
"I'm not going to let him risk his life again alone, Mister Fluffles," Ahsoka whispered.
"Who is risking his life now?" a familiar voice asked, and Ahsoka turned her head to gaze at Barriss Offee, the Mirialan padawan looking back at her with a worried expression. "May I help you, Padawan Tano?"
"Oh," Ahsoka said. "I-Well. Barriss. It's a surprise to see you."
It was.

She hadn't seen nor heard head or tails of the Mirialan since the brief stint on Geonosis with the droid factory. Barriss merely smiled.
"I have been going on many missions, trying to improve myself. Now that peace is finally back, the Jedi Order can return to its glorious origins of diplomacy and peacekeeping. I, well, I couldn't help but overhear, and if you wish to speak with someone-"
Ahsoka hesitated only briefly. Well, Barriss was a padawan like her, but she had been one for way longer, so maybe she'd be able to counsel her better. She was pretty sure all of the other Jedi Knights she knew would tell her to go for it, no questions asked.
She wasn't ready however, so...
She decided she'd give talking with Barriss a shot.

What was the worst that could happen, after all?

I still, I still highlight the text when I read a Shade-chapter. Haven't found anything yet, but I know I will. Just gotta be patient.

I am mildly torn between believing that Barriss is actually honest about thinking the Jedi's origin is in peacekeeping/diplomacy, or if she is being sarcastic. Given the character, I can honestly believe either one.

But then, the entire Temple is kinda messed in the head from being screwed with by the Palpatine for the last few decades, and the many years of 'peace' before that...

I wonder how Night is going to dodge her questions this time?
