I probably shouldn't be surprised, but Plan: Fisticuffs Diplomacy appears to have won. Votes locked, this post'll be used as the dice rollin' post.
You subvocalize a word and your zero point energy field dissipates dropping you into the local planet's gravitational embrace.
In other words, you fall. With another word, thrusters kick in and propel you foward. You take a classic superhero pose, one gauntleted hand stretched out before you in a fist, the other at your side, dark mantle streaming behind your back. This isn't the smart move, necessarily, but it sure as hell is going to be satisfying. Besides, if you did smart things all the time, you would never have bothered to conquer the world, let alone go on this harebrained scheme to conquer the multiverse.
You can see him reacting. He's not great, but to shift to defensive casting while you're rocketing towards him at uh - 200 hps? something like that - that deserves some kudos. You show your appreciation by giving him a shiner right on the jaw. It's a real beauty: you see a tooth go flying, and his glasses are knocked askew, falling to the ground earth. He spirals away in one direction, his glasses another.
A ring in his hand - for some odd reason not attached to his finger - goes flying away as well. You reach out for the fallen objects, your visor's readout making it obvious where they are, and their probabilistic threat assessments, and catch them and toss them into a dimensional sampling pot for further analysis. Elsewhere, Frog-Face catches himself, heaving himself up with desperate wingbeats.
"I am," you begin, fighting the urge to slick your hair back.
"_____ _____ _______!" he says, in a voice that's not a croak.
Huh. Foreign language. Gnarly complication, that.
Oh and he's got some sort of mind-voice mojo going on. Well, it's nothing to you, but that's not usually a good guy ability. You reassess your evaluation of him as one of the white hats.
He tries to teleport.
It's a close thing - you wouldn't have gotten him if his missing tooth hadn't slurred his spellcasting. You lay down a dimensional anchor and the area locks down, magically speaking.
"Well, this speaking thing probably isn't going to work," you complain. Your eyes light up. "But that's fine, all that means is I need to do is-"
[] "kill you and do a brain scan!" (fight to the death) +60 bonus
[] "beat you up and do a brain scan!" (continue the fight!) +40 bonus
[] "take you with me! Unconscious, of course." (continue the fight, then kidnap him) +40 bonus
[] "Run away! Muahahahahahaha!" (flee and run off elsewhere)
You could just speak to him for like ten minutes and let your automated program try to do some linguistic backtracking, but where'd be the fun in that?
Plus, you're ninety percent sure that the two of you are going to have company in about thirty seconds, so whatever you do, you better do it fast.
