    ... It was noted by Sakura that the trip took longer than it should have when she and Homura tried to go there.

    Although I'm not sure whether she gave a number. I admit, it has been a while since I watched it. Mhm. Time to check.

    Starting from 32:20 minutes...

    Okay. So Kyouko asked Homura to buy her dinner in a ramen shop. Homura agreed and then we see them on the bus for "Kazamino North Entrance"* with the sunset in the background. After the part where the bus goes right instead of left, we see H&K on the Mitakihara bus station with the sunset still in the background, no major changes.

    "What the hell is going on?"

    "This time, we'll go on foot. If we walk back to that crossroads and take the left fork, we should reach Kazamino City, right?"

    "Yeah."


    "Hey... Was it really this far to the crossroads?"

    "No. It's very strange that we haven't reached it by now."


    "N-no way."

    "Neither of us is absent-minded enough to have missed such a large crossroads, right?"

    • It is unknown where is the exact location of Kazamino City, however, there are some clues as to its possible location. According to the Madoka Magica Portable game, there's a strong possibility that Kazamino City shares a border with Mitakihara City's eastern border:
      • When Kyoko arrives to Mitakihara in the anime series, she is watching over the city from a location that in the Madoka Portable game locations is noted as Observation Tower. On the map, it's located to the east of Mitakihara. In the anime and in the game, it's the place where Kyoko observes Sayaka listening to Kyousuke play the violin on the roof of the hospital.
    • The Madoka game's world map shows that the church is located to the east, either on the edge of Mitakihara City or in Kazamino City. This could mean that Mitakihara and Kazamino share a border within that area of the map. An industrial area is located on the eastern part of the city, which is not far from the Sakura Church. In the game and possibly in the drama CD, the witch and Kyoko both likely came from the east or southeast direction when they meet Mami for the first time.

However, it was far enough that Kyoko mentions she is entering another magical girl's territory in Mitakihara. A teacher indicates that Madoka's class is taking a tour of the automobile factory, which is also where Kyoko locates the witch she's pursuing. One possible location of such a factory would be within the industrial area. The game does not indicate the locations of past events that occur between Mami and Kyoko, as their interactions in multiple locations are shown in one flashback.
      • If this were the case, then at least the northeastern part of the game map would be part of Mitakihara. However, cities typically have more than one industrial area.
    • There is a question of whether Sakura Church is located in Kazamino City. In the anime series, it is assumed that the church is located within Mitakihara. However, Kyoko states in the the Drama CD that she is from Kazamino, implying that the church would be within that city. The game leaves it ambiguous as to its location.
      • Kyoko mentions in the game that the church would be in danger of being destroyed by Walpurgis. If this is the case, then Walpurgis's scope of destruction would go beyond Mitakihara and into at least part of Kazamino.

    So it's up to the author as to how close they are. It appears I got the number from my city; it takes some 7--8 minutes to get there by bus and I doubled it. For reference, it's some 4 kilometers away to my station and the bus is kinda old.

    So after the eventful day you had, you decided to look up the current fads, trends, and the top idol singers of the country. First you started absorbing all the info of the current state of idol work. After quickly searching, you found that the current state of the idol singing is... interesting. Seems like some of the idol singers are branching out to different genres including heavy metal and rock 'n' roll. This diversification seems to have shaken the industry a bit since quite a chunk of the populace seems to like this new wave of idol music. The top idols who stuck with the usual idol fare are only there due to their ridiculous talent and actually really good songs.

    That's interesting... Seems like there's a girl with the same last name as Hazami, guess you'll ask her about it some time later. Anyways, you continued on absorbing information on idols and found some interesting news too.

    America has built a robotic suit that they named the Tallgeese. Japan responded that giant robot suits are their thing and are now building their own.


    No leads have been found for that case yet? Seems interesting that no one has gotten any clues yet. Anyways seems like there's names of some victims that are conveniently located in the city next to yours, that's useful.

    Anyways, if you're understanding this right, the usual idol is young, beautiful, and has a high-pitch or really good singing voice. Seems like that's grossly over simplified but it'll work for now. Also what Hazami seemed to say about idols had some truth to it. An idol is basically thrown out of the job at age 25 and over, new idols can quickly replace old ones, even the part about idols plotting the demise of one another may not be so far-fetch. There's even a website in the dark web that's dedicated to how to kidnap and kill idols, maybe that last part could come in handy.

    Seems like you got all you needed on the culture of idol singing or at least how the internet interprets it. After all that you had about most of the day to yourself. Mostly because that entire search took you about five minutes.

    Really now, I never would have guessed :V

    Also I love how the more we learn about this version of Earth the more batshit crazy it's revealed to be. Gundams! Espers! Vocaloids! I'm getting the feeling that eventually, all of this is going to collide in the most wonderfully insane way possible.
