A tactical paladin with a longbow and leadership skills sounds like a really cool and fun spin on things. So much so I threw together a statline for the Marshal character, just for the fun of it. Buuuut it's also understandably far behind in the vote tally, since "longbow" isn't what people normally think of when they picture someone in shining armor. Thus, a couple of approval votes.
(Though arguably Mass Effect's protagonist would have a 2 in History, given how often they ask people to narrate history tidbits.)

I looked, but the best I could find in the thesaurus was "Shepherd", and I can't put a 6 in every category.

These are the Skills options with a chance to win. It's important to note that they will be rarely used in combat and serve a mainly non combat purposes. They will have a narrative impact on combat. A high athletic would be more likely to make use of an acrobatic fighting style while a high stealth might express itself in going for backstabs or flanking an enemy. Similarily a low social is less likely to banter amd a low deception is less inclined to use a feint. Keep this in mind while considering what kind of fighter you want on the battlefeild and how we might develop their spirit abilities to support that style.

With genius likely to be the winner I'd think scholar would be a better fit. Being book-smart would pair well with a young upstart with little experience. Not to say sports would be bad but when I think genius that's just not the first thing that comes to my mind. I'd rather play as someone that fights with their head than their muscles.
