Enkidu, Part 4
You clicked the speed dial on Ozpin's phone, and after three rings that felt like eternity he answered.

"Ozpin he-"

"PROFESSOR I NEED YOUR HELP! THERE'S SOMEONE AFTER ME THAT'S TOO STRONG FOR NORMAL HUNTERS TO DEAL WITH!"

To his credit, he didn't waste any time being surprised. "How strong?"

"She completely defeated both me and my companion; I only managed to escape due to a lucky blow, but she's already back in top form! I'm also completely sure that she was holding back her strength a lot since I'm her target and she probably wants to capture me alive! She had also tore down an armored car from range like it was made of tissue paper!"

You hear him curse in the distance. "Where are you?"

"In between - SONOVABITCH!!! - my hometown and Yellowstone!"

Two agonizing seconds passed as you two dodged more swords flying after you, before he answered. "I will send someone your way, but it will take a while for her to get there. Try to hold this person off for as long as you can."

The call ended, and you kept dodging the assault. She was coming far too close for comfort.

"Fly down to the forest and let's try to lose her in the trees!"

"Understood."

As you two landed on the ground you both ran as fast as you could while trying to get to cover, until you heard the sounds of your pursuer coming after you.

"Oh Jaune~," she said with a echoing voice, probably some kind of speaker system she had somewhere. "Don't hide. Don't you want to be together with me? We can be together forever and ever and ever and ever after I rip that slut's spine out with my bare hands!"

Without looking back you both run, before Enkita shifts into some kind of large jaguar and you hop on her back, her altered form allowing you both run through the trees at an even faster speed.

"Do you want to play, Jaune? Do you want to play hide and seek with me? Then I'm going to show you the trick you taught me before," you heard her giggle through the echo, "it's called 'gaming the system'. Here~ I~ go~~o!"

For the first time, you look back and see that a giant sword had pierced through a couple of trees in the back. No, scratch that, the swords were humongous, their blades each piercing multiple trees at once.

Dodging to the left, a very large sword crashed into the trees, it's blade length easily the size of a tree and thicker than several tree trunks before it disappeared. Jumping down another blade came cutting the top of several trees in a row, all of them falling ahead of you two while you try to weave between them.

"If you don't come over and play Jaune, I can't help but do this," she says in a almost desperate tone before suddenly shifting to giggling, "come and play with me Jaune! We were doing so well before~"

She's sending quite the mixed signals there. She's trying to kill you, but wants to capture you alive, she could easily overpower you two but holds back when fighting. What does she really want?

"Enkita, who the hell is she?"

"She's Aruru Unit One, Enkidu. The oldest and strongest, and she was... sorry, memory is corrupted on that subject." She says in her usual monotone that rang with a deeper tone due to her form.

"Should we engage her again?"

"Our chances to defeat her, even with her currently restricted abilities, are low. Not impossible, but difficult. Assuming that she remains with her capabilities restricted while we fight."

"Somehow I think she will hold back against me, while holding back to a lesser extent against you."

[ ]Engage her, try to either 'defeat' her or gain more time until help arrives.
[ ]Keep running, even while holding back she's still too powerful for you.

If we just keep running entirely, she's going to start holding back less and less. That would hurt a bit.

Obviously she was caught and reprogrammed by those assholes. Note to self, don't get caught by them, don't let our ... whatever she is to us get caught by them either

Yeah, maybe Glynda (who is hopefully the person on backup duty) will pull us out of this fire. Poor trees. They did nothing wrong.

So I've been thinking a bit about our next actions after this arc and here is what I think we should do:

We all agree that raising our aura is important, and while I think we should stick to it I think that we have been neglecting something just as important: our Fitness. It not only affects our HP but our Attack and Defense and probably other factors we don't even know about; we can't keep ignoring it and I suggest we raise it to max.

Our current long-range capabilities are pitiful, to say the least, half of the problem is our low skill level with our gun and the other half is the gun itself; it won't do much against real threats(it's basically a peashooter, one without a good fire rate). So we have two options that branch out into even more options: a new gun or start using Dust-based techniques.

If we go with a new gun, before we even raise our Weaponsmith skill, we need to decide the kind of weapon we want. I think it would be best if we got an AK-47 with a grenade launcher, that way we have both a high fire rate and something with a little extra kick. If we are having trouble deciding on one, on the weekend, we could go browsing at a Weapon Store with Ruby. Her knowledge of weapons would be invaluable in making a choice. We could even discuss the pros and cons of using guns versus Dust-based techniques.

If we choose to go with Dust, we will definitely need more info on it (best to ask the teacher or read a book). Jaune only knows how to make bullets, but we know some stuff from the World of Remnant shorts. I'd go with Dust Weaving and I'd put Ice Dust into gloves(in case we lose our weapons) so that we can throw ice spikes, freeze enemies who get too close, and change the terrain to slip up our enemies. Of course, we could also put fire Dust into gloves to shoot flamethrowers(kinda like Mustang from FMA), put wind or gravity Dust into shoes to decrease inertia and move faster(don't know if that would work, but it's worth a shot). Really, the only limit to using Dust is your creativity, and although it is the most expensive option it is very much worth it(We'll need to find a way to make money though).

One last thing that I've been thinking about is, what we would do if we lost our weapons. We would be screwed that's what, we need to remedy that, and soon. We could ask Ren or Yang to teach us a bit about hand to hand or we go to the library to find a book about it.

So, there you have it, folks those are my ideas, feel free to use them if you want to.

Also:

[X]Engage her, try to either 'defeat' her or gain more time until help arrives.
-[X] Aim to slow her, then run some more.

Fitness is strength, dexterity, speed, constitution, endurance, and appearance all rolled into one.

It gives the base value for all of the above, which is then modified by multipliers.
So, super strength might be "strength is fitness * 3.5x at this level"

at least this is how it worked in previous headway quests.
So yes, raising fitness to max ASAP is a very important goal.

I think that we were all already planning on raising Fitness to max eventually, I just felt it needed to be said. Bottomline, we need a game plan, and to do that we need to actually discuss stuff. That is what my post was mainly about, to get people talking or at least thinking.

Anyway, it has been a few days and I have a few more ideas.

If we choose to learn hand to hand combat the best method to go about it is to get Enkita(if she survives this arc) to teach us how to Brawl. We'll train it and eventually reach a higher level of skill than her and then we help her improve. We really need to help her improve her base stats if is ever going to be useful in a fight, that is not to say that she is useless. Her ability to shapeshift could be useful in gathering information, via turning into small animals to listen in on conversations or perhaps tracking down criminals for bounties, I mean we do need the money...plus if the bounties have aura we get a chance to increase our aura level.

Overall if we want to learn hand to hand we need to get better armor -- arm guards and greaves, especially -- and train our Reflexes. The reason being that we don't quite know what differentiates Combat Reflexes from Reflexes. Combat Reflexes might be more about parrying and blocking while Reflexes might be more about dodging, and if we don't have our shield we'd be hard pressed to block a hail of bullets with arm guards.

Here are some dialogue choices that might be useful to us if teams avalon (with enkita) and new liberty ever hang out:
Ruby and Weiss: Discuss the pros and cons of Dust Bullets and other methods of Dust use.
Ren, Enkita, and Yang: Discuss various forms of hand to hand combat.
Blake : I don't really know, we could discuss how differently stories are told through various mediums? Not really useful to us but it might interest a book lover like Blake and we should be trying to build friendships with both our sister team and other teams as well.

When we get back to Beacon with Enkita there are going to be questions from our team, questions we might not want to answer. So we should instead introduce her as our pet rat, Scabbers. Well, that is unless we want to tell them the truth about everything, which I think we should do.

Well, there are my ideas, hope they spark a few ideas of your own.

Or we could work on developing our Semblance to shapeshift into the forms of various Grimm for when we don't have acess to our weapons.

Technically, you use Brawl to fight while shapeshifted, and being in grimm form gives you an extra power bonus to the combat rolls.

Good to know, but the problem lies in the fact that it might bring extra attention and that it is difficult to improve. I might get behind it if we had a Game Plan, but no one else is bothering to help come up with one.

Yep, that is what my recent posts have been about. I've been giving ideas on what we can do.
