I'm more saying that it's something that can happen. It just so happen that if I decide to use the gun you will be rolling lower, so instead you will always default to swording things to death since it's more effective.

Well, let's look at it like this.

I, in real life, would be Guns 4, Professional, having scored just a few points from perfect on the Range in Boot Camp and MCT.

If he is of the same skill level as those who ranked below, slightly above the average, then he should still have sufficent skill to hit a moving target of running speed (6-16 mph) about 7 put of 10 times at 200 yards.

Not nessessarily an accurate, damage causing hit, but a hit none the less. For a good hit I would put it more like 4 out of 10.

This is most likely a much faster enemy, so we should only use it if she is immobile or preoccupied.
 
There are other, non disclosed mitigating factors that makes gun use not a good option compared with swording things to death.
 
Fairly certain that this enemy can fly, given that she is hovering right now. I see no viable option of she starts flying.

Either way, you are the author so it's kinda dumb to argue with you about it.

But still, using a gun to fight in the battle should improve that skill dramatically when/if we beat this new foe. Using a wide variety of skills should improve us if I interpreted this right.

This would have been a really embarrassing moment of failure to open the secret door otherwise

Angra mainyu did quite a job on her. I wonder just how much of a person she is and how much computer. Could we, perhaps in the future, capture her "alive" and then undo whatever programming they put in place to make her their tool and our enemy?

or flat out erase all her memories? (i am assuming its a thing considering 9's memory erasure)

We can treat her like a person when she isn't an insane mass murderer working for a shadowy conspiracy

that is an accurate description of guns 4, but our guns is 3 which is merely "average", not 4 which is "professional".
in comparison our swording is 6 "peak human". Eventually our guns will catch up and it would make sense to use them, but not right now

I just had a thought here. does the fact we got attacked here mean they know our identity?

If they merely tracked down our power signature or whatever, then failing to kill her would reveal our identity?

We better have the family upgrade their defenses

I'm still reading it. Just trying to figure out how the scene will play out in the future, and to play out some things that will happen in the future. Also, discussion helps me get back in a writing mood.

True, but I do believe I posted an accurate description of the likely result of using a gun and his chances of landing a hit, which at this point seem more likely given the raw firepower our foe seems to have.

If we can somehow get past all of that, then yeah, I agree swording is the way to her heart. And through it.

To be fair, she caught us while we were in an airship. So they could have reasoned that attempting to run away would have failed
