Haruno Sakura Quest

I... kinda wanted us to learn Reverse Summoning mainly as an escape technique in-case we're in a normally inescapable situation, like if we're about to be kidnapped by a Baddy.

I'd take our chances with the Summon Animals in that case. Besides, it would be thematically appropriate, considering we're in a Shonen setting.

We don't need to get a contract with Summon Animals. Since we are learning how summoning works, we could create a summoning scroll attuned to us, and then trigger that by summoning a weight or something from it, causing it to summon us. A poor-man's version of the Flying Thunder God's ability to cross vast distances at will.

Simple. We summon a weight or something from our room back in Konoha. The weight disappearing triggers some Fuuinjutsu we got going on at that end triggers a summoning seal that summons us back. We put the weight back, priming the seal to be used next time we want to be summoned back.
If it's that easy, how come no one does it?
Probably because they haven't thought of it, like lots of things.
Plus, it's another one of those things where lifeofgesture said we could do it, provided we know how Summoning works. Which we'd be learning here.
Those I was actually thinking of combining together, to provide quick transportation back home, or any other set location. Basically, we summon the weight, and the seal is then triggered to summon us back, and we'd then replace the weight for next time we need a quick ride.
Seems an awfully huge security risk.
Don't think it's too big. Konoha is surrounded by a barrier that detects all unauthorized entry after all, anyone who would be using the system maliciously would almost certainly not be authorized, and if they were authorized they wouldn't need the system.

No one thought of it, really? Everyone knows Yellow Flash, many know that summoning is a thing, to the point where a 9 y.o. can discover the detail enough to try it herself, and no one tried it before?

I mean, it's true that setting here is broken to bits, but just assuming that no one had an idea like this, ever?

I kinda hope the reason no one does it is bc botched roll leaves you splattered across the multiverse. That's at least believable.

Prodigies are a thing as shown with Itachi becoming Anbu at a very young age and with Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura becoming some of the most powerful ninjas on the planet at age 15. But yeah odds are that it's pretty dangerous to pull off or you need to be skilled in the right areas. We also have the advantage of perfect chakra control.

As we've been over before, people don't think of lots of shit.
Plus, we know that reverse summoning doesn't carry a big chance of leaving you splattered across the multiverse. Because for all the people that have been summoned or reverse summoned, they have never been spalttered across the multiverse?
Would it be more believable for, instead of automating it, have someone trained in summoning sit in a room, waiting for a weight to disappear to tell them to perform the summoning of the indicated individual? Because that would be the exact same thing with just having to use a person to do it, and is doing absolutely nothing new besides just dedicating a guy to do it.

Pretty sure "reverse summoning is a dangerous thing" is canon. And how do you know no one ever got hurt doing it? Dead people don't get screentime after all.

And "someone trained in summoning"? Like who? Where do you get this person? Last I checked sumoners are few n far in between.

It's true that PC is Sakura in name only, so she can have all kinds of ideas seemingly out of nowhere, but the suggestion that no one ever tried to replicate what Yellow Flash did is, frankly, laughable.

Then again, if QM permits this there's not much to do but sigh and shake head, no matter how ridiculous it is.

I hope the penalty for messing up is comparable to failure with sealing printer. These things are about the same level of bs.

@lifeofgesture Question I missed in my earlier question collection.
As our Fuinjutsu score goes up, does how many scrolls/tags we can make with 1 action go up as well?

Edit: Could we combine the DCs of various swords, and try to make multiple at once? Cause some of those values, there's no way we could make it with 1 action but 2 action we are almost certainly going to have overflow. Combining the DCs would let us get more swords with less dedicated actions.

Edit 2: And what would the DC be on that User Identification System?

As your fuinjutsu score goes up, the number of tags/scrolls goes up as well. I'll rewrite how many later.

Yes you can combine the DCs, but it'll be harder to do.

DC on the User Identification system is 110. It's not a hard concept to do.

As for that heal 100 people sword thing, I really don't recall giving a DC on something like that.

You'll have to prep the scroll by standing on the paper so It's not instantaneous like the flying thunder god ability. I'm basing the fact you can teleport people based on the chuunin exam iruka scrolls thing if you guys remember.

Because despite all the time people were summoned, no one died.
Dead people don't get screentime after al
Dead people got a lot of screen time. One of the main villains was a dead dude.
nd "someone trained in summoning"? Like who? Where do you get this person? Last I checked sumoners are few n far in between.
People who can summon things is not the same as holding a summoning contract. Kakashi can summon some Konoha Dogs for example, those dogs aren't part of a summon clan. The main reason there aren't many summoners is not because its hard, but because most summon clans have high standards, its why reverse summoning yourself is dangerous, they might just kill you.
but the suggestion that no one ever tried to replicate what Yellow Flash did is, frankly, laughable.
Because its only vaguely similar to what Minato did. It doesn't have any combat use.
Yes you can combine the DCs, but it'll be harder to do.
Well yes, a combined DC is harder than just one of the DCs. Or do you mean the DC is even higher than just adding the two together?

I know it wouldn't be instant, but it'd be far faster than just walking back. And we wouldn't have to get it down to instant to be usable, just chopping it down to a seconds worth of time would make it great for running the heck away.

Not really what I mean. It might be okay for us, a fresh out of the academy genin. For a famous jounin in the bingo books, leaving a summoning scroll for them lying around is not really safe. Konoha got infiltrated all the time in canon... cloud, sand, orochimaru.... All they have to do is roll up the scroll and take it somewhere they can summon you into a crowd of enemies and Konoha is down one jounin.

Again, it would work for us to a point, but that could be a reason it's not widespread.

Plus, I'm willing to bet people can be prevented from summoning or being summoned.

We'd simply need to add some features to keep us from being summoned against our will.
Plus, while people might be able to set up something to prevent summons from happening in an area, that's an additional precaution they'd have to take. In all instances they don't, we'd have a quick way out.

@lifeofgesture Does successfully creating one thing lower the difficulty of making something similar to it? Like if we make the Flying Thunder God Sword, would the DC for re-inventing the real Flying Thunder God be lower, both being space-time effects focused on teleporting the user around?

Well if you invent the Flying thunder god sword, reinventing the flying thunder god would be mastered already.

We aren't your average person who dabbles in seals though?
Or are you meaning if we tried to spread the effect, setting it up with the village so every ninja had a Quick Return button? Cause yeah, then odds are most Ninja wouldn't know how to shrug off a summon-attempt.

Yeah, that's my point.

The question was:
Why isn't this reverse summoning panic button widespread? Reverse summoning is a well-known use of summoning and sealing after all.

The answer I'm positing is:
Reverse summoning is a security risk if someone bad gets their hands on the scroll, and plugging that security gap requires more and more specialized knowledge, which can in turn be undone by someone with more and more specialized knowledge. End result is it's not safe to use unless you're a sealing master with your own sealing code that other villages' sealing masters are unlikely to break, or you have access to securely guarded places to keep your scrolls that you trust implicitly.
Or you're a fresh genin and no one cares enough to steal your scroll.

Learning fuinjutsu is a pain in the ass and it takes a long time to learn how to do it in combat. You're basically right though.

Oh, then yeah. The whole idea is to save overflow from making one of the swords, and let it be applied to a second sword, that is just fine.
Like if we made the Samehada and the Flying Thunder God Sword, 300 + 550 = 850 DC
Samehada alone, we'd have to spend 2 actions.
Flying Thunder God Sword alone, we'd have to spend 4 actions
Together, we'd only have to spend 5 actions. One action less than producing the two swords separately. Which was why I was asking in the first place, to save on spent actions.
Well if you invent the Flying thunder god sword, reinventing the flying thunder god would be mastered already.
Really? I thought the premise would be different enough that would requires separate actions. The Sword wouldn't be forcing us to go between marked spots, but anywhere, the drawback being it had a limited range. The seals themselves though, have infinite range, but you have to mark the spots. But alright, that's good to know.

Alright, that I can totally understand. Muer'ci seemed to have been arguing against us being able to make and use it. Not why it isn't being used by everyone. I can totally understand why it's not widespread.

Yep sounds good.

You still need a marker for the flying god sword which I was thinking itd be the scabbard. If you don't have a destination marker, bad things will happen.

Yeah, I'll have to make a reason for why it's not widespread. Probably the reason is that fuinjutsu is a pain in the ass to learn and you tend to die early if you specialise in it.

So what, we are suppose to toss the scabbard wherever we want to go? The thought was that we could go wherever we wanted to (within range).
Or are you focusing on the fact that Minato could reposition himself within the vicinity of his seal at will, not restricted to JUST going to it, and you are thinking of us expanding that freedom of reposition about the seal considerably?

I think it'd be mostly the security thing. You have to be good with Fuinjutsu to be able to shrug off a summoning attempt, and most people aren't good at Fuinjutsu, because like yo usaid it's a pain in the ass.

Kabuto talks about the underlying fundamentals of ninjutsu and how to build techniques. He shows you an earth wall jutsu that's quick and strong defense against attacks as well as jutsu that send spikes of earth from the ground.

[X] Sasuke. You feel bad for him. He's really intense and scary now. He is your rival now. He has made a pact with the demon Amateratsu.

"Sakura I have something to show you." Sasuke tells you after a team training session one day. He's been taciturn lately, so you nod gladly and follow him to the Uchiha compound. The ground where the plants had bursted had been filled in, but it was visibly newer than the rest. You and Sasuke enter a greenhouse of glass and your eyes widen at the tiny black sun hovering above the plants. It was small, two inches in diameter.

The monochrome light blazed against Sasuke's skin as he said, "I needed more power. I was weak and I failed you. I failed the team."

What do you say?

[X] Learn more about the history of the shinobi nations.

The Village hidden in the Mist is ruled by Yagura, the Yondaime Mizukage. He is a fair, if absolute, ruler and the village prospers fairly well under his reign. They believe in power though their social structure is from a historical caste system formed by the winners and losers of the foundation of the village. They have a suspicion of those with bloodlines despite the fact they have a great deal of shinobi with bloodlines.

[X] Learn how to reverse summon in order to gain a summoning contract. (Warning: Highly dangerous.)

You find a scroll in the genin library on how to reverse summon yourself to gain a summoning contract. It's labeled with various caution labels and warnings of danger, but the diagram is fairly straightforward and it's not like you're going to do it now.

[X] Kabuto sensei. He seems kind and genial.

You visit the hospital frequently with Kabuto sensei, but you begin to wonder what he does other than that in his spare time. One day, Kabuto sensei tells you that they were not headed to the hospital today.

"Sakura chan, let me show you a project the Godaime has put me on," He says, smiling. Kabuto sensei leads you to a chuunin restricted training ground and to a metal house that has a guard looking through some paperwork and well light stairs leading into the ground. He greets Kabuto sensei and waves you in. The both of you walk down the stairs for a while, with Kabuto sensei reviewing your medical jutsu knowledge.

You're shocked to see a large underground caverns once you get down, but you try to hide it as much as possible. But you completely lose your cool when you see the enormous town that comes into view.

"What is this?!" You exclaim, eyes wide.

"Ah, this is the Reservoir." Kabuto explained, as you pass the gate guards and head into the busy underground. "One of many experiments by the Godaime. Please don't tell anyone except your teammates about this place, it's considered a secret forbidden to civilians and most genin."

You pass restaurants, bars, fighting pits, casinos, normal shops, until you reach what seems to be the hospital. You go into the East Wing and enter a room full of ... children? There were about twenty of them playing with each other. They all rushed to Kabuto sensei when they saw him and he fondly mussed their hair about and gave them candy before begging off to leave. After you head into another set of stairs, he speaks up.

"About half of them won't make it." He seems melancholic. "They've been injected with a bloodline serum tailored to their DNA profile, but the serum will still reject some of them."

"Then why did you inject them?!" You exclaim, full of shock.

"The Godaime ordered it. They're orphans or their parents volunteered them for this service in order to gain entrance to the village." He explained as you reached a door that read 'WARNING ONLY AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY'. You struggled to comprehend the horror that he just unveiled as he pressed his palm to the door and injected some chakra.

Your eyes widen at the sight of fetuses in large glass cylinders. A few people in coats greeted Kabuto-sensei warmly, but quickly returned to their work. He put his hand on one of the glass cases and stared at it.

"This is Uchiha Obito's contribution to the science team. The Uchiha had resisted giving any samples to the science team for years, but after what had happened to the Uchiha clan, Obito-san wanted to stay on the investigative team after Danzo. The Godaime gave it to him under a stipulation. He accepted." He idly picks up a paper full of results that you could barely understand. "Healthy so far. Good." He looks at you, with a serious look in his eyes.

"This is the future of shinobi Sakura. These fetuses not only hold the bloodline of the Uchiha, but of other bloodlines as well. They will unite the world under Konoha's banner."

What do you say?

[X] What the fuck Kabuto sensei.

[X] Is there anything I can do to help?

[X] Learn Stealth techniques from Kikyo sensei and how to defeat them. (Improves Stealth and learns ambush skills.)

Kikyo sensei decides to take a different approach suddenly in your training. You learn how to blend into the background and become part of the scenery. You learn to take on different personas, be different people that have a variety of lives. You deal in hair dyes, make ups, and wigs as henges were too easy to disrupt.

[X] Raiza. She's your new teammate. She seems to think of herself as a big sister to you and Sasuke. Her family was kicked out of Kumo a long time ago and cheerfully admits to it.

You're both lying down after a session of free sparring. Raiza was overwhelming with her elemental offense using her spear. She was extremely skilled in manipulating the elements, tossing fireballs, disrupting the earth beneath your feet, flowing water to slow your movements, and more. But she admitted she was overly reliant on her spear for her power and was working on improving her back up plan skills.

"I have to confess something Sakura. After the mission I realized I shouldn't hold anything back from my team." She took a deep breath. "I'm a sensor."

You don't even blink after the revelations of the past couple of weeks. "Uh, okay."

"I just ... didn't want to be relegated to the background because of my sensor abilities." She admits. "Sensors tend to be in investigation and search teams. But we're probably going to be a hunter nin team."

"What?"

Raiza blinked. "Oh. Uh Sasuke's training to be a hunter nin? Didn't he tell you?"

"No." You exclaim, feeling angry.

"Oh. Well, you know why he has his reasons for doing that." You know why, but it still hurts he didn't tell you.

[X] Approach a kenjutsu master.

"Okay." Hayate says, shrugging.

You blink. You caught Hayate eating at one of his favorite pork buns shop.

"You're the apprentice of Takagumi. How can I not agree to teach you?" He says, biting into a pork bun.

"Well, okay then."

"I expect you to show up to work with me frequently though." He warned.

[X] Spend time with Takagumi in her last weeks.

Takagumi grows less coherent by the day, recounting random days of her life.

"... And he demanded a sword and so my father in his green apron made one for him, but he could not handle it and the sword took his life ..." She rambled on as you held her hand and nodded.

One day, her eyes are lucid and clear and she says to you, "You have made me proud Sakura ... I know you will do great things ... take care they are not also terrible ..."

She closes her eyes for the last time afterwards and despite even the medic nin's efforts, she does not rouse from her final sleep. You find out later that she has gifted you her house and the smithy below it.
