Halkegenia Online Thread 24 : WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM

Not to mention the healing factor that all Fae have (the basis of 'Battle Healing' as it were). Might not be 100% but if their bodies are simply better at dealing with the daily wear and tear that everybody experiences; even discounting thier lifespan, they'll look youthful and 'perfect' a lot longer than normal.

Past mentions of the Faerie ageing process would suggest that they stay perfect right up until they turn into Yoda. Thereby becoming truly perfect.

Which does imply a baseline healing capacity sufficient to fully offset the usual wear and tear. Something that is probably gonna be pretty unpleasant for a lot of first generation Fae whose bodies always feel a little airbrushed to them.

Random question... given I have to re-read this all... since I'm trying to read Maid of Arrun and HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON

would anyone want me to post occasional summaries of my reactions to it?

Suguha has fairly short, black (normal coloration) hair. From what we've seen of earlier childhood, iirc, she always had short hair. It's possible that her training as a kendoka from a fairly early age influenced that, as I imagine short hair is much more manageable when doing training, and wearing a helmet.

When Suguha chose/got her Leafa avatar, she likely was glad to have an Avatar so unlike her IRL appearance, to compartmentalize her fantasy-self better. Now though, she has to manage a real head of long, exotic, blonde hair. With all the effort that entails.

Her role as a member of the Watch is a pretty active occupation (implying extra care needed), and a possible hazard in tight quarters when flying or fighting in the city or surrounding wooded areas.

So, her impulse to have it cut short could have a practical imperative, and not solely a kind of rejection of her current body image. Of course, Leafa would still have blond hair... Interesting idea, would hair dye even work properly, or would a faerie's natural color always come through?

In Siesta's POV, Leafa's hair represents a kind of status symbol expected of a Noble, because it draws notice, and implies she does no work where it could get in the way, and has the time and/or help to keep it up. Leafa has noticeably longer/more hair than Asuna as a faerie, as far as I can tell from artwork...

An option could be some kind of braided hairdo that could be tucked up or coiled around her head, keeping it possibly more manageable. Braids take time, but they can last a while, AFAIK. Though her standard ponytail is simple enough, aside from the way it trails behind.

What she needs is the Saber braid from F/SN.

Huh,guess she could really use someone to help her ready herself in the mornings and aid in lengthy tasks like that kind of hairdo.

Some kind of, Maid, perhaps. :p

So basically Siesta evolves to become like the stereotypical matron servant that ACTUALLY runs the house and takes care of everyone without the stereotypical age that comes with such duties.

that picture is soo adorable.
Just imagining Yui like that gives me sugar overload!

Yui in the morning.

-sits up only half awake-

-yawns-

-scratches nose-

Astral Yui - <<START>> System Resuming, Bootstrap 65%, 999.7/1000 EB available, <<CRDL OK>>, <<RUN KERNEL OK>>

Physical Yui - 'Hafta to pee'

Edit : -Get's out of bed. Staggers to her door and opens it blindly. Tries to thread the needle and get through the door while sleeping on her feet. Fails. Slams head into wall. Uses forehead as a probe to find door opening.-

Well, they were made to be perfect and appealing to the eye.

Some priest throwing shade at the Fae by listing off sins at a Puca girl who just isn't having it!

"Wrathfull! Yee are wrathful fighting beings I say!"

"Actually I'm a pacifist who sings songs about peace and love overcoming all."

"SLOTH! You be dreamers who were trapped in your own dream!"

"Maybe, but since I got this body I've done nothing but work my hardest. I test myself everyday helping my friends!"

"Glutonous! A Fae eats enough food for two men!"

"And do you see us getting fat? We're not eating to excess. If we're eating for two we're working just as much!"

"Lustful! Yee be reborn in the body of a succubus!"

" . . . "

"Okay well that's just because of BS gender standards in the industry!"

More like she behaves like an actual maid rather than a secondary fetish love interest in a harem comedy. I mean, I love reading between the lines and scavening shit from these series because there's actually a LOT there, even if it's not put together well. Canon Siesta's kindofa bold bitch when she thinks she can get away with it . . .

So yeah, she ain't trying to seduce the master of the house when she meets him.

Siesta was also lucky that Louise was somewhat alright with her shenanigans to an extent because when you remember the things Siesta did in canon(Especially with Saito), well Louise could have had so much done to her and it would have been considered fair.

As someone who actually does swordfighting with long hair, it's not the length that is a problem- braids and twists are great and easy. The issue is with free strands getting in your eyes- and a saber braid or anything with long bangs like that is the worst of both worlds.

"Besides, if you have it, you might as well flaunt it!"

Other than the hair not matching, I suppose this would fit fairly well:

Spy x Family, the character is Anya Forger, the cutest little telepath/reaction face generator

"Besides, if you have it, you might as well flaunt it!"

I'm reminded of a painting I saw on the 'This is Fae Propaganda if I ever Saw It' page of facebook.

'Nude Nymph's With Hunting Dogs'

Romalia trying to open up good relations with the Fae, but not really knowing anything about Fae culture, just sending this commission oil painting from the churches best artists based on the hear say and rumors.

Morgiana : "I mean, the resemblance to Alica and KoKo is uncanny!"

So, genuine question: I got them impression a lot of the "senior" fae were so good looking because they had the system translate their stats into physique. With the need for all subsequent generations to train up from level 1 equivalent, in a world where exercise hurts again, do you think we are going to see a lot more human-ish bodies in the upcoming kids?

Beauty has little to nothing to do with physique though?

Like, someone who is ugly is going to be ugly even if they're in amazing shape and someone good looking is still going to be good looking if they're chubby or lacking muscle or whatever.

Plus the Fae likely have an easier time of getting fit just because they're all in bodies with superhuman base stats for this stuff.

You know, I hope Siesta can make a life for herself in Arun. Make friend, discover new things, find love (or lovers) and grow as a character.

And she could have visits from her uncles who might want to open a new branch of his bar in Arun

Remember, Klein is the harem protagonist of HalkO, and already has established group by the WoG:
Klein shall be a pseudo Harem protagonist

-Not actually with Suguha, though everyone but Kirito and Asuna think that's what must be going on and thus it fuels the ongoing harem antics while the two remain oblivious.
-Enya is too shy about it [<Stupid Feelings! So stupid!]>
-Foquet has trust issues that probably make it hard to get close to anyone, much less a foreigner, so instead, she used him for her own ends. But at least she starts to feel bad about it as time goes on.
-Tifa's age and titanic bust have forced Klein to orbit in a sort of equilibrium.
-Bishop doesn't meet the Drinking age rule either, though he couldn't tell when she's masquerading as Freyja, and is more interested in poking him and seeing what happens as she studies humans and Fae and their responses. (Maybe she's wierdly fond of him even, but I doubt it would be anything resembling human romantic love.)
-Skuld is a war Goddess who's probably still getting used to the whole existing thing and who's probably torn between wanting to beat the crap out of him, wanting to tare his clothes off, and wanting him to tare her clothes off, perhaps all three at the same time :p
:V

Beauty had got a LOT to do with how you treat your body though. And it's not even really just an attribute- it's a skill that needs to be practiced and deployed else even the naturally prettiest person will look like a slug.

Seriously, learning how much beauty is a thing that is done rather than a thing one has was eye-opening to me in a lot of ways.
