Halkegenia Online Thread 22 - Kill Sheffield Vol. 2

Wouldn't the attempt put Shiori off and throw a wrench in the whole 'three and a half Demi-humans' thing at the end of this? Considering what happened last time she went through attempted mental violation...

Why would she even want to? I thought Shiori was her friend... unless you have a horrible gutpunch planned in which Tiff alienates her only friend after failing to mindwipe all her bodies. That would be mean. :(

Why not have her find out about Shiori is an assasin and her Sister is a criminal at the same time? For maximum suffering?

Do we really need to make Shiori - or Tiff - suffer even more? Both of them have enough on their trama plate, I think

I was mostly joking. Unless someone secretly replaced TH with Urobutchi or another Healing-Type, it very likely to end reasonably well for those three (or would that be five) if they make it off albion alright.

that's good, in spite of what some believe real art doesn't have to be filled with angst.

Yes, between the MorgiannaxEugene situation, Shiori's struggle with being a killer, and the majority of the Reconquista perspective being Holland's constant doubt about everything and fixation with "her eyes," vol 3.0 has had enough angst for one arc.

Salvaged and patched what was fix-able from the lineart, set alongside the old armor for comparison. May as well see what's worth keeping and discarding.

Left bracer is bigger to store modified Assassin's Blade. The helmet in this one is sleeker, though I might switch to the first draft helmet for the next version, especially for the ears.

And to shorten those sabatons, how I drew them too long I fail to realize how I did that.

Woohoo! Very nice. Shoulders are an improvement, and the overall design looks like tight-fit metal, rather than more modern military gear. I would add some small stubby points around the knuckles, and make the hidden blade a bit thinner. And it occurred to me, given that Fae will likely be tilting their head in flight, the back of the helmet may need a bent look to accommodate.

All then that's left is to stamp an official crest on it. Great work.

Would it be possible for Tiff to just claim she never learned to fly without the controller, and just general noobishness? Unless that was already the plan. Although, I suppose she would have to know terms like noob, but they do have a Fae for lessons in gamer culture.

You know, all those questions regarding the mind wipe assume that the whole escape thing will go according to plan.

Does anyone believe that will actually happen?
I don't know -- with all the foreshadowing that things are going to get pear-shaped, specters of gloom and death and betrayal, and the encircling threat of Reconquista forces, it would be a suitably jarring subversion of all our expectations if everything went off without a hitch and the lot of them started a bagel shop in Swilvane, or something.

Even if that happens, Reconquista is just one of the factions interested in hunting Tifa down - if for entirely different reasons. She has a long way to go before her life is stable again.

Sounds good. Maybe say she was acrophobic and got into the game to try to get over it, but then it became real and she was afraid of falling to her death again, so she avoided flying lessons like the Black Plague and nothing will convince her to take so much as a single flying lesson. As for learning terms like noob, good thing she now has a genuine Cait Syth to teach her everything she needs to know to pass as a newbie

I guess because people are so used to things going wrong or astray they can't imagine them getting off albion without a hitch which would be the perfect reason for it to happen without trouble.

Idea time: What are the odds of Albion launching a new attack with unknown weapons mentionned before happening at the same time the group looking to get off are about to set sail?

Not good. An attack is certainky coming, and soon, but not in the timeframe we're looking at for Tiffa and co. to get to Tristain (if my math is right they have about a week tops to get to the ship) what with Albion on it's toes with an assassin(s) running around. Then the secret weapon is still being put together, so it probably won't be assembled, tested, and ready until the spring campaign rather than in this fall's campaign.
