GODSTAR - a Science Fantasy Civilization Quest

Hey @ScottishMongol. Can I suggestion, that we get a moratorium, so we had more time to plan and discussed insted of just vote for the first thing we see. If you gonna say no, than plase giv me answer, because too many time had I ask the same question, and not a single time did I get a reply. If I not gonna get an answer, than I gonna post this on evey updated.
[] Demand a 24-48 moratorium for the whole quest.

We already get a moratorium.

I do not consider deliberatly sabotaging quest subject good position, but seeing how popular support is distributed, perhaps I am wrong?

In any way, I now understand that this quest is not for me.
I wish the players good luck.

People not acceding to your desires isnt sabotage, lol. Like, you want writing, fine, but nobodies obligated to buy it.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, this is the first time you've asked me. You already get a 24 hour moratorium before voting opens.

Really. Sorry about that. I didn't noticed it, because the updated didn't say there were a moratorium. Also becaused I ask the same questing in few another quests, but Some reason the QMs never reply back to me about it. I'm very glad, that you answer me questing.

And yet another turn without something so fundamental as writing.

The Chad Oral Historian: "I have remembered a thousand stories and will remember a thousand more."

The Beta Writing System: 'oh no some water got on me, now I'm unreadable.'

But honestly I don't want a plain old boring writing system. We're fucking magical astrologists, bending the world through some star billions of light years away.

Not saying we shouldn't have something to pass on our knowledge just not as mundane as books. Dead words on dead trees, ugh.

But I have a suggestion, I've recently finished playing Ruined King on switch and apparently the Vastayans, magical Fox people, har a way of passing on their knowledge which was super cool.

They would put their literal thoughts, emotions and some memories into a magical stone and then put that stone to power golems. The golems still retained the knowledge and everything.

Does that sound interesting to you guys? Hell is that something we can even tech to?

See, what I want to do is develop our mentat tradition to the point where every single one of our citizens has at least some degree of mentat ability: probably pair it with a ritual or magic effect that'll mystically increase our wisdom or some such.

That, or we develop a sort of artificial Akashic Record our people can tap into when needed: our mentats, dead and alive, would serve as the receptacles for the knowledge, storing the information, but anyone would be able to access it in order to browse our collection of information or to perform complex calculations.

Turn 3 Diplomacy Actions
The League's cultural, religious, and economic influence extends far beyond its actual borders. Hundreds of miles away, in places where trade and diplomacy are only conducted through intermediaries, there are still those who have adopted your ways. Wise men have begun to come and study at your universities or take apprenticeships with your Mechanicals; your goods are in demand among the merchants of the coast. Even in the League of Strength they make use of Couriers. All of this can be used to invite outsiders into the League. Of course, you cannot expand everywhere at once; negotiations will require applying resources and political will, and of course they will demand concessions. Further incorporating them into the League will require time to properly assimilate them and bring their magical and material infrastructure up to date.

Where does the League turn to recruit?

[] The North

There are a number of tribes to the north that are firmly in your economic orbit. However, their primary reason for joining the League is not prosperity but security. With the expansionist League of Strength to their north, they are concerned about collective defense. Of course, there is no guarantee yet that being part of the greater League would deter aggression – only allow them to better defend themselves. +Influence to Merchants and Warrior Societies

[] The South

Beyond the hills to your south the land changes; the thick temperate forests give way to vast oak savannah and, eventually, the monsoon regions on the frontier with the Tech Barons. You have little contact with these people, but they do serve as a buffer between you and a potentially hostile enemy. Perhaps if they were added to the League, they could be strengthened and turned into a bulwark against expansion from the south. Of course, their relative lack of development could be good for the rest of the League, as they will require investment and the work of skilled professionals to bring them up to par with the rest of the League. +Influence to Merchants and Mechanicals

[] The West

Downriver, the tribes that dwell along River-Woman's banks are closely integrated with you already. They venerate River-Woman and her court, adopting your rituals and ways. In addition, their location along the river situates them on a major trade route between the League and the city-state of Sanctuary, the latter being located at the mouth of the river's vast delta. This would vastly improve the League's control over trade with Sanctuary – but also potentially put them in more direct competition with the mysterious colony. +Influence to Merchants and Holy Men

Pick one. Vote is open.

[X] The South

I'd rather not expand too close to Sanctuary so that way we both have space to expand without causing trouble

[X] The South

Seems like this option might get buried but I prefer +Influence to Mechanicals, I really hate the tech barons, I like the mission of developing the south, and I would prefer to not get tightly up against Sanctuary before we've established real contact.

Ceterem autem censeo, Sanctuary must be contacted.
