Go Beyond! (My Hero Academia)

"Do you have any plans or information regarding Matsuda-san?" I asked, an underlying firmness in my words that wasn't present a minute ago. I needed to focus on crushing the enemy. On the edge of my consciousness, I flexed my claw-like gauntlets. I felt like there was something missing from my grip.
Emiko stopped for few moments before shaking her head, "I'm sorry, I can't think of anything specifically for him. So long as it gets to a fight I think we can manage, it's Shirai-san I'm more worried about."

"True. If they split up, how about you handle Matsuda-san, and I'll focus on Shirai-san?" I replied. Perhaps, Shirai-san would force me to reveal my trump card? I was loathe to do so, especially when all of our classmates were probably watching. My mind ached at the thought of those I had terrible compatibility with.

I was loathe to do so, especially when all of our classmates were probably watching. My mind ached at the thought of those I had terrible compatibility with.
Emiko shrugged, "I'll fight whoever runs into me first. Make sure to yell or something if they get to your room first," She said, before grabbing the edge of the hole she made in the floor and dropping to the identical room in the 3rd floor below.

Once there, she stopped for a moment to compose herself before rolling up her sleeves and putting her arms forward, palms open towards one of the room's inner walls. She let the energy flow through her body, channeling more and more of it towards her hands. It didn't stop there, though, and the excess energy overflowed into her arms as well, making them visible glow as if there was something underneath her skin begging to be let free.

She took one shaky breath-

-And she released it. Unlike when she cut the hole in the floor, there wasn't any complexity or or direction in her attack. She didn't even mother making an attempt to spin the energy, to increase it's frequency and make it cut into a wall. It was a battering ram, a simple huge wave of red energy, extending from her hands and arms forward, slamming into the wall and shattering it, causing debris to fly into the nearby room and breaking all the nearby windows with a sound large enough for everyone in the vicinity of the building to hear.

She stood there for a second after the blast, panting, before walking towards one of the walls and slumping against it, sliding downwards to a sitting position. After few moments she pulled an energy bar from her pocket and started munching on it quietly. She had only a minute or two to rest, and then she would have to fight...

Emiko had a good plan. If they would check out her location she could fight in a more open area without having to risk someone slipping by her towards the bomb, and if they would find Suzushina first she would quickly jump through the hole to help her. Overall, the plan didn't have any negative sides to it.

Well, assuming that she could actually beat the others in a fight...

Emiko shrugged, "I'll fight whoever runs into me first. Make sure to yell or something if they get to your room first," She said, before grabbing the edge of the hole she made in the floor and dropping to the identical room in the 3rd floor below.

"Good luck," I replied. My mind was ready for battle. The only thing left to do was wait.

I turned to look at the nuclear bomb we were supposed to be protecting. "Now, where can we hide you?"

Takeshi considered the options. To go in from the roof could allow us to attack unpredictably: They'd most likely expect us to enter from the bottom, like normal. Heck, thats what I was initially thinking of doing. Still, Shirai's quirk does allow for us to do things unorthodoxly.

"Lets take this from the top then. You go down the building while I set up on the first floor, okay?"

All in all, there wasn't any reason to go from the bottom floor in particular. Making full use of their quirks was doubtless part of the exercise, so if they were able to do things out of order, then why shouldn't they?

However, Takeshi's quirk worked better when he had time to set up and make traps. This way, they could hopefully combine the best of both worlds: Shirai's confusing mobility, and Takeshi's explosive objects.

"... I'm assuming I'm just gonna be portaling you right next to the building? If we try running up to the building Izawa's probably going to shoot us full of lasers from a distance." I chuckle. "And I don't want to get shot by lasers tod-"

.She took one shaky breath-

"-ay..."

Well, that's... A thing. I turn to watch debris crumble from the building.

That's some destructive force, yes it is. Emiko's quirk? Arisu's quirk? Probably Emiko. Doesn't matter. I wave cheerfully at the building. Honestly it's kind of a wasted action given that it's really unlikely anyone saw that and it's also unlikely anyone'll think too hard about it but hey, it might pay off in the long run.

Okay I kind of like acting like a goof sometimes. That's not a crime. Pity I can't actually talk to them at the moment. I've always been a fervant proponent of banter during these sorts of things.

My composure's still intact, excellent. No signs of apprehension as far as I can tell.

I do not want to get shot with lasers. Especially if she's capable of that kind of destructive force.

What's the point though? Opening up viewports so Emiko can shoot us full of lasers? No they could've just gone up to the roof for that sort of thing, treat the building like some kind of sniper's nest. Opening up a more open area that favors the both of them? Possibly?

Distraction? High probability. Doesn't explain why they'd blow up a wall. It could be a case of I know you know though. They're assuming we'll be assuming it's a distraction, so they'll have moved the weapon to that floor-

I probably need to stop overthinking this. I also need to say something, it's been a couple of seconds.

"Yeah, Matsuda?" I say slowly. "I'm portaling you to the first floor. Not up for debate. Plan's staying the same right?"

Takeshi's face shifted into a serious, stern mask. Everything before had just been planning. This was it. Time to get things done.

"Agreed. We'll stick to the plan for now. Assuming thats Emikos quirk, that could be highly dangerous." He then proceeded to smirk. "For her. If she ever runs into you at least. You are essentially a counter to her after all."

At first Emiko wanted to stay right under the hole in the ceiling, just so she could jump to help Arisu if needed. However, the though of the armor-clad Arisu jumping down and landing on her head made her decide to sit slightly to the side of it. Quite close but without danger of Arisu landing in her.

That train of thought made her want to ask Arisu how much she weighs with the armor on, but that seemed rude, and so Emiko didn't initiate any communication with Arisu.

She simply set on a bunch of debris and waited for Shirai and/or Matsuda to arrive, keeping her eyes and ears open in hope of spotting them before they would find her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Hadrian spoke softly and leaned forward in a shallow bow. "I'm Hadrian Adolfson and- No, wait. That's Adolfson Hadrian in Japanese name order. Sorry, I'm still getting used to the language."

"Anyway, we should get going then. I'm sure you're just as eager to get started as I am."
Noriko stood there silently for a few moments, if the large boy were paying close attention to the parts of her face that were visible, he may notice her eyebrows lowering in contemplation.

"Adolfson." She eventually manages, obviously doing her best to pronounce the unfamiliar word as closely to how he said it as possible.

"If you don't mind, I will refer to you without honorifics. We'll be working together after all. Feel free to call me Noriko." She adds. She didn't place much stock in that kind of 'politeness' in the first place, and appending it to a foreign name felt odd to her. In the first place, 'Adolfson-san' was almost a tongue twister, and not convenient if she had to shout it in combat.

Looking up at him, she shrugged.

"I wouldn't say I'm eager. I've never been one to feel anything but scared in fights, so I'd say I'm actually quite nervous." She shrugs, seemingly completely unconcerned, "But its part of the curriculum, so I don't have a choice in the matter. Heroes need this kind of training to do their jobs."

At this point, she turned to regard All-Might.

"Besides, as 'Heroes', we have to wait five minutes for the 'Villains' to get set up." She adds, almost depressingly realistic.

"Noriko? Just Noriko?" From what Hadrian understood, calling somebody by their given name without honorifics was a sign of close friendship. But she did ask him to... "Well in that case, please call me Hadrian." He said, the corners of his mouth curling upwards. He could only make small smiles, since grinning like a normal person would come of a threatening instead of friendly.

"And while we do need to let them have their five minutes, that doesn't mean we have to wait her in the command center. We can wait outside the building instead. I just thought that might be better, since you wanted to have some privacy before setting up a strategy."

"Eh. I guess?" I swipe at the air with my right hand, and space tears open in front of me. A man-sized glowing rip's created in the air before me, accompanied by the sound of something similar to paper tearing.

"You know what they say though, no plan survives contact with the enemy." I turn towards Takeshi. "We still don't know what Arisu can do, so stay safe and keep in contact."

... I'm forgetting something right?

"... Also, that portal opens right up at the front door. Just walk through it when you're ready." I say blandly.

"Got it. If things end up becoming awkward, we'll just have to improvise, and worst comes to worst, we just need to touch the missile" Responds Takeshi, rather upbeat. "I'll be counting on you out there man!"

"And don't knock you chances either," he continued. "Your quirks perfect for giving Izawa a taste of her own medicine if needs must."

Still, this didn't look like it was going to be easy. If Izawa could let loose such high power attacks off easily, then even if he could redirect them, Shirai would be in a lot of trouble. And while setting up on floor 1 allowed them to make a part of the building essentially their own territory, it did leave Shirai open early on, and relied a lot on his quirk. They'd have to get creative in order to turn the fight into a 2 v 1 like they hoped to.

"... Also, that portal opens right up at the front door. Just walk through it when you're ready." I say blandly.
Takeshi nodded in response. From here on out, it was time to get to work. No more banter or chitchat, they had a job to do.

"Roger that. Let's get ready to start the mission," he said, as he strode through the portal.

She nods.

"Just Noriko is fine."

When he tells her to call him Hadrian, she pauses for a moment before muttering it under her breath.

"Alright. Lets go then, Hadrian."

So saying, she leads him to the outside of the building they will shortly be storming.

Taking a look around to make sure they were alone, she turns to face him and begins.

"First off, there's the matter of our Quirks. I can guess what you can do, given your rather obvious features, but I should share my ability with you." At this, she points at his face, thumb pointed up and her index finger directed towards his forehead. It was a 'finger gun' of the sort used by children to play all manner of games the world over.

"Were I to activate my Quirk right now, your flesh would begin to necrotize. It takes a while, but I gather that it is extremely painful, and quite debilitating. The tight confines of the test site both help and hinder me; I need line of sight to use my power effectively, but the close quarters make it difficult to avoid or outrange."

She lowers her hand and turns to look up at the building.

"Unless you have a better idea, my plan would be a simple frontal assault. If we both meet our foes at the same time, we'll likely have the upper hand."

She paused and waited for his input. Teamwork wasn't her strong suit, but she was well aware that her idea wasn't exactly the best thought out plan. If Hadrian was smarter or more clever than her, it would be a good idea to get his thoughts on the matter.

As she waited, she decided there wasn't any reason to alter her usual behavior before fights. She probably just needed to alter the script a bit to make it sound more like the Heroes she'd see on the news sometimes...

Hadrian nodded. His quirk made him well suited to simple, combat oriented plans but that didn't mean that it was the only option. "Well, these aren't just for show." He expanded his wings and gave them a single flap to show what he was talking about. "If we're lucky and they put the weapon in a room with an external window like in the first fight, I could just fly up, smash through the window and grab it. That'd be quick and less people would get hurt."

Hadrian paused for a moment and rubbed his chin as he thought. "But that's only if we get lucky. Otherwise, a frontal assault is probably the best bet. Of course, since I can fly we don't have to walk in through the front door. I could fly use up to the roof or we could even enter through a window on any floor. I don't think we should split up though. If I recall correctly, Daradara-san's quirk has something to do with oil generation and Yoganin-san can manipulate molten metal. Their quirks should work well together but they don't match up well against me. I'm fire-proof you see. Unless you can withstand the heat somehow, I think it would be best if I was out front, acting as your shield, while you hung back and snipped them with your quirk."

Hadrian was slightly worried about Noriko shooting him in the back, as he was pretty sure most of his ability to resist fire and heat came from his scales. If they started to rot off, he'd probably be left vulnerable.

""Roger that. Let's get ready to start the mission," he said, as he strode through the portal.

I watch him go. Better make sure I don't close the portal on him. Good, that's not going to be happening. A quick mental ping later and the tear in the air vanishes.

I swipe again at the air with my left hand, and space rips open in front of me once again. Passing throuh the portal's uneventful. One minute you're in one location and then-

- The next, you're in another. I take a moment to scan my surroundings, sending another ping to close the protal. It's almost like twitching a muscle, that's the closest analogy there is when it comes to what I can do.

Nobody's on the roof.

Huh.

Huh.

It's incredibly... Empty. Nothing except for a hatch leading to the fifth floor really.

They obviously know about my quirk, I haven't been subtle when it comes to my quirk. Did they prepare for it? A rooftop deployment's one of the more obvious methods of deployment, so it's not inconceivable they'll have laid an ambush. Was that explosion on the third floor related? Could be coincidence. Doubt it.

No time for second-guessing. I make to open that hatch. A faint creak causes me to cringe internally. Hinges not oiled. Should've checked them. Rookie mistake. Must do better.

Well hopefully they're not on the fifth floor. Else I'm probably about to be filled with lasers, or something along those lines. I proceed down the stairs, quiet as can be.

I wonder what Takeshi's doing?

I wonder what Takeshi's doing?
Takeshi was currently standing outside the first floor, placing a hand to the ground. Briefly, the boy took a short breath in, and felt the odd sensation of air being expelled from the pores in his skin, filling that portion of the ground with his gas infusion. There was a click as the igniters in his palms activated, and a soft thump as the patch of ground detonated with just enough force to produce a small chunk of rock, which he quickly pocketed.

As Takeshi climbed through the now open window, he called to Shirai on his microtransceiver. "Shirai, I've just infiltrated the building. Would it be possible for you to make a note of the elevation of the first floor?", he whispered, as he searched around the room.

On one side of the corridor was an old, steel framed chair, hard and uncomfortable looking. Takeshi walked up to it,and breathed into it some more of his explosive gas, this time in a greater quantity. Perfect for a trap later on. He repeated this process on a spot on each wall, and one on the floor for good measure. "Also, which part of the building are you in right now; I'll make my way round to the respective area".

"Fifth floor. Going to see if there's a fire escape." I reply quietly, glancing about my surroundings. Clear, for now at least. I begin making my way towards the outside of the building. There should be a fire escape, shouldn't there?

Elevation though? Well, assuming the floorplan's uniform and the thickness of the ceilings're also uniform- "Yeah I've got the elevation. Call me if there's trouble, I'll maintain radio silence until I find something."

The odds're seriously stacked against the heroes for this scenario. What could go wrong...

Arisu could probably smash through walls like the kool-aid man with her armor on. Emiko can fire through walls with her quirk. I have to make sure not to make too much noise. In close quarters I probably have a shot against Emiko, but against someone with that much armor on? Forget about it. Focus on the task at hand. Not much time has passed but with only fifteen minutes we don't have a whole lot of time.

Fire escape located. If there's a stairwell in the building they'll probably be lying in ambsh there, it's an easy chokepoint. Time to make my way down to the fourth floor. Where was that hole on the third floor again? Don't know. Doesn't matter, keep moving.

"Noted. I'll start setting up. Over and out" Takeshi responded.

As he moved as quickly and quietly as possible around the first floor, Takeshi began using his quirk to turn small areas of floor and ceiling into mines primed for detonation if any fire touched them. Not enough to seriously injure, but enough to hurt someone caught in them. He did the same for any objects he found, roughly one or two in each corridor.

There's a strong possibility that all this could be wasted effort, but all the same, having somewhere where we can fight on our own terms is important. The enemy will almost certainly have tried to alter the environment close to the bomb to suit their respective needs or to counter our quirk. Iida set a good example for that last round, and if people don't follow his example, well, someone isn't taking this seriously enough.

Soon, the corridors of the first floor were a veritable danger zone of hidden traps, leaving only the rooms to prime for anybody portaled down here.

Shoku, who had been sizing his new partner up with artisan's gaze ever since the ballots had been drawn, scoffed at the almost excessively pretty teen's remarks. "A good job won't be enough. Did you not hear All Might? Your best has become merely the norm, and what lies beyond your target." He shook his head while wearing a disapproving look on his sharp face as he approached Yu. "Honestly Daradara, it's like you haven't realized the extent of the burden of expectations yet."

"Putting that aside, I commend you for your discretion and willingness to cooperate and strategize." He continued, expression softening a bit and a small smile creeping up on him "The discretion is wasted on me, however. My quirk was broadcast on national television in full detail the moment it was discovered, so keeping it a secret is utterly useless. I am capable of indefinitely heating and deheating any metal that is not an internal part of someone's biology and telekinetically controlling it once it is in a liquid state. If there is a limit to how much I can control at a time and how far the telekinesis can reach I have not found it yet."

Shoku redirected his gaze to screens, intently studying not the combatants and their performance but the environment they were doing battle in. "And we seem to be in luck. Our battlefield looks to have no shortage of metals whatsoever. Which is why I won't be needing these for now either." He opened the pouch at his side and passed a handful of shiny bearing balls to Yu, each of them about the size of a die. "That black oily stuff I saw you secrete yesterday, am I correct in assuming it is flammable? If so then these will aid you even more they usually would. If you give me a sign I'll heat them for you as you throw one. Should cover some of your bases, should it not?"

A vein popped on Daradara's forehead. His partner had really came across as a pretentious asshole, but he dulled his gut reaction to lash out in order to listen to what his partner had to say. What he heard annoyed him.

"Hmph, my old man never mentioned it to me, but I never listen to him about that kind of stuff anyway. Sounds like you made a splash." He said, closing his eyes for a moment to wonder if Yoganin knew of his history. He wouldn't dwell on it for now. It wasn't important. What he gave him, on the other hand was.

His partner didn't know that his form was malleable, and that if he went too far...Yu shuddered at the potential for catastrophe. He took them, but he didn't discard the possibility that his trust in others would be found wanting. He might have to throw these away when Yugonin wasn't looking

He grunted in affirmation. "It would be helpful..." He could imagine how dangerous he would be if his untreated oil boiled. He could melt people with that kind of heat...which is the kinda power this lucky bastard carried around everyday. Damn it all.

"The heroes are going to be gunning for you first, and with a damn good reason." He grumbled noticeably. That kinda power didn't have a 'safe' option. A single mistake could kill or seriously injure one of their classmates, and considering the situation they were gonna get into...

He spoke slowly, so as to clearly convey his fears. "So don't panic and screw us all over by destroying the structural integrity of the building, or lopping off someone's torso while you're distracted. Maybe you heard this advice before, but I do not want to get caught up in a tragedy, okay?"

He tapped his foot and looked at the screen showcasing the current match. "I can still be useful without your help, don't you worry." He uttered, self conscious. Leaving his partner to do all the work left a bad taste in his mouth.

"I can set up areas that you could boil over. It'll hurt like a bitch, but better scalded that melted I think."

Waaah! That's right, the quirk test thingy the other day wouldn't have been enough to explain it just because I used it a lot! I should have explained it right off the bat after all.

"Right! So, it's like everyone has some gross sticky stuff inside of their hearts you know? And that's normal, but sometimes stuff happens that makes it spread out of control like an infection or mold on a over ripe fruit! Cuz' that's what it smells like too or a bit like wine-" I grimace on instinct. Mom used wine in cooking once in a while and always told me not to touch anything alcoholic because I was young, but once I decided to try it anyway when she wasn't looking. Just a sip. Soooo grooooossss! Never again! I smile again,

"I can smell it and kinda taste it like how a snake does. And it's like a gross horrible sweet darkness just clogging up a person's heart until that's all they can feel. My quirk lets me drain out the bad feelings though! " I beam up at Nawa-chan. "I've got three ways of doing it, the closer the better. It won't make the things making it go away though... I can only eat up the overflows. Like how drains make sure that streets don't flood! Or medicine clears up an infection but doesn't heal a wound by itself."

I bring up my right hand and coax the waiting energy to bubble up, taking less than a second to extend talons over my fingers. The inky black surface almost completely matches the glove of my costume and seems unimpeded by the fabric. So amazing!

"Then, my body transforms the badness into a kind of energy that I can use to make my body stronger or solidify into neat stuff like claws or ribbons! It has to be attached to me though! Can't throw it around, and the stuff can only stretch two meters from me or it'll just dissolve."

I let the claws fade away as smoke. It seems like Nawa-chan is thinking! Aaah, I hope she thinks my quirk is cool!

"Oh, I can bite people to make them paralyzed for a minute too! That's the fastest way to fill up! But it's really rude to just randomly bite people. I'm sure it'll be fine in this case though, since we're the bad guys! Kkhiihihi~"

Huh. That was definitely a...Quirk.

That was definitely a Quirk.

Ah no, Nawa can't say anything, that'd be super hypocritical, but.....it makes her rather uneasy. "That's pretty scary, to control somebody's emotions like that." Oops, she blurted it out anyway. Good thing Brain Spike is always an asshole, and she can just pretend to keep on going with her act. She narrows her eyes and crosses her arms, just to sell it more.

"In that case, you'll find a more frontal assault better. For us, it might be better to take the lead in the upcoming fight since we'll probably just lead them straight to the target if we wait. "

Casting her attention to her strings, she considers the state of her opponents. Arata feels like he's getting physically more and more energized which probably means he's still totally cheating and starting early, unless that was part was an uncontrollable effect of his Quirk. He's currently rather thoughtful and real sluggish feeling too.

Riku, was also in pretty good condition, and kind of full-seeming? Hmm~ She was nervous and excited in equal amounts.

"I think...." an emanation of sly humor from Arata, "Arata-chan totally just made a pun just now. But that's not important!" Ack, it's too easy to go off on a real tangent. Nawa shakes her head and refocuses, considering how to relay the spread of information and her own thoughts. She taps her toe, in pseudo-impatience.

"He's gathering energy, probably in order to fuel his Quirk, so I think it is safe to assume that he needs time to be effective. That would be would be further supported by the fact that he claims his power is more usable in defensive situations. The other one is really feeling full, so that is likely in relation to her Quirk? Or maybe she stuffed herself at breakfast, who knows. She's a wild card in this situation since we don't know about her quirk at all."

Nawa continues. "In any case, none of them are feeling very aggressive right now, so I think they are not going to be the type to chase after us first. In which case, it might be better to strike first. Either we both abandon the missile and strike fast, or I leave it up to you to take them down while refuging in audacity and stand guard over the missile and hope they overthink it and leave it as a trap."

Stretching her fingers one by one, Nawa concludes, "We can probably work it out, but this is a team exercise after all. It'll be up to the both of us to work together, so if you have any thoughts about the plan, that'll be good to share now."

I reflexively sniffed the air, breathing in the surrounding scents. The pungent aroma of paint, concrete, metal, etc. filtered through my nostrils, when I recognized the foreign presences. Prey had entered the premises. One on the first floor, and one on the roof.

These poor children know not that they have already stepped into the belly of the beast. Illuminate their folly with a merciful but firm hand, my Dear.

Yes, My Lady.

"Izawa-san," I spoke through the communicator. "One is entering through the first floor now, and one is on the roof. I'm moving to engage the one descending from the roof."

Even as I spoke to my ally, I was already in motion. My hulking form was eerily silent as it rushed through the complex.

"The one on the ground floor is skulking around, touching the floor and ceiling everywhere, even the corridors, like they're laying traps," I said. Wondering if it was Matsuda-san or Shirai-san on each floor. Shirai-san didn't seem to need to touch something to use his Quirk, but then again, it could be a hidden weakness or application. I thought it was more likely to be his ally.

After I stashed the bomb in a new location, I began stalking the one descending from the roof. He shouldn't hear me as I inched closer to his location. From the fourth floor, my hungry gaze bore through the ceiling straight to the fifth as if it were no obstacle. Indeed, I saw each footfall, heard every breath, and felt the very beating of his pulse as if he were in the palm of my hand.

Steel yourself, my Childe. Clad your body in armor and fortify your heart. You are such a kind girl, but now you need your other half. You need the feral Beast born from our lands. Absolve yourself of hesitation because it will only shackle you and dishonor your opponents. If you seek to force their surrender without claiming their lives, then you must not falter when you shatter their bodies and bruise their egos.

I mentally nodded as I did as My Lady asked, growing larger, sturdier, in accordance with her wishes. As he exited the fifth floor window and got onto the fire escape, I lay my body flush against the wall, like a child slumbering in its mother's womb, waiting to be born.

@Generic_Generica

When I knew my opponent was on the other side, in the middle of descending, I moved, bulldozing through the wall, tearing through concrete and steel like they weren't even there. Contrary to the movements I showed during the physical evaluation that put me in the upper half, I moved with twice the speed I had displayed in the past, eclipsing anything I had seen Shirai-san use. Perhaps, he too had been holding back during the evaluations. I hoped so. I liked a challenge.

At this point, I had put on another two foot and nearly weighed around five hundred pounds, but neither of these seemed to affect me in the least. My reach was longer now too. My arms lanced out on both sides, like a crocodile's jaws snapping shut on its prey. I could aimed to strike him and break his bones, but I was trying to grapple him. As long as I could grab his body, I thought victory would be mine. In my heart, I would admit this was fueled by the naivete I could not snuff out.

I specifically waited till my enemy, who I now knew to be Shirai-san, was in the middle of descending between steps. When a person walked, they briefly left contact with the ground, leaving them off balance. It was a small window of opportunity, but I would stack any edge I could get. It's what a good Predator would do. Nature had no need for false bravado, only cold, hard results.

Now, what would Shirai-san do? Move forward? Move backward? Either way it was only a matter of time. I should be faster, and I was still ramping up my speed like a top of the line race car. Furthermore, I could turn on a dine, so even if he evaded I would still chase him down. Then would he attack me? I honestly didn't know about his attack power, having not seen him use his Quirk offensively. The power to cleave space was fearsome. I did not know how my current form that was as durable as steel would stand up against his Quirk. I did not fear death, but if he thought to maim or take my life, I would stop holding back. I still held out hope that I could capture him without breaking his bones, but if he came at me with lethal intent, that would evaporate like water on a steaming Summer day.

To be honest, the one thing I was uncertain about was his Quirk. If he merely had to touch his wormholes to escape then there was nothing I could do to stop him, but if he needed to move his physical mass through the wormhole then I was unafraid. I could merely chase after him. With my current speed, there was no way I'd let him move his whole body through. If he was willing to give up one of his limbs during a test, then I could only concede and applaud his resolve.

"Tell me if they teleport," Emiko simply replied before rising from the piece of rubble she was sitting in and started towards the staircase. She didn't know how Arisu knew where the heroes were, but she didn't want to pry and simply walked to the only staircase inside the building, deciding to ambush the one coming from the bottom floor in there (hopefully, she could notice him before he would notice her and literally get the drop on him).

She also heard the sound of a wall being broken the second time that day. Was that Matsuda, or Arisu?

"Suzushina-chan, are you okay?" She asked quietly as she continued to observe the flight of stairs, hoping that no one was hurt.

"I see you've mastered the art of the understatement..." He muttered with a pained expression. Despite his casual tone earlier when mentioning the incident, it appeared to be quite the sore spot to him.

"I am aware of my quirk's... risks, believe me." he replied after a moment's deliberation "That is why I am planning to force them to surrender rather than beat them in a fight, though Adolfson will likely have to be ground into submission. Dragons are known for their flames, after all."

"If you yet need to gather materials, I suggest you do so now. I'm eager to start this exercise." He said to Yu after finally turning back to face him directly. There was a strange twinkle in his eyes that stood in direct contrast to the serious and grave demeanor he had been wearing all this time. As though there was a different person slumbering underneath that was itching to get out and work its magic, whatever that could entail.

Yu looked at his partner quizzically. What did this guy do?

Yu grunted. "Just making sure. I apologize for any offense. You made it this far, so you probably don't want to mess it up."

The giant of a boy patted what looked like grafitti canisters by his side, and meaningfully shook his gauntlets in front of Yugonin.

"I'm all set." He replied a tad nervously. He didn't look like he much wanted to get in a fight with his classmates.

He spoke up again. "Don't forget about that creepy looking girl." He had been looking at her from afar. She somehow drew his eyes more than the massive dragon boy beside her, and not because of any arousal. She had red eyes. Bad news.

"Let's just get this over with already." He muttered to himself. He would rather be doing rescue training than combat. Hopefully that was going to come later in the semester.

He set off for the building.

The wall exploding? Came out of nowhere. Completely out of nowhere. I pivot on my heels to face the explosion, arms outstretched for balance as time seems to slow down.

That's definitely Arisu, reaching out towards me. Shit. Shitshitshitshitshit.

I'm tipping backwards, off the fire escape. Surprise'll do that to you. In the split second that I have, as her arms're reaching around to grab me, I evaluate the situation and act accordingly. No time to analyze, I need to act.

I shift my center of gravity to the back and I end up swandiving right off the fire escape, back first. My right hand moves and a rift opens up right beneath me. Destination? Top of the building right across from this building.

Here's hoping she doesn't grab onto me. Or follow me. I can feel sweat dripping down my brow.

Well, uh, up my brow because I'm falling head-first but you know, that sort of thing's relative.

Arisu? Definitely Arisu. Larger. Definite enhancement quirk. Not coming at me with lethal force, is aiming to grapple instead of break bones judging by her posture. How did she know where I was? Sensory component? Possibly. Irrelevant. Evaluate the situation. Surrounding buildings identified. Banter? No time for banter. Can't face her head-to-head. Plans're limited, incredibly limited. Very few options available.

Yes I'm running away. Yes that's a good thing. It's the only thing I can do. My right arm shifts above my head and a portal opens up, right underneath me. Exit point's locked in.

Takeshi knew something had fucked up when he heard the crash from somewhere up above him. Generally, the sound of a wall breaking was not really a good sign.

Wow, things went to shit that quickly? We barely just got started and things are already heating up. If they're throwing around destructive techniques like that, we might have to be taking this even more seriously than we expected.

Of course, the biggest concern, for now, was his teammate. If things were going wrong and they weren't happening to Takeshi, then Shirai must have walked into some kind of trouble, and of the two of them, he was the least combat orientated. Takeshi raised a hand to his microtransceiver, calling into his comrade.

"Shirai, Respond! What the hell just happened?!"
