I reflexively sniffed the air, breathing in the surrounding scents. The pungent aroma of paint, concrete, metal, etc. filtered through my nostrils, when I recognized the foreign presences. Prey had entered the premises. One on the first floor, and one on the roof.
These poor children know not that they have already stepped into the belly of the beast. Illuminate their folly with a merciful but firm hand, my Dear.
Yes, My Lady.
@Itaywex
"Izawa-san," I spoke through the communicator. "One is entering through the first floor now, and one is on the roof. I'm moving to engage the one descending from the roof."
Even as I spoke to my ally, I was already in motion. My hulking form was eerily silent as it rushed through the complex.
"The one on the ground floor is skulking around, touching the floor and ceiling everywhere, even the corridors, like they're laying traps," I said. Wondering if it was Matsuda-san or Shirai-san on each floor. Shirai-san didn't seem to need to touch something to use his Quirk, but then again, it could be a hidden weakness or application. I thought it was more likely to be his ally.
After I stashed the bomb in a new location, I began stalking the one descending from the roof. He shouldn't hear me as I inched closer to his location. From the fourth floor, my hungry gaze bore through the ceiling straight to the fifth as if it were no obstacle. Indeed, I saw each footfall, heard every breath, and felt the very beating of his pulse as if he were in the palm of my hand.
Steel yourself, my Childe. Clad your body in armor and fortify your heart. You are such a kind girl, but now you need your other half. You need the feral Beast born from our lands. Absolve yourself of hesitation because it will only shackle you and dishonor your opponents. If you seek to force their surrender without claiming their lives, then you must not falter when you shatter their bodies and bruise their egos.
I mentally nodded as I did as My Lady asked, growing larger, sturdier, in accordance with her wishes. As he exited the fifth floor window and got onto the fire escape, I lay my body flush against the wall, like a child slumbering in its mother's womb, waiting to be born.
@Generic_Generica
When I knew my opponent was on the other side, in the middle of descending, I moved, bulldozing through the wall, tearing through concrete and steel like they weren't even there. Contrary to the movements I showed during the physical evaluation that put me in the upper half, I moved with twice the speed I had displayed in the past, eclipsing anything I had seen Shirai-san use. Perhaps, he too had been holding back during the evaluations. I hoped so. I liked a challenge.
At this point, I had put on another two foot and nearly weighed around five hundred pounds, but neither of these seemed to affect me in the least. My reach was longer now too. My arms lanced out on both sides, like a crocodile's jaws snapping shut on its prey. I could aimed to strike him and break his bones, but I was trying to grapple him. As long as I could grab his body, I thought victory would be mine. In my heart, I would admit this was fueled by the naivete I could not snuff out.
I specifically waited till my enemy, who I now knew to be Shirai-san, was in the middle of descending between steps. When a person walked, they briefly left contact with the ground, leaving them off balance. It was a small window of opportunity, but I would stack any edge I could get. It's what a good Predator would do. Nature had no need for false bravado, only cold, hard results.
Now, what would Shirai-san do? Move forward? Move backward? Either way it was only a matter of time. I should be faster, and I was still ramping up my speed like a top of the line race car. Furthermore, I could turn on a dine, so even if he evaded I would still chase him down. Then would he attack me? I honestly didn't know about his attack power, having not seen him use his Quirk offensively. The power to cleave space was fearsome. I did not know how my current form that was as durable as steel would stand up against his Quirk. I did not fear death, but if he thought to maim or take my life, I would stop holding back. I still held out hope that I could capture him without breaking his bones, but if he came at me with lethal intent, that would evaporate like water on a steaming Summer day.
To be honest, the one thing I was uncertain about was his Quirk. If he merely had to touch his wormholes to escape then there was nothing I could do to stop him, but if he needed to move his physical mass through the wormhole then I was unafraid. I could merely chase after him. With my current speed, there was no way I'd let him move his whole body through. If he was willing to give up one of his limbs during a test, then I could only concede and applaud his resolve.
