Reasons I don't want to check the burrow...
- It's really pretty unlikely that there's anything of value in this particular burrow. If the poisoned Nezumi collapsed, and if he managed to make it to a burrow first, there's no real reason to believe that this was the burrow he made it to.
- It will take time. Time=exhaustion. Exhaustion is the enemy
- As with the last burrow we checked, there may be some sort of hostile infestation inside. We could run afoul of it... which would be *bad*. Even if we don't run afoul of it, dealign with it is pretty much guaranteed to take more time and effort... ie, more exhaustion.
- In the highly unlikely event that we *do* find our fallen friend... what then? If he's alive and well, he doesn't need us. If he's alive and unwell, we can't afford to stay to care for him. Our jade is almost done already. We also can't carry him with us. Two Nezumi are going to be more than we can handle. If he's dead... we gain nothing except the knowledge that he is dead.
On the flip side... our passenger seems to have regained lucidity. He's clearly recovering... and he *doesn't* have to worry about the taint. It might make sense to leave him in the burrow, where he'll be relatively safe, with some food, so that he can finish recovering on his own. It would depend on how well he is. If he still needs help, we wouldn't want to abandon him, but if he's pretty much able to handle the rest of his own recovery, taking him into territory that's about to be under massed Shadowlands attack (or collapsing in exhaustion out among the rocks with him on our backs) isn't going to do him any favors.
At one level I don't like it - because actually carrying him in shows the Nezumi (who have sacrificed much) that we've kept faith with them. At another level, it might be the best for all involved. Thoughts?
Also,
@Winged Knight, what state *is* he in?
