Glory of the Emerald Empire (Legend of the 5 Rings Quest)

[X] Hit the Great Traitor with your tetsubo before he can get up again. Beat him into the ground.

Guys, like, this is a dramatic moment and all but just let the guy make his own decision. He knows what he's doing. Meanwhile, we can do something actually productive.

I know that this thing is not a Shadow lands creature, but if we still have the finger of Jade is there any way that we can either break off a piece or drive the whole finger into the Great Traitor possibly using our Tetsubo as a hammer.

If it does do anything to it at all it would also serve the benefit of driving home to the Dragon Clan why the Crab has such a pressing and valid need for it.

Okay, we shall see what's going on on GotEE-

Which is why you are quite surprised when the leader of the Ronin moves in front of you, taking the full force of that attack straight to his helmeted face. There is a sickening crack as metal and wood falls away, revealing black hair streaking with gray as it tumbles down his shoulders. You see blood, too, fly off along with the shattered remains of the man's helmet as the force of the strike whips his head to the side…

And see that he has Moto Shinichiro's face! It is worn and weather beaten, true, and tanned from long exposure to the sun. Even still, you cannot fail to recognize those handsome features. They are more rugged than those the shadow-touched abomination held before his scourging, and he is clean shaven, but the resemblance is undeniable.

This Ronin is, without a doubt, Moto Shinichiro.

I... wut.

This... oh wow. The plot thickens in so many ways.

"The enemy or your enemy is the enemy of your enemy. No more. No less."

The real Slim Shady Moto Shinichiro or not, this dude has come to aid us and Akio instead of simply destroy us there. Maybe he never tried to do something before because he was surrounded by well trained Mirumoto troops, but if this was a gigantic scheme from his part... he would have done something about it.

Maybe accept the help for now, and ask later? Also, remember that while this ronin could have simply commit seppuku to cleanse their shame, they decided to go ronin and cleanse their sin the hard way. I believe *this* exact situation is the whole reason of why they did what they did. Pummel the Shadowland scum first. Questions will come later.

So, just to be clear, are you all just aiming to hit Moto Shinichiro or are you aiming anywhere specific on his body like a limb or his head? Are you wanting to perform a maneuver like knockdown or disarming? Will you go Full Attack or Regular attack?

Sorry to poke everyone on this, but I'm just curious as to how you all want to go about doing this and want to remind you all that you've got options other than just regular strikes. I want to make sure to accommodate everyone in case you want to be fancy.

well, right now he's prone right? is there an action in the system where we hit him with our club to keep him prone? or would the closest thing be a readied action to knock him back down when he tries to stand up?

He's not so much prone as on all fours, so he can react quickly as opposed to someone flat on their belly or back. A knockdown maneuver would send him to the ground, but there's an opposed strength roll to that. That may or may not end well for you all.

As a freebie, I'll let you know that his Armor TN is lowered because he Full Attacked last round.

-[X] Try to disarm him!

I think we're better off letting Akio decide whether this guy is trustworthy.

- [x] target the right wrist with a golf drive to smash his weapon from his grasp.
- [x] If there is enough raise left over then removing the support might make him faceplant but the disarm is primary.
- [x] keep on striking at limbs to move them as he tries to put weight on them. We can't match him for strength or cripple him but we might have enough power to keep dropping him with reaps and sweeps.
- [x] if he looks our way then bat to the eyes - one point of damage won't make him need to blink and flinch but he probably will at least the first time.
[x] Akio can make up his own mind.

Uh...This is stupid as fuck.

Are there ANY good clones at all? Cause this might just be another damn clone doing a false flag bullshit.

THEN AGAIN, the bastard during the tea shop wanted us to kill the damn bastard and knew there was a "Good" clone, so they just wanted us to kill all clones, good or bad.

Umm, I don't know exactly what the various combat actions do, but I want to hit him! Whats the difference?

There are options to hit him by calling raises. You can make a called shot on any part of Shinichiro's body, or we can attempt to disarm him (like what the large vote attempts to do, which is 3 raises). We can also try to knock him down (two raises, and a contested STR roll), or increase our damage (+1k0 to damage rolls for each called raise for that matter). Since Shinichiro is on Full-attack, he has his armor lowered by 10 for this round.

Going nuts would be recommended here.

These all are reffered as "Maneuvers" and you can find them in the L5R Core Book.

Canonically a pair of clones decided to just leave Mainland Rokugan and go live in the colonies as a couple. Now whether they were good is another matter entirely, but there was a distinct lack of evil deeds iirc.

Do note that you can't make attacks as a simple action yet, so you'll do these things in order over several turns while Shinichiro responds. And he does have attacks as simple actions so he can hit you twice. I think this is all right in general, but just keep in mind most combat updates will only cover two or three rounds at most to ensure that a string of bad rolls doesn't just murder you with no chance to adjust strategy.

I hope this is more a response over just how crazy the situation has gotten rather than a lack of enjoyment over the updates. If it's the latter, then all I can say is I'm sorry and that I'll do my best to ensure the next few updates work better.

@Winged Knight , did the guy with glowing blue eyes who tried to steal Akio's fancy mask have an accent?

If not I vote for
[X] encourage him to take Shinichiro's hand
And
[X] go help Shinjo Wanli.

Could be that this is the Original Shinichiro and the entire clone army thing was started by an Clone. But who the fuck knows.
