Glorious Shotgun Princess, Thread 3

To get back onto topic, I'm wondering where that little mini Iri came from?
Iri is Auto's favorite granddaughter. She followed her PawPaw everywhere and only wants to help him as much as she can because he is the bestestbest PawPaw ever and...

You get the idea.

Wait, so if I get this correctly then Auto has been in the ME verse for longer than creation has existed, and has enough Alchemicals that probably nothing in either verse can actually threaten them physically.

...

Wait a minute.

Mnemon is in the ME-verse now. Apparently, a significant chunk of her House went with her.

The Scarlet Empress is still incommunicado, and probably assumed to be dead.

Does this mean that the Roseblack wins the succession crisis by default?

Because, you know, that's a thing that would be happening pretty quickly after people realize that Mnemon isn't just taking a long weekend at a spa or something.

That's assuming that V'Neef hasn't moe'd her way into the throne, what with her ingenious "WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE MNEMON" advertising campaign.

Also possible is that things go to complete shit sooner if enough people point fingers at the Roseblack.

Which is likely, because this is the Realm we're talking about.
Granted, but the people who actually matter know that disappearing a sizable chunk of House Mnemon along with its matriarch is beyond Tepet Ejava's capabilities. At the very least, somebody would have noticed something beforehand.

More to the point, with Mnemon gone and her House gutted, the Roseblack can probably take the throne anyway. Better to let her do that and then get to work undermining her at every turn than to stand in the way of her inevitable triumph.

Although if the Regent was actually hiding some degree of competence between his creepy, vapid exterior, the disappearance of the person most likely to have him killed if he demonstrated said competence would open up some opportunities.

That campaign doesn't work as well when Mnemon isn't there anymore.

One thing that should be noted is what, in fact, the thematics of Yu Shan are.

Yu Shan should not be a wuxia action film.

It should be a hardcore Telenovella.

Hands folded on the table in front of him, his head rests between his elbows. The slow and steady rise of his shoulders confirms he is alive, though the steady padding of the hammer in the blue-eyed woman's hand suggests that will soon change.

A snort, and yellow eyes open. Kal'Reegar sits up in his chair, grabs his pen, and nods. "Nap's done. Wuffles, you need to power down or sleep?"

"We do not, Creator Kal'Reegar. However, we must consult with you on possible irregularities in duplicate copies of these documents." Wuffles reaches into the pile next to him, two hands pulling out two folded and marked papers. Kal nods, reaching into the arranged stack next to him.

"Lay it on me, buddy."

A door to the side- one which was not apparently any more than a panel of wood- opens and a woman with long black hair and green eyes walks in. Clad in translucent green and black skirts, the slim figure glides across the room, eyes locked on the collection of gods and the odd Journeys. Spotting Siaka sitting on a claimed desk and padding her hammer, she walks over to her.

"They haven't escaped?" May Blossom asks.

Iron Siaka shakes her head, slow and steady.

"You stopped them?" the green-eyed woman asks.

"They. Haven't. Tried." The words are said slow, low and accompanied by the sounds of grinding teeth. "I. Said. I. Was. Going. To. Take. A. Leak." She works her jaw, glancing between the two, and the slowly rising piles of 'Done' forms. "They were there. When I. Got back."

May Blossom, Chosen of Secrets, blinks. "They like doing paperwork what is this."

It must be so sad for Drill Instructor IRON MEGA-SHARK that her pupil/victim is polite, diligent and efficient when faced with a yeddim's weight in forms.

Well in regards to the civil war without Memnon one of the biggest uniting factors for the other houses is lost, after all there where enough alliances purely to prevent her ascension. And not it might be time for her older brother to take back the field as after all the Roseblack is young, honest, and way out of her league.

The fact that Mnemon was still alive is enough evidence for me to discount that.

She seems like the 'over my dead body, but preferably yours' type.
Oh, if anyone can get away with this, it's her little sister.

That and V'Neef intentionally plans her appearance every day to look as moe as humanly possible. Superhumanly possible. Also, has plausible deniability that she planned this advertising campaign, after all, she doesn't run her House too tight and there's always the lost eggs she keeps picking up~

Nah, Ragara doesn't have a chance for the throne. He's senile, and is likely to die even sooner than Cathak Cainan [1]. And the Roseblack is mostly backed by the Anyone But Mnemon Faction and the She's A Useful Weak Ruler Faction, and so with Mnemon vanished, she'll lose the support from the ABM faction.

Yeah, I'd have to say, V'neef's suddenly got quite a bit closer to the throne. She's young, she's much less experienced (so people will think she'll be easier to handle), she has incredible blood purity, and she's just so damn moe that people go "she's not a threat, really". Which is something you'd think people wouldn't do, given that she is, you know, the daughter of the Empress, but there you go.

... of course, given that the Empress looks like Hannah Sheppard, and Mnemon looks like Jane, I think we're in for good odds that V'neef looks like Jenny, except with flowers naturally growing in her hair and eyes which change colour to match the seasons and the plants which are currently blooming.

Hmm. But that does mean that... which relative of Jane's does Lilun most look like?

[1] Who would be Kejak's preferred choice for the throne, as he's an honourable, popular, efficient and effective senior Dragonblood who's the leader of the largest House and is well-liked among the other houses, and who's a faithful Immaculate and who doesn't know about the Sidereals. Unfortunately, he's not a sorcerer and is old enough that he probably only has a few decades left in him, which means people are going "He'd make a great Emperor... but if we picked him, we'd have another one of these conflicts in a few decades, and we don't want that".

Wouldn't work, he's an Exalted. They have pretty much set age limit.
*looks at the "impossible" shit the Exalted did in the past*

Isn't that sentence a kind of logical oxymoron? :p /not-serious&joking

No. It's one of the things in the setting. Exalts have an actual life-span. It runs into the thousands of years for some, but it's there. Also, people were surprised when the first solar exalt died of old age in the First Age.

The Nomad said:
No it wouldn't. There was a reason why the First Age Solars went to war when one of their numbers died for the first time, if the problem was solvable by simply getting the right kind of Heart-Stone then one of Creations most bloody wars would have never occured.

The Exalted have an age limit built in, and while an Exalt of sufficent power can increase their lifespan, but Infernals and Abyssals can get immortality

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!

No, it's Abyssals and Alchemicals with Immortality. Not INFERNALS... those bastards by default have a short life span.

That is why I put "/joking" at the end of the post.

The Gem of Immortality directly bypasses that problem.

Because it looks at your aging process, punches it in the throat and tells it to go the fuck away, and your aging process wisely does exactly what the incredibly rare and powerful five-dot earth-aspected gemstone tells it to (go the fuck away and leave you alone).

Of course since the Bronze Faction has one, and they didn't give one to the Empress either when they had the opportunity, I doubt Cainan would get it (though, admittedly, unlike Cainan, the EMpress knew about the Sidereals. Cainan would be a much better candidate for a Gem of Immortality.)

(But seriously, the Gem of Immortality is right there in the 2nd Edition Corebook. Don't spout stuff you have no idea of if you can't even be arsed to even google "Exalted Gem of Immortality". It's not magic, you know. Google, that is. The hearthstone totally is magic.)
