- Hailshot Blunderbuss
- Fire Throwers - Adapted from Ankorite Drakeguns and Skaven Warpfire Throwers by Khazak The Fireforged. Deadly, even to their users, who must make sure not to break the fuel-tanks. Usually mounted on armoured carts, or fortress walls.
- Magma Throwers - Sprays an alchemical oil that burns like the world's lifeblood, and is difficult to extinguish.
- Firebull Throwers - Uses similar process to K'daai. The fire produced forms shapes like bulls or weapons, and seeks out enemy to smother
- Daemonfire Thrower - Inspired perhaps by the Flamers of Tzeentch. The most dangerous, as the fire produced is mixed with pure warp energy, and affects everything touched differently.
- Organic Weapons - Swords of bone that heal with time, fleshy whips that drink blood, shields that scream at attackers. All this and more are the products of Fleshcrafters, manipulators and warpers of life itself.
- Ashen Trail - Forged by Kistrus Underforge for the Hobgoblin Kahn Zarg The Ashen. Paid for with a hundred carts of treasure, and another hundred carts of slaves. Inscribed with the Rune of Magma Blades and enchanted to have the properties of Magma Wyrm skin. It it's wielder's hand it is like a dancing fire, splitting foes in half even as they burst into flame
- Horns of Hashut - Forged by Agzak The Renegade for Voznirra The Bull. Shaped like a symbol of Hashut, it has three Runes; Rune of The Bull, Rune of The Charging Bull and Rune of Hashut's Strength.
- The Ironbreaker - The enchanted hammer head was created by a Slaughtermaster slain by Uthkallan The Hunter so she could steal secrets of the Maw's Coming. Surprisingly taken with the work, she took it for her own, completing it in his stead. A haft of hardwood has been reinforced with bands of steel, that spiral upwards to a head that looks like a perfect recreation in miniature of the head of a mighty Thundertusk. The secret of its might is that the steel bands are themselves studded with Shyish Power Stones, so every blow unleashes a blast of pure, concentrated Death when it strikes, destroying everything in her path.
- Ork Eater - Created in the final years of his life by Uruk The Ashamed, once known as the Maker. From the corpses of the first four hundred and forty four rebellious Black Orcs slain by his own hands, it is a thing of flesh and bone. When used to slay Black Orcs, their blood and soul are drawn into it and it's wielder, strengthening them both. Recovered from the lone tower where Uruk went into self exile. Some claim the sword is merely a second, lesser version of a more powerful blade.
- Ironbound Change - The greataxe of Ungar Ironbound. Has three Dark Runes - Master Rune of Hashut's Strength, Rune of Magma Blade, and the Rune of Fiery Change, which was created by Ungar himself. The weapon is surrounded by an aura of multicolored fire that causes anything struck to undergo an often deadly change.
- Four Ways Undivided - A unique blunderbuss design created by Ungar Ironbound with four barrels, each dedicated to one of the Chaos Gods. When triggered, the barrels spin, allowing for the next to be fired. The barrel carrying Khorne's mark fires a ball of boiling blood, that induces a berserker rage in living beings. The next barrel holds Nurgle's mark, and launches a projectile of rusted metal and crusted pus. On impact it dissolves metal, rusting it years in a second. The barrel with Slannesh's symbol fires a fleshy ball that weeps oil, piercing deep into flesh and armour. And the final barrel has Tzzentch's symbol, firing a random projectile that induces rapid change on impact.
- The Judgement of Hashut - A warhammer made from black iron, cooled in the blood of Sacred Taurus and emblazoned with Hashut's rune. It's wielder was killed by a Black Orc Warboss called Garghul Beardburner, who yet lives and only grows stronger.
Armours
- Blackshard Armour - Rightly are the Chaos Dwarfs known as the armourers of the Dark Gods, and their creations are made not simply from iron and fire, but blood, souls and the hell-stuff of Chaos itself. Much like the Chaos Armour the Daemonsmiths sell to Warriors of Chaos, Blackshard Armour is proof against the strongest blows in battle, but is also uniquely resistant to fire and heat and so suited to the hellish environs of the Dark Lands.
- Organic Armour - Often used by Fleshcrafters, and serving as a rite of passage for Fleshists. Each is unique in form and function - perhaps a creature's skeletal structure is manipulated while still alive into a fitting suit of armor, or sturdy monsters that are purposely grown to be donned. Some Fleshcrafters jump to modifying themselves instead, adding tough scales over skin or imbuing their flesh with troll-like regeneration.
- Brazen Beard - Created by Karalgin Tharuk after his face and lungs were scarred by acid and poisonous fumes. It consists of a metal face-mask attached by tubing to a breastplate-mounted alchemical apparatus, which constantly produces a healing vapour-mixture. A lesser version of is mass-produced.
- Power Armour - Designed by Ungar The Ironbound after being disabled by the Curse of Stone. Drawing upon the design - but not too closely - of Astragoth Ironhand's Stone Mantle exo-skeleton, the amour allows his body to move despite it's petrified state. To power it, Ungar called upon and bound daemons of Tzeentch, which in turn boosted his own magical skills. He has constantly improved upon his design, and has "donated" older suits to other Dawi Zharr for favours or knowledge, particularly the latter.
- Ungar's Might - The masterpiece of Ungar Ironbound, a suit of powered armour that stands almost twice the size of man. Constructed from black iron cooled in the blood of slaves, it is engraved with a somewhat biased version of the Deamonsmith's life story, from his time as an Apprentice, to the incident that saw his Curse of Stone rapidly progress, to his creation of his first Warpstone Generator. Installed on the chest piece is the Warpstone Generator, named the Generator of Hashut, which not only powers the armour but boosts Ungar's spells. The helmet of the armour is in the shape of a bulls head, and can detach from the rest of the armour. The armour itself is worn over a powered exoskeleton, and can open up to allow Ungar to walk in or out with ease.
Artefacts
- Krun Hashut
- Conclave Key - Held by the Master Of The Conclave, currently Ghorth the Cruel. Not only is it the key of the Conclave's meeting hall, it can open many things real and unreal...
- Emerald of Udaipur - An enchanted gem, given to Consul Arghung The Placid by as a sign of friendship an Indan Raja. Gives it's wearer and those around them troll-like regeneration.
- The Tome of Taken Secrets - Written by Uthkallan The Hunter. This book is not bound in human flesh. It is written in plain ink, not watered blood nor worse. Indeed, it is a relatively plain thing, the only real decoration being a ruby carved into the shape of an ouroboros. No sigils of protection guard its secret. Perhaps Uthkallan is merely bold enough to believe it shall never be taken from her; perhaps it is simply old and outdated, perhaps soon to be replaced. What is certain is that the mystical knowledge contained within could make even the lowliest of wizards a threat to even the Loremasters of Hoeth; and for Uthkallan herself it makes the Winds willing subjects to her commands, above and beyond what should be possible.
- The Oxhide - Created by Uthkallan The Hunter. A long cloak of Lammasu hide worked until soft and supple, coloured red and edged with purple silk, with a ouroboros dyed in gold at the perfect centre. Spells and enchantments of protection swirl around the bearer, causing potent but extremely brief bursts of fire to char burn and destroy all things that seek to strike her; flesh can resist it, but mere metal cannot.
- The Iron Caller - A ring forged by Uthkallan The Hunter under the guidance of the Shamans of Norsca, it is full of all manner of Chamon. She can, for a brief time, turn her flesh to hard metal and become strong and hard for it; however, she cannot wield nor feel nor turn aside magic when in that shifted form.
Alchemical Substances
- Rejuvenation Elixirs - Over centuries of attempting to stop, or at least halt the Curse of Stone, Sorcerer-Prophets have discovered a number of ways to extend their life-spans - ones brought though the sacrifice of countless slaves. However, the majority of these processes fail to affect the Curse of Stone, and are thus useless to their creators - but perhaps not to other Dawi Zharr? Usually sold at ruinous cost in the form of foul-tasting potions, they can add years onto the standard life-span of a Dawi. However what is rarely made clear is these concoctions are addictive, with withdrawal easily killing even a short term user, and the effect lessens each time.
- Hyper Adaptive Mutagen (H.A.M)- Created by Skoggathra Jadefury, this chemical has liquified warpstone as a base component, along with many other foul things. Incredibly dangerous, it can only be stored in special thick glass cylinders inscribed with runes. When this jade-green liquid is injected to a living being, it begins to rapidly mutate. Secondary chemicals and procedures must be used to direct the transformation, otherwise the end result is highly unpredictable. It is known that when a rival Deamonsmith injected a stolen sample into a human slave, it mutated into some kind of beastman with wings, that preceded to break free and attack him. Sadly he survived to suffer Skoggathra's vengence.
- Troll Regeneration Essence - Extracted from the blood of Trolls and mixed with H.A.M. Skoggathra used the techniques of Clan Moulder to create this, although it produces fewer unstable mutations. A number of variations exist, depending on the type of Troll drawn from, each with their own side-effects.
- Bright Dust - shimmering white crystals. Grants clarity of thought, sharpness of mind and limited healing, at the cost of temporary pain. Extremely rare and expensive, stocks are limited and held primarily by the Conclave.
Weaponised
- Naphtha - Containing sorcerous concoctions of sulphurous chemicals and the filtered essence of fire-daemons sundered as a by-product of the Dawi Zharrs' dark arts, naphtha is primarily used in bombs; unstable explosive flasks which break apart into masses of seething flame.
- Blood of Hashut - a powerful alchemical substance saturated with Daemonic magic that ignites metal on contact, bursting it into molten flame. Although precious beyond mere gold, the favoured of Hashut sometimes carry a vial of this liquid into combat to the devastation of the most heavily armoured foes.
- Blood Fire - Initially developed by the Sorcerer-Priests from The Tower of Gorgoth, but perfected by Karalgin Tharuk, this substance has a rather unassuming look: a simple white powder. Despite that, it's a dangerous alchemical creation, capable of self-ignition even without particularly harsh treatment, and when combined with oils it easily sticks to skin and other surfaces. Even in raw form, it can explode violently, with burning chunks capable of searing deep holes in the unprotected flesh. Created by alchemical refinment of apatite and similar ores under high temperature.
- Wilting Oil - Invented by Karalgin Tharuk on the orders of Zhathan The Black, Wilting Oil is the precursor for many terrain-denial chemical weapons used by Dawi Zharr. Produced by mixing highly alkalic salts, liquid bitumen and daemonic blood, this substance is a thick, black oil with immense corruptive and pollutive properties; it's capable of defoliating a plant in seconds and turning grasslands into desert in few days. While it resembles rock oil, it's not flammable, but its effects on the environment are similar - a barrel of Wilting Oil poured into the ground can befoul a village's worth of terrain and render it incapable of supporting plant life for decades. It is forbidden to use it within the Darklands, to preserve what little viable farmland there is, but a large stock is kept in Zharr-Naggrund (to ensure compliance of Dawi-Zharr lords) and in border garrisons, particularly those close to south-east, for the campaigns against the Dragon Isles' Lizardmen and in-case the rumours about Wood Elves in jungles of the east were true.
- Black Smoke - The greatest creation of Karalgin Tharuk, Black Smoke is an alchemical weapon of terrifying potency. Its recipe is closely-guarded secret, but rumour has it that among the ingredients are various forms of alchemical waste, refined rock oil and sacrificial blood. Resembling black water, under normal conditions this substance quickly evaporates into thick, black vapour. Almost odourless, the Black Smoke can induce severe choking, irritates the throat and lungs when inhaled and is extremely lethal. Even skin exposure is enough to kill in a few hours and afflicted bodies have been reported to outright melt. Produced for, and only used by, the Infernal Guard.
Unique Materials
- Ashcrete - A common building material, replacing stone. Used to rapidly build basic structures, that are often torn down once more permeant buildings are complete. Is known to include the ashes of sacrificed orks - whether or not this actually makes the material more durable is unclear, but many construction workers swear by it.
Technology
- Warpstone Generators - Adapted from the technology of Clan Skyre, a technologically adept clan of Skaven, these multi-use power sources are known for being unreliable, unless great care is taken in their construction and maintenance. As warpstone is their fuel, they can also induce mutations.
- Thovor's Heart - Specially designed for Firfith Bronzebeard, in return for a number of Spider Engineers. Small enough to fit inside a Dawi's chest, it powers the metal body of Thovor Warforged and grants him the ability to spew sickly green fire.
- Flesh Prosthetics - The life of a Dawi Zharr is a hazardous one, even if they work in a factory or as a clerk, and so dismemberment is common enough. Most purchase mechanical replacements, of varying quality, but others might choose something a bit stranger; a new flesh limb, mass produced or specifically grown. Costly to be sure, but some find it worth it. Fleshcrafters also offer "improved" limbs, such as arms with higher muscle density or eyes that can see further, but these are rarely taken.
