  • [X] On the frontier. Far from proper civilization you have unfettered access to raw resources and little by the way of taxation. You are able to make large amounts of money by trading raw resources with sects from the inner lands in exchange for goods and treasures if they survive the journey. However, such pure opportunity also comes with its dangers. Demonic sects, spirit beasts, common bandits and demons plague your lands and make it difficult for you to eke out a living. When disasters do strike, your government will be slow to send aid, if they ever do at all.
[X] Nowhere. Yours is a roaming sect. Untethered and free, your outer sect members change constantly. However, the core of your sect is comprised of a well traveled and experienced core of cultivators. Spurning conventional notions of strength and wealth, your sect seeks knowledge and enlightenment above all else. You often travel and consort with righteous and demonic sects both and must be careful to keep yourself neutral while still performing jobs and mercenary work to keep your traveling troupe financially afloat.
[x] In a large inland city. A mix of both worlds, there are plenty of resources for you to exploit in the surrounding lands, but you are not the only sect in this city. You must compete with them for your resources. Able to trade with both the capital and frontier cities and sects, there is always opportunity if you can but succeed in grasping it. Demonic sects and spirit beasts can be serious issues for your sect, but most threats only threaten your trade. When disaster strikes help will be swift if you have kept good relations with your neighbors. If you haven't, then you might find a knife in your back.
[X] In a large coastal city. The most focused on trade, it is easy for your to establish routes with inland cities and even other countries! However, your unique opportunities present their own issues. Trade with foreign countries can be very profitable, but it invites great scrutiny from imperial powers. Balancing your political situation with forces both internal and external may prove challenging. Especially when you must contest with sea monsters and demonic cults. Rivalry and contests with other sects in this city is something more of a game than anything too serious. Unless things turn truly sour.

Family name (The last name. Must be unique from all other players): Zhíxíng

Patriarchs/Matriarchs name: Lai

Patriarchs/Matriarchs focus: Security

Family/Clan focus: Military first, Political second.

Clan Specialty: Policing and investigating

Clan Description/Background:The Zhìxìng clan has a long-standing tradition as law enforcers, with members and smaller branches present in various connected organizations such as the normal police, military police, and investigators for the ministers. Despite their noticeable influence, they have never had a cultivator in their history. Some have referred to it as a curse, but with Lai Zhìxìng, the curse has finally been broken. The clan elders decided to establish a secondary branch on the Frontiers of the Empire, allowing Lai Zhìxìng to prove his worth by bringing justice and punishment to hidden places away from the Emperor's gaze.

Within the Zhìxìng clan, you can find individuals of all kinds: from honest people who believe in the law as a means to protect the innocent and the weak, to those who are more focused on punishing the innocent rather than letting a criminal escape justice. However, they all share a deep respect for the laws of the Empire.

@DangerKitty Hope everything is okay.

Clan Patriarch Du Jian
Form (Pictures optional): A short dour looking man who wears a tortoise shell salakot.

Family name (The last name. Must be unique from all other players): Du

Patriarchs/Matriarchs name: Du Jian

Patriarchs/Matriarchs focus: Talismans

Family/Clan focus: Research

Clan Specialty: Formations/Arrays/Constructs

Clan description/background: The Du clan is made up of commoners who came to the frontier in search of land rather than stay in the overcrowded cities of the imperial heartland. They have had modest success eking out a place for themselves as homesteaders and millers, with some finding work as technicians servicing lifts for the local mines. But the frontiers are a turbulent place. A series of spirit beast attacks made it clear that alone their growth would be limited so they joined the sect hoping to find strength in numbers.

Family name: Cui

Patriarchs/Matriarchs name: Kongjin

Patriarchs/Matriarchs focus: Smithing

Family/Clan focus: Research

Clan Specialty: Crafting

Clan description/background: Started as a family of metalworkers, who due to a windfall became briefly wealthy enough to afford some odd cultivation arts. While many were concerned that the previous patriarch had only a daughter and no sons, Kongjin took to learning the family trade and cultivation arts with great talent, proving her name accurate indeed! For better or worse, despite being the clan's heiress and matriarch after her father retired, there are still many incidents where people outside the clan look at Kongjin's name and assume her to be male.

Family name (The last name. Must be unique from all other players): Raiko

Patriarchs/Matriarchs name: Tezo

Patriarchs/Matriarchs focus: Healing

Family/Clan focus: Military/Research

Clan Specialty: Combat First-aid, community healing.

Clan description/background: Tezo Raiko was a low ranked follower of a sect of remote and pacifist monks, but following the rise of a Warlord who fiercely persecuted the peaceful sect for refusing to help his army ravage and destroy his enemy's, fled from the area. He now attempts to restart the traditions and rituals of his now gone sect, but with a small provision in their doctrine for self-defense instead of absolute pacifism.

Family name (The last name. Must be unique from all other players): Songshan

Patriarchs/Matriarchs name: Mian

Patriarchs/Matriarchs focus: Architecture with heavy space elements in it

Family/Clan focus: Political, gathering power through Mercantile means and military aid

Clan Specialty: architecture

Clan Description/Background: starting as a small sect that slowly and steadily built itself up, only to truly blow up in power with the rise of it's Matriarch, who's talent for cultivation allowed the clan the shake off what would have otherwise been a crippling hit with the death of her father when she was young, quickly growing to fill the role, her talents led the clan to new heights, building massive structures and palaces with inbuilt formations for wealthy clients, with a flair for art, the spread of her name and fame allowed her to send builders to many places, but the clan's help in making fortresses and weapons of war for the country made some people suspicious as for what the builders sent abroad might be building in foreign countries.

Basically one of the antagonists of Sect for those that recognise her, thought she had pretty cool powers, so I wanted to make my sect based on her, without the demonic parts.

A Mortal archetecture clan would not be notable on an international or even national scale. Seems mostly okay beyond that. Not sure what you mean by antagonist of the sect, unless you are announcing your intentions to target other players publically.

Next vote post is almost done. Will prob be up tomorrow.

@DangerKitty I hope I got everything right but the thought behind this is that I didn't really see a lot of dedicated (if any) combat clan's being submitted which for a xianxia world seems…. Unadvised.

As for suggestions on the riot aspect, maybe limit the number of clans? As otherwise there will probably be a lot of clans (almost as much as players) and it will add a lot of actions to keep track of.

But then again limiting it seems somewhat unfair to those who came later so ehhh…

Form (Pictures optional): tall, black of heir and musculer

Family name: Ling

Patriarchs name: Wu

Patriarchs focus: combat

Clan focus: Military.

Clan Specialty: mounted combat/ secondary: beast rearing

Clan background: a large mortal tribe that has recently risen to prominences in the frontier, as mortals they surveyed the manifold dangers of their land by never staying long in one place preferring a nomadic lifestyle and the raising of beasts upon which they road into battle to plunder needed resources and defend their tribe both.

Swift riders and terrors on the battlefields members of this clan are supreme warriors and exalt in raising the beasts upon which they ride to battle.

Under patriarch Ling Wu they have subjugated many (mortal) towns into paying tribute and drove their competitors from prime hunting fields, becoming one of the larger (and wealthier) mortal tribes in the frontier, a fact which saw them receiving an invitation to join the newly funded sect.

I presume the Sect will allow new members to join at any time.
As a frontier sect, I guess we can't be picky.

I'm completely devoid of inspiration for my clan. -_-

I've got nothing but

The Tiger-Opened Clan
A clan that was formerly just a small group of scholars with some skill in analysis and forensics, their favourite method of study was cutting subjects open to see how they tick, their clan head discovering cultivation by accident when allowing themselves to be cut open, since the method they used to keep said clan head alive during the surgery was eerily close to a forgotten meditation method, so they kinda became a cultivator while on an operating table

The Temple's-Splendour Clan
A clan that was formerly a bunch of wandering pilgrims of various religions destroyed by other rival religions, left traversing the lands for purpose, and once they found a new ideology to call home, they held onto it and never let, go, their clan head is a random farmer that through some cosmic fluke became a cultivator, and through a series of silly accidents, a religious sect has formed around them thanks to all those pilgrims, the farmer is very scared they're gonna fuck up, they didn't ask for this

Mind if I join your clan?

Sect is a story on spacebattles, a worm cross with original xianxia setting, protagonist is a girl named Xifeng who trigger with QA and get the ghost of Taylor (protagonist of worm) in her head for her double trigger, Mian is an immortal of architecture with focus on space, mega structures and formations, antagonist of the most recent arc.

When I think how the clan would work I think mostly workers who are hired to make structures big enough to be considered at least houses but focusing mostly on big mega structure jobs, massive ships, flying castles, or those city sized Chinese palaces but with magic...

Using Feng Shui, formation and the production of high quality magical materials (not as high as what used for swords and such though, since the buildings need a lot) to make the structure from.

So if a new sect want some immortal caves or make a mountain fly to use as a base, that an example of what I think of as something the clan does.

Han was recruited from the military police and his brutal enforcement of law made him an asset. He served notably as a combat instructor for the lower ranks of the house though his blunt views on the world prevented him from ascending higher. He focused his frustrations into mastering his chosen weapon. When he learned of the fronter branch he signed up looking for a place where skills with weapons we valued more than a silver tongue.

I'm not sure how the joining thing works so here's the information maybe?

Also @Abyssius let me know if anything needs changed.

It works perfectly for me.
Not sure about how joining works, so I can't help with that, but I think Han will be a great asset for the Zhìxìng.

Its a good goal to have, i was just letting you know that you wont be able to do those things out of the gate. You have to start on a (mostly) mortal level.

As for joining other players. Ask in thread if you can join someones clan. If they approve, make a clan sheet depicting that elders background within the clan.

This allows that clan to start with as many cultivators as there are players that join it.
