Well after doing some (very quick paper only) calculations, um that artillery seems like it would need to be a rail gun to even get near the Velocity to make that distance, and while not edge of space, it would go easily (about a mile or so) above mount everest, baring anime physics in which case... Well it would probably go to the local starbucks half way through the trajectory, walk back up to the sky, then mysteriously hit its target... More inclined towards the last one.

Isn't that like complete bullshit used only for comedic purposes- alongside his stamina-? Which never makes an appearance during actual serious moments.
It's a plot point a couple of times, the fact that he physically can't run up a dozen flight of stairs results in Suzaku becoming part of the Student Council, his inability to outrun girls in full ball gowns is what creates the meeting between him and Euphie on campus.
It's like how Tamaki's uselessness is played for laughs a lot, but him legitimately forgetting to refuel the Gurren's energy container gets Kallen captured in a crucial moment and handed over to Britannia.

And his inability to run faster than Euphie prevents him from stopping her before she makes the order to her forces to massacre the Japanese in the "Euphinator" incident.

That artillery was the only thing that interested me the whole episode.

After that was an endless stream of "wut".

Especially the last part.

Anyway, something I'm having trouble with is figuring out what timespan each episode covers and how much time passes between episodes. It's never really clear.

This is simple, just don't be clear with how much time passes between chapters.
:)

FYI, Lelouch carries pistol with an internal suppressor.

[===========================]

Ohgi had taken it on himself to make sure all the other Black Knights kept a respectful distance from the bus while Zero spoke with Morgan. While it did have soundproofing, it wasn't perfect. Someone standing with their ear pressed to it would probably hear something they shouldn't. So, he sat on a folding chair about 5 meters away from the door, keeping an eye on his watch.

He'd tried not to think too much about Zero's choice to send everyone but Kallen and that strange lime-haired woman out. Unfortunately, sitting still in silence made it very hard not to think about something. Ohgi couldn't help wondering whether he had failed Zero's trust back at Mt. Fuji. Kallen had defended the secrecy of Zero's identity, while Ohgi had caved in to Taizo Kirihara's demand to see their masked leader's face.

Ohgi could accept that. Kallen was clearly more devoted to Zero, and had earned more trust. He couldn't say it didn't eat at him, though.

'You always had a stronger spine than me, Naoto...'

About 23 minutes after the private meeting had started, the door finally opened. As Zero strode out with Morgan, C.C. and Kallen following, the leader of the Black Knights turned his head to the armored woman.

"I will need time to think on your proposal... but I am strongly considering it."

"That is understandable, Zero. I would not rush into that decision unprepared, myself."

"As for other matters?"

"I can directly assist your next operation." Morgan replied as she raised her hand, her claymore suddenly ripping itself from the floor and flying into her grasp. "Please don't take me for granted, though."

"I wouldn't dare, milady."

"Charmer. I take my leave, then."

Their business concluded, Morgan walked back to her tank, which had attracted the curiosity of several Black Knights who quickly backed away when it began glowing again. The lady of war jumped back up to the roof of the turret -a clearly superhuman feat- before turning around to perform a "bow and scrape" toward Zero.

"Until next time."

The machine and its rider backed out of the garage and drove off into the ghetto. After she'd gone, Ohgi noticed Kallen looking rather anxious. He approached her and placed a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump slightly.

"Kallen, is everything alright?"

"E-everything is fine." Kallen replied, sounding unsure. "Really. I'm sorry, but what we talked about is confidential."

Ohgi could see the slightly panicked look in Kallen's eyes, which she was hiding rather well from anyone who didn't know her as personally as he did. She was shaken by something during that secret meeting. Whatever it was had to be really profound. What could have...?

"Kallen, you don't... Did Zero tell you who-?" Ohgi tried to begin, but was cut off by Kallen suddenly gripping his shoulder and looking at him dead in the eyes with a pleading expression.

"Please, don't continue that sentence. I can't talk about it. I'm... I'm still not sure what to think. Just trust me, okay?"

So, she did know. Ohgi also wanted to, but he didn't want to force Kallen to tell him. He had already betrayed Zero's trust once. He certainly didn't want to cause Kallen to lose it as well.

"Alright. You know I've always had your back. I can stand behind you on this, too."

"Thanks, Ohgi." Kallen said, visibly relaxing.

Some time later, Lelouch and C.C. walked through the underground subway tunnels they they used to travel back to Tokyo Settlement, where they would split up so as not to be seen together as they returned to Ashford Academy. The mysterious witch had been unusually quiet, and it was not until they got to the split up point that she decided to say something.

"She's not telling us everything."

"I noticed that, too. She only revealed part of the truth. You wouldn't happen to know more, would you?"

"Nothing specific to her or this 'Admiralty Code' that sent her. She represents something truly alien to this world."

"Don't tell me you're sure of that because you're also some advanced alien from another planet?"

"That would make sense, wouldn't it?" C.C. replied, smirking.

"So you're not at all, then?"

"Afraid not. That doesn't make me any more human than she is, though. Don't misunderstand me."

"Hmm..."

"Disappointed?"

"No."

C.C. didn't believe that one bit. She'd make it up to him, eventually. They were accomplices, after all.

She zips it up. And its completely smooth. Complete with built in chest support.

And then she... Folds the material... over itself and then buttons it to the side?

Okay there's fanservice and then there's impossibilities.

That. That is impossible.

I have one possible idea for how you could possibly engineer something like that. Memory materials. Admittedly that leads to the question of how in the world you could move in it. Maybe the fabric is made of or contains memory coils that expand/contract based on something, but always retain flexibility. The animators clearly just did it for fanservice though.

That's not chest support, or any other type of support for that matter, that is glue. There are certain types of glue that women wearing impractical costumes use to make the costumes stay where they are supposed to. A girl I knew called it "Butt Glue" but I don't remember if she mentioned its proper name.

In forums like this one you always learn something new every day. And makes me glad to be a man without the necessary sense of humor, preferences or blackmailable past, to personaly use this particular pearl of knowledge.

It's at this point I begin to wonder.

How did this get so popular?

The story's not even at the point where I'm going to really start struggling with the butterflies I've created.

I'm getting a paranoid feeling that my thread has turned into a hugbox. I start wondering why everyone here seems to like this and nobody at SB does.

I'm new at this, ya know?

Ehhh, I think its less that and more the main two canons of this crossover aren't 'hot' right now nor standard Sci-Fi so they don't get as much groundswell as those stories over at SB.

Of course, if the crossover was Worm, you'd be rolling in talk :p At the small small expense of having to perpetuate Worm being a thing. :V

Its not that you aren't a good writer nor is it that the story is boring.

As someone lurking at both SB and here, it's probably because I can't even find your story on SB.

There are some issues, but nothing noticeable for me.

Chill.

I'm in a similar boat with my own story. It doesn't involve a series that's "hot", as others have said, nor does it involve the main fiction of SB/SV (space stuff/dakka).

We get a few readers, but the overall count isn't gonna be as giant due to not as many trying it out. That said, you both update more often and have tinier chapters than me, so that's likely the reason you have more comments in a shorter time than me :)

Seriously, I can't. And all your index links go to the weird version of SV.

On the criticism, it's because, as you noted, hit the point where people are going to be complaining about butterflies. It's just been opening action, good opening action as a matter of fact. You haven't tripped over yourself yet, your writing qualities above average, you appear to have a good grasp of how mental processes work, and you aren't above going back and rewriting chapters so they make more sense after they're posted.
All of this, plus the fact that you generally didn't ask for criticism, so everyone here's just been kinda enjoying it.

Funny thing is that this story's kind of inspiring me to try my hand at a Worm crossover with Arpeggio of Blue Steel. The twist being that I've never actually read Worm, so you can guess that my ship's going to be running just a little blind if I ever do get around to it.

That all being said, this story updates frequently, and it's always fun seeing someone trolling the troll while matching wits with Lelouch. I personally can't wait to see what kind of new train wrecks and butterflies pop up as time goes on.

Something to consider.

I found it here first and it is easier to read it here than over again over at SB.

I want either a fog battleship or a fog mobile suit. Please bring on the dakka!

This is taking place in the 1960s, and early 70s, they don't even have nukes yet,(though in Akito it takes place after the FLIEJA I think) and have not invested the time in developing Sakuradite technology beyond what is needed for "MOAR KNIGHTMARE BULLSHIT" in terms of powerplants, so them using it towards a railgun that big, or even a Gauss rifle, is a bit beyond my Sod, I was also using reference points in the background to do some calculations for the size of the gun and munition.

Also, I find it funny that the comment about being worried the thread was a hug box instantly got a hug.

That project takes place in the 1960s and even with Knightmares, artillery is still a very valuable thing.
