As in as an OC become the Mechanist?
Yes.
As in as an OC become the Mechanist?
if you choose to be a canon character, yes.
I mean... yeah. But depending on the starting war thing... well lets just say things will be very... interesting for Aang. Especially his starting location.
Some of them might... or I might just decide that other storytelling ideas may be employed.
Belive me when I say this.
This idea came after a 16 hour playthrough of Kyoshi start date, along with me binging ATLA. The Water Tribe was extremely... extremely aggressive and destroyed the southern air Temple...
And the Fire Nation was still a warring mess, unable to properly become the superpower it was in canon... because no one unified it.
When I offered Interregnum, it's because the old world order collapsed.
Aang needs to figure out what kind of world order he wants to support, if at all.
I noticed after binging myself. ATLA shows the rise of jingoistic fascist ideology in every nation, even the losers in canon. The Fire Nation has a very American or British sort of manifest destiny and 'civilize the heathen' going on in canon (even if they obviously draw from Nazi tactics such as conditioning through education and restriction of expression). The Water Tribe leans on 'old school family values' in it's patriarchal attitudes, so their invasion would draw more from fear of social progress, which the air nomads would probably be champions of. The Earth Kingdom... well... yeah there's a reason Legend of Korra makes the Earth Kingdom the fascists there.More like time to make History yeah!
Well, here's the thing about this hundred years war era and nonbenders.
This is a time of national identity's and myths being birthed, and with a foreign power invading your nation and trying to conquer it. There really isn't a need for a non-bender rebellion, because those issues are pretty much noneissues to geopolitically, culturally and spiritually speaking... were waging Wars of national and cultural survival.
Especially in canon when the fire benders have literally already committed genocide on a massive scale already and were perfectly willing to do it again when the comet showed up.
And, on the Avatar, they are possibly the most respected person on the planet, for their never-ending quest of keeping peace and balance in the world. They may fail on occasions, but no one ever gave up hope on them doing what is right.
Hell the only reason it happened in Korra was after 70 years of peace and prosperity, and the rise of technological development that gave nonbenders the confidence to take up arms if need be, against benders, along with several new nation-states being born, and several decades of social and political development.
I won't tell you how the Air nomads became super militaristic... but I will say this.Obviously there's some craziness rooted in the Air Nomads, as well, from LoK. They've got that sort of Anarcho-Communist vibe going for them, if they enshrine the right guru. Post Kyoshi, and the utter chaos caused by Chin, it wouldn't even be unusual for them to say the heart of the problem lay with the concentration of power in the hands of traditional leaders, including the avatar. If they were the pick the only real option for them I could see making sense is a pre-emptive war to impose communal living and decentralization in all regions of the world. I... can't really see a feasible way to consolidate the Air Nomads well enough to become fascists, they're probably the only odd-ball out on that front.
Considering that their evil counterparts that are conquering the world are literally based on the worst parts of fascist Japan and Imperial china?LOL, the Earth Kingdom would have been the worst, I suspect. Dai Li (or whatever those sh!ts are called) anyone?
Oh so they went fascist but with religious ideal instead of false one just more HitlerI won't tell you how the Air nomads became super militaristic... but I will say this.
They went the way of very... extreme religious ideologies.
Believing their way is the best way for peace in the world and fighting and conquering those who disagree with them.
Are you asking me or everyone in general? How would you think fighting an army of bloodbenders would be like for the world?
Absolute HellHow would you think fighting an army of bloodbenders would be like for the world?
Well the good news is, I've made only a few blood benders powerful enough to be able to use it... without the full moon.
And I'm guessing the top dog of the antagonist is a psychic bloodbender, right?Well the good news is, I've made only a few blood benders powerful enough to be able to use it... without the full moon.
As you can guess, they are the main antagonists of the water tribe line.
... who said anything about the top dog?And I'm guessing the top dog of the antagonist is a psychic bloodbender, right?
