[X] Since the last one was so short and easy, how about you fight her? Maybe you'll even be able to come close to winning!
"… Hey, you're bored, right?" Remilia blinks, seemingly confused by the change in topic, and her eyes widen as you lean back and pull her upright.
"Why, Flandre - are you proposing?" You giggle and nod as she smiles.
"Yep!" You hop back and pull her to her feet. "We can go all-out against each other, after all." She nods slowly.
"My, my, when was the last time? Well, let's go to the basement, then." You frown.
"The basement? Why not outside?" She taps your lips gently.
"And wake the sleepers? Or keep awake anyone trying to sleep? Tsk, tsk. Besides, we wouldn't want to create a spectacle for someone to worry Reimu over, now would we?" You clap your hands and nod.
"Oh, yes! Lulu and Ilya need their sleep, and they'd probably worry if they woke up to us fighting without knowing what's going on." Remilia smiles and holds out her arms for a hug. Of course, if they were going to wake up, they probably would have done so when Vita slammed her hammer into the ground right outside the mansion.
"Shall we?" You grin and bounce forward, and after a moment the embrace vanishes as the two of you dissolve into a swarm of bats, and you let your sister whisk you away through the mansion. You also take a moment to sever your link with your clones - after all, part of the reason for doing this is to give them more time to work, so using them against Remilia would defeat some of the purpose. Besides, this is to see how you can do. If you can come close by yourself, that's good enough! All too soon your body is reforming as the bats reach the library. Sakuya appears in front of you, looking almost worried.
"Milady? Is something wrong?" But Remilia just waves her off.
"No, no, everything's fine. Flandre and I are just going to show off a bit." Sakuya bows, relieved, and steps back before vanishing. Remilia turns to you, two goblets in hand. "A toast, my sister." You touch your goblet to hers, meet her eyes, and smile.
"Let's have fun!" She grins back and nods her head, then you both take a step back and start to drink. You close your eyes as the rich liquid flows down your throat, and part of you wonders what creature this blood came from. It is so very delicious … but the cup only holds so much, and when it's gone you slowly lower it, matching Remilia's moves - although you can't help but notice the trails of blood from the corners of her mouth. Even drinking a toast, she's so messy - but that's part of what makes her your wonderful sister, isn't it? You toss the goblet behind you as you rush forward, and Remilia mirrors your movement, except she doesn't take her spear out to block Laevateinn swinging against her left side. Instead, bounces up and catches the strike with her foot, using it to launch herself off the bookshelf and into the air above. Magic circles form around her as you leap into flight as well.
The rich, fresh, hot blood pours energy into you, and you hurtle toward your sister, abruptly switching from a swing to a thrust at the last moment - but Remilia is faster, flipping over the original arc and your new thrust and slapping down at you. Your wings catch her enhanced claw, pierce its wrist and palm, but you're unable to blunt her attack entirely, and even catching it on your shoulder sends you spiraling down to the shelves below. You arrest your fall and spin back, igniting Laevateinn as you wrench it back around, and a broad mass slams into you before erupting into a flurry of clawing strikes. Your wings and free hand dart back, and you kick out, knocking Remilia back. As blasts from the magic circles begin falling around you, you throw yourself up and spray danmaku toward your sister. You unleash Laevateinn's flames once again as you come level to the magic circles, then whirl and slam your precious gift down.
Remilia catches it on her wing-sheathed forearms, then flings arms and wings wide to break your positioning and kicks up, catching you with a blast of power that you knocks you higher. You propel yourself even farther, danmaku flying wildly down to reduce Remilia's available paths, and fling yourself down when she takes that path. She catches your stomping foot on her wing, and you whirl around each other for almost a second before mutually disengaging. You grin as you look up at your sister, and as she gathers power into her hand you dash down into the shelves, zigzagging through the aisles - and the gleaming spear of energy punches through the shelves behind you. Three more spears lance through the shelves and you stick your tongue out in the general direction of your sister; of course she would stay in the mid- and long-range brackets, where she has the advantage. Well, it's not like you expected any different. You transform and turn invisible, then launch yourself above the shelves. Now that she can't sense you, Remilia isn't attacking anymore, and you loop around for a shallow dive toward her. You won't have much time, of course ….
You change back into your normal form as she bursts into motion, and you manage to catch her leg with Laevateinn's flames. Flying backward, she manages to deflect your next two strikes, and after descending into the shelves she starts outpacing you, so you let Laevateinn's flames sweep through the shelves before flying up over them. On second thought, Remilia was right about one thing about fighting down here - you're much less likely to start a forest fire this way. Remilia shoots out of the smoke and launches a pack of large danmaku orbs at you; you slip through them and send out a hail of smaller shot toward her, as much screening your advance from her ranged attacks as actually trying to harm her with them. Instead of dodging your strike, her right arm ripples with power and whips forward to intercept Laevateinn, and you somersault over her, flinging danmaku as you turn and lashing out with Laevateinn's flames. Remilia darts away, however, and if she's shaking her hand in pain that doesn't stop her from setting up barriers against your danmaku. Then lances of red energy shoot up from the ground, forcing you to back away from your sister, and you watch her grin as she summons up another Heartbreak spear - then you bat it aside with Laevateinn before hurtling forward. If she's surprised at all, she recovers quickly, catching Laevateinn above her head with both hands. Your wings dart forward, only to be blocked by her wings, and you kick up and reach forward with your free hand. You catch the tip of her wing and yank it back, rolling with her and flaring your aura against hers before hurling her down into the shelves. She rolls to her feet even as she keeps sliding away from your follow-up charge, so you unleash its flames once more as you chase after her.
She charges through the flames, accepting a pair of strikes from your wings as well as she hurtles past you, the air breaking apart as she runs away, and you turn to give chase - and barely keep yourself from being knocked away as she reverses direction and slams into you. You start to grapple, but her body breaks apart into bats to retreat, and you scowl before turning invisible. When her swarm reconvenes, you hurtle toward it, smashing through her barriers with Laevateinn, ignoring the half-dozen miniature spears that launch toward you. She deflects your attack, but you still slam into her, carry her down to the shelves in your range - and when she breaks apart this time, you flare your aura to burn away some of her bats before turning invisible again to wait for her to reappear. When she does, you shower her with danmaku from long-range circling quickly to keep her guessing - but when you do start your charge, you're immediately arrested by glowing red chains that cross your chest and loop over your shoulders before meeting at your stomach. Remilia smiles and curtsies, then begins drawing in power to create her great throwing spear. You wonder for a moment if you should bother trying to escape, but she wouldn't use that unless she was sure she'd have a chance to use it. As she changes her hold from a forward to an overhead grip and prepares to throw, you hold Laevateinn in front of you and brace it first with your free arm and then with your wings. Of course, positioning is important, too, because Remilia never actually aims for the heart with this spear ….
You don't actually see the spear hurtle toward you, but when it bursts the chains and sends you crashing into the shelves, you're only very badly charred, with one wing snapped in half and your arms feeling rather pained. If you hadn't managed to block it, you'd be missing an arm at least, and probably be unconscious. And when you hurtle out of the wrack of the shelves you smashed through, Remilia looks completely surprised. At least, she does for the moment it takes you to get halfway to her. After that, she grins and that's a big bullet -!
"Flandre, it's time to wake up." Your eyes blink open to meet your sister's, and after a moment you stick your tongue out at her.
"I almost had you." She laughs happily and shakes her head, then leans down to kiss your forehead. You flap your arms once, to make sure they're healed, then wrap them around your sister, and you giggle when she grunts at the pressure. Then her arms wrap around your head, and she holds you close for a moment.
Then your clones arrive.
"Well, let's find a reasonably intact piece of wood to use as a table and see what your little darlings have brought us," Remilia says after you scowl menacingly at your platter-bearing duplicates, and after a short bit of searching you have a small wreck of a table and two shoddy stools to sit on, all propped up on books, and your clones gingerly set their trays on the table. Candied lozenges, flavored gelatin, tea, dumplings, and little cookies and pastries - all of them with liberal applications of blood - greet you, and you look at your clones suspiciously. Some of these should have taken longer than this to make …. "Ooh, delicious! Flandre, try it!" She motions at the cookie in her mouth, and lean over to bite into the half that she's leaving you. You chew it and nod appreciatively.
"It is good." Remilia gulps the rest of her half down and giggles.
"We should do this more often, I think." Now you laugh.
"Wouldn't Patchouli get upset about us breaking her shelves all the time?" Remilia blinks and looks around, as if only just now realizing where you are, and stares at you for a moment before shrugging.
"I'm sure it's time to reorganize the books, anyway. And since she has more helpers, now, it'll be easier!" You look at each other, then break into mutual giggles at the idea that Patchouli won't be irritated by the havoc you just caused. True, the library is Remilia'a, but the books are the magician's - for the most part, anyway. Still, you two just eat and giggle. After a while, though, when the snacks are all gone, she does look around and sigh. "I suppose I should do something to help out …."
What do you do?
[ ] Let her help Patchouli.
- [ ] Then take her to your room and go to sleep.
- [ ] Then go with her to her room and go to sleep.
- [ ] Other?
[ ] Sure, she can help Patchouli … later.
- [ ] Take her to your room and go to sleep.
