such as a Hag, demanding answers in exchange for it's continued life
Nah, too mundane. She should be teasing about how much the soul of a magic user would be worth to the right buyer.

You can do it, Mina, be scary.
Mina: "Grrr, I'm a Hag, fear me!" 🥸
All went too well.
[X] Offer to take him to Cauldron if he tells you everything he knows
Crits occasionally happen and squishy mages are the very worst people to tank them, on the other hand the way you won that fight is why your... undiplomatic party now has to handle social interactions with someone who might not have anything to lose.
Mina doesn't have the spell prepared, so she would need to sleep before she can change her spell selection.Hmmmm. It is going to be difficult indeed. This guy might just think himself dead if he goes back to the Xul, and dead if the Mongrelmen get to him
@Goldfish we can read his thoughts, and mina can use Ill Omen so that he is less likely to resist. Maybe we can put this into the plan?
Kori can cast Detect thoughts as well. It is not in character sheet, but he certainly can.@Goldfish we can read his thoughts, and mina can use Ill Omen so that he is less likely to resist. Maybe we can put this into the plan?

Good point about using Detect Thoughts. Should we try to incorporate it into the Intimidation plan, or attempt it first before deciding if we'll try for Intimidation?
@DragonParadox, can you add Kori's headband to his character sheet?

I'm not sure if we can pull this off, not in a reasonable timeframe (it's kind of on the edge of being a longcon rather than a simple bluff), but I think it could work if we get some good rolls and the Xukgath is either disoriented or just not very clever.Gentlemen, I had an epiphany while on the shower. We should play this to our advantage. The prisoner hasn't seen neither Mina nor Kori, and we are very good at bluffing. We can actually bluff him into thinking that we rescued him.
I'm going to try to craft a lie (like we all should be doing always with Kori, except that we are not really good at it most of the time). Please help me flesh it out.
[] Plan Unexpected Saviours
-[] Have Cob willingly fall under the effects of Mina's Sleep Hex, then tie him down, and put some dirt (and coal if available) on him as if he had been dragged along the road. He will be kept nearby as proof.
-[] Gorok will be absent from this conversation
-[] Mina will use her Disguise Self SLA to appear as a Hag
-[] Before the Xulgath wakes up, Kori will cast Detect thoughts so that he doens't have the ability to resist, due to being unconcious.
-[] Kori will intriduce himself and Mina as traders who happened to put the Goblin to sleep as he was seemengly preparing to cook the Xulgath.
--[] Ask for who he is, where is he from, with a clear intent on attempting to exchange him for a reward from the Xulgath. If he doesn't seem particularly willing to tell us anything about what to expect from the settlement, or who we could talk to, muse loudly about how the Mongrelmen from couldron might value the information he has about the ongoain conflict, or maybe the Court of Ether will value the soul of a magic user like him to sacrifice for their foul arts.
---[] If everything fails, attempt intimidation instead.
Thoughts?

It plays to our party's strengths, too.

One thing I would change is that Cob doesn't need to actually be affected by the Sleep Hex, he can just take being asleep, after all, and the Hex's duration is very short. Also, he shouldn't be tied up, in case something happens and he needs to be able to act. That can be faked easily enough. To be fair, we will be able to pry a lot of information out of him via Detect Thoughts and asking questions. If he doesn't want to tell something, he will think about it, and this way we can at least direct the flow of the conversation. But, anyway, I think that we do have time. There is no actual pressing matter right now.

As far as I remember, you can choose to fail a save.
