I hope that we can take on the tribe a few moldmen at a time. I don't consider them a threat if they are few in numbers... but we can maybe face 30 of them here or something.
Like, we can take them when they send a hunting party or something like that.
Just making an addition to the default option we're all voting for.
Pass Without Trace doesn't do anything for being spotted or heard, but Cob can handle that well enough on his own. It will, however, hide his scent and keep him from leaving any tracks for an hour.

Gorok's Earth-Breaker also does bludgeoning damage, and our daggers do slashing damage, so we're pretty well covered on bypassing their DR. Too bad Gorok's ogre hook and our new rapiers deal piercing damage, but that's just how it goes some times.

A spark of good fortune is all you can offer the goblin, though that is not the only blessing he gets.
"Bough and bone, root and stone, let none betray you," Mina utters over Cob's head in quiet benediction, though there is no sign of the magic, at least none that can be seen with the eyes of flesh. Looking deeper you can see a ethereal spiderweb woven of a thousand shifting colors, binding the air and sweeping the stone.
"I thought your magic was gone?" you ask surprised, though not near as much as when she recoils back as though you had slapped her. "I apologize," you add hastily, the words hanging strangely from your tongue. Not from lack of use, you had used them all too often growing up to ward off the all too swift offense of your fellows, but because you mean them differently now.
"That's alright. It's not your fault, it's mine. I have to... " she swallows whatever she had been about to say and perhaps more than that. "I still have a bit of magic. Pepper said it was in the blood, though what blood he never had a chance to say."
With a start you realize that all the while Gorok had been looking between you, near unblinkingly as though attempting to solve some riddle that eludes him.
Clearing your throat loudly you turn to meet his gaze... which does nothing, shocking you more than Mina's sudden upset. Of course he would not react like one of the People caught spying, Akorian. Why would he? You remind yourself firmly, turning instead to look at the hole down which Cob had gone at once and without looking back.
Heart racing from the nearness of foes and head filled with all the things you might have said to either of your present companions, you cannot say how long it is until the goblin returns. He is slate grey as much from the rock dust as from the shifting color of his flesh, but with a cheerful sharp-toothed smile.
"There's four guards armed with swingy pointed axes..."
"Picks," Gorok rumbles.
Cob nods amenably. "But the tunnel up from there's been closed with lots of rocks. Only way up now is a big bucket that goes right up carrying four of the greenies, or guess it could carry about two of you bigs."
"So we have to take the other path anyway," you say with all the relish of one who has to live off burning sludgestone for a week.
"No, no," the goblin shakes his head so violently his ear almost catches in a sharp point on the wall. "Cob saw how they signal to be pulled up, three tugs. Oh, and Cob cut the snare at the end of the cleft," he adds with what can only be practiced nonchalance. "We can rush in, kill guards, then have them lift us to top."
"Only it will take two lifts, which means half of us have to hold off whatever in the upper room," Mina says worried. "If there's enough of them to work a lift... well that has to be a lot doesn't it?"
"We make noise killing the four down below, more moldfolk come to see what it is, maybe food, maybe danger, we kill them as they come," Gorok proposes. "They are not... cunning. Would not use plan on cunning foe."
That seems like the best plan you are going to get unless...
[] Write in proposal to alter Gorok's plan or come up with a new one
OOC: Since Akorian is not the leader, certainly not in matters of combat, this felt like a natural way to break for a vote, though if the open write in is too clunky for you guys do not hesitate to say so.
I think that we should follow the ring now. Just to scout. Then we go with Gorok's plan. Kill those 4, then other 4 that come through the lift. Then we go all the other way and ambush through the other entrance.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward Gorok's plan, too. Our resources being what they are, we only have so many good options.
@DragonParadox, can you give us a better idea of the terrain? How wide/tall is the tunnel leading to the area the Vegepygmies have taken, are there any narrow chokepoints, dead end tunnel branches, etc? How far away is the other potential entrance we haven't scouted out yet?

The tunnel is 4 feet high and about 4 feet across, there are no narrow checkpoints though there was a trap in there which Cob handled, it does branch out to the side that might join up with something in the direction the ring wants to go, but otherwise you do not know other entrances. The branch which Cob did explore goes for 800 feet in all before opening in the room with the guards.
1-We kill these guards, then position ourselves to ambush tjem from the other entrance.
2-Cob, which I assume will be the fastest to do this, will pull the signal from below, so that four vegepigmies go down.cob goes to the ambish group
3-We ambush them above. This will remove like 6 moldmen from the fight. Four in the lift and likely 2 more upstairs operating it to pull them to the upper level.
4-We kill the ones that remain below
Feel like Gorok's plan needs a lot of things to go right for the party to travel forward, so let us at least scout the other passage to see how it goes since it might be better to avoid vegepygmies.
[X] Ask that we let Cob scout the other path first before doing anything else since it could be the path is easier and can use it to better sneak up on Vegepymies
I'm torn between scouting out the other entrance and trying to pull something off from just this end now. Who knows what we'll find or what will happen over there, or how long we have before the Vegepygmies discover the trap Cob disabled?
Hmm, considering Cob's success thus far, and that Mina's spell should still have quite a bit of duration remaining, I'm going to go with scouting the other entrance, too.
We also have a couple options for distracting the Vegepygmies and drawing their attention to one entrance while we try to sneak in through the opposite one. Or just to draw them out in a more controlled manner than making some noise and bracing ourselves for their response.
Mina's Dancing Lights spell only last a minute, but it would be sure to get attention while it lasted. If we had her cast it somewhere that guards could see it, they would probably not just investigate on their own, but call for assistance from their fellows. Vegepygmies are super territorial like that.
We could also start a fire using some of our kindling or the chest we took from the Morlocks. Depending on where we do it, we could either go for attracting their attention with the fire itself or the smoke it produces.
It might even be that we could use a combination of the two. We need to get a better idea of the other entrance first, however, how it's guarded, how many Vegepygmies there are, etc.
Point is considering how controlled first entrance is gotta at least see how other one is, which seems like will get Cob's wish to take ring there for better or worse.
Who knows, maybe we'll get something extra out of it too.
