right so, I'm back and can talk again. even taking into account that it wont help the nightguard, I still think that arming the security force is necessary. we've just pissed off a cult, they will be retaliating against us eventually, and dealing with child predators will be an unfortunately necessary part of the job as well, and going by how the puppet performed last time that was an issue it is clearly not good enough.

to be honest I don't like the idea of the puppet at all, putting any kind of programing into our entertainer robots that would let them attack someone is a bad idea as far as I see it (and for anyone who would bring up that I was the one suggesting combat robots, those were meant to be kept strictly separate from the entertainment ones)

Speaking of security guards: At some points we could make use of our gathered expertise in security systems and training to spin off a private security company. Would be another source of income, an excuse to delve further into security developments, and also an opportunity to skim some information off the top if a corp or group of interest ends up hiring our guards.

It'd be lower valence than outright 'private army', but could be developed into that direction later on.

hmm, tempted to do scoobydoo quest omake... but it a lot of work... 4 character sheets and that if i combine shaggy and scooby as one. and then there the fact they have a mobile base rather than a stationary base and move from town to town, usually tackling a few case/mysterys in a area before moving on.

so, I'm just going over all the animatronics that we've had suggested to add into the restaurant since we've actually got an action for it now.

First off, Jackie from secret of the mimic, I don't think this is an option though since Martin locked off anything from that game until it comes out.

Roxy as a fourth band member, with the plan to split Foxy off into the leader of his own group the band needs a new fourth member, Roxy would be a good fit for this. since this is still early on she likely wouldn't have as fleshed out of a personality, but I feel like "cool older sister" is still a good archetype to fit her into.

Orville Elephant, this was a weird one, but as a stage magician we could essentially just set him up doing an act in one of the party rooms by himself like Foxy is now. we wouldn't even need to change him from his canon design or personality.

the plan to have Ned Bear be a villain that tries to impersonate Freddy could technically be done now but I feel like our animatronics might not be advanced enough for elaborate performances like that yet.

the plan for giving Foxy his crew would need to wait for us to expand the restaurant more since it would be a full second set of animatronics, but currently for his crew we have Monty (we would probably want his personality to lean more towards "lovable idiot" than mindless brute), a brand new beaver animatronic named Chippy, and a sister for Foxy (I don't think we ever expanded on that idea)

the idea to make Happy Frog (renamed Maddy Frog, just to make her fit in more) the leader of an incompetent rival band would need us to expand more since it would be the third full set of animatronics, to be honest we'd need to be nearing Pizzaplex size before I considered having all 3 sets at once. the only band member we've given her so far is Pigpatch (the only competent musician in the band exasperatedly trying to help the others improve)

there was also an idea to turn Mr. Hippo into a stand up comedian, but at the same time maybe his current gimmick of being a friendly grandpa supporting character is fine. I don't know why but I'd actually assumed the character was meant to be married to Mystic Hippo, which would be an interesting character detail. and with her magical theme and the fact Mr. Hippo is supposed to be friends with Orville I just realized we could put all of them in the same room and it would make perfect sense. that feels like I've accidentally made a fourth team.

are there any character ideas I'm missing? a few of these ideas also clearly need more work.

Holy crap that's a lot of animatronics to consider
yeah, but not all of these are things we can do right now. honestly, the only ones I'd consider before expanding are Roxy and Orville. maybe the Foxy crew members but that's pushing it.

edit: to elaborate a bit, Roxy and Orville I'm willing to consider because they would just be adding a single animatronic.

So what general things are we considering next turn? Thinking security systems, programming the animatronics, investigating either Candy or Doug 'N' Rachel's, meeting with city hall and letting Ash & UPS fuck around with either our haunted house or investigating the ghosts/Shadow Freddy's wouldn't be the worst but I'm open to different ideas

I think we should have Ash investigate the missing kids, he wont be around forever and we want to get William dealt with before FNAF 2 or he'll murder another set of kids in our restaurant.

I can work with that, no point in figuring out the competition in Candy's and Doug/Rachel's just for William to kill off some kiddos and suddenly we're closing again....may as well make use of an asset like Ash for as long as we can.

Oh and it's our moral obligation to save kids
..definitely was my priority and not the risk of slander...yup...

Oh maybe we should use UPS for Candy's and Doug/Rachel's. We really shouldn't just avoid investigating our biggest competitors right now

We'll want to use our safety guarantee over the next two turns to do risky actions, such as investigating the forest or looking into the kids.

Edit: The police seem to be doing ok-ish investigating the murderer, but I wouldn't be opposed in looking into him as well. Could be good pr with them if we help, and might give another data point on supernatural threats.

Looking into the cult the turn after might be wise too, since if that had another failure, we'd get another DC reduction. Currently, I assume the DC is 10 above where it was before, since we got a bonus of 10 from persistent idiot, and they succeeded in lowering their profile, which probably gave +20, but unlikely to be much more than that in the limited context of our experience with DC changes. Risky, but we can't leave them entirely alone.

so here's a thought. Circus Baby's restaurant is doomed even if Elizabeth doesn't die isn't it? all of those animatronics are designed to kill kids they are going to have so many missing persons incidents and we nearly got shut down after one. (well, five at once but it was only one incident)

wait, after re-reading all the posts. I think I might have mistaken but isn't there two spring doors the guard can use to block off the animatronics?

so do people what do the cult action again or do the missing children next turn? Because I feel like people gonna debate about them which I will find it annoying.

I've said it before, I want to do the missing children action.

I actually wouldn't care about the cult at all yet if we hadn't just pissed them off, they're not really relevant to us in any way.

I don't think the cult is gonna immediately gonna start fucking with us, but I would expect them taking their own investigation action towards us.
We could probably stop them from being creepy around us by doing that donation to the police since iirc that would get patrols around our restaurant. Though we also want to upgrade nightguard security didn't we?

The cult should wait at least one turn, so persistent idiot can trigger again. Even with Ash, I'd only give that action ~50/50 odds at most.
And they don't have much reason to act against us yet anyhow, at least not in an outright hostile or damaging manner.
Security upgrades seems more versatile than police donations rn.

I think baby circus pizzaria has a chance of surviving if William careful.

Especially if he rents out his animatronics still. He could always lure and snag children too and from parties or events.

But logically he had to design the location with the animatronicss and thier purposes of kidnapping children in mind.

That or he designed the place to be closed soon after and easily converted.

And while I do agree in investigating the cult. At this point it has such a huge influence in town that we should try to have a positive relationship in mind, even if it only in appearance.

Their members can make obtaining supplies much harder. We don't need to lose our new food supplier.

At least for the next turn maybe we should focus on improving security. That or any investigation into a cult be boosted as much as possible.

Actually, now that I think about it:
Does the risk reduction over the next two turns also cover 'Nights' aka Quests?
Because if it does, we'll definitely want to unlock the Night at the haunted woods next turn and send Karl there the turn after while long term harm is less likely. If it's like Doofquest, he can get some stat improvements from that.
