A lot if they had to take the offering box and replace it (and a gate) to replace with solid gold. And even then I think the fox was more focused on making sure her babies were safe. The money was probably left so the shrine could be maintained.

I swear that she doesn't need to make the Shrine out of gold in order to get donations. Does she seriously not know how expensive it is to build something like that? Would be interesting if you decide to do a more realistic design instead.

The only way I can see that ever happening is if Inaba has massive amounts of gold around it and it is the best kept secret in Japan.

Or it could be just, you know, plated gold.

Also jesus christ, I'm still on chapter 19 and the story is in Chapter 32, at what point of the plot is the story at?

Just finished Shadow Rise, though the plot's a bit out of whack because Shadow Kanji took a bye. The chapters after 21 (Shadow Yukiko) should make sense as to why.

It's not as fucked up as you think, but at the same time, Shirou being a magus and Chie being Shirou's friend more than Yosuke are definitely the butterfly flaps gaining strength.

Ok, I finished reading the latest chapter.

Honestly, I first saw this a few years ago, and the first few chapters were lackluster so I skipped it, but now since it is on Chapter 34, I find it enjoyable, especially since I am having a Persona 4 kick after finding my copy of P3P.

Unfortunately, going by current trends, the next chapter will come in 3 months.

I think we should stop with these jokes. I have known authors who stopped writing because several people complained about how long it was taking to release another chapter.

Especially for chapters that can have over 10k word count because of the density of content. That can take a long time to do, especially if it is more professional quality.

Thank you Sly.

I apologize if you guys feel upset I take so damn long to write, but tough. This is MY story, done non-profit and for fun. Sometimes I have moods that I want to keep writing, other times not. I'm glad I'm not a mangaka because they're forced to write within a WEEK DAILY to get their chapters up, and the process is draining for only the most talented and skilled writers... and even then guys like Kishimoto may steadily decline while guys like Kubo crash and burn. I'm not either one of them in terms of skill or dedication, as I write for fun. If I had to push myself just because a few fans are getting impatient and want more updates or else they'll STOP reading, then fine. Go ahead; no one's stopping you.

Of course, if you think writing is so easy, no one's stopping you from writing a story or fanfic yourself either.

@KishouTheBadger Every chapter you post is a fucking delight and an amazing read. I go "eeeeee" every time I see an update. It is a privilege to read your story and I want you to understand that I absolutely appreciate you writing this story.

Thanks for the story so far, and looking forward to more.

I'm just happy that the amount of time in between updates means that the update itself is big.

Thank you Sly.

I don't usually say much, but as I enjoy this story, I'll chime in. Writing can be a huge pain in the ass. For first hand experience, I can tell you,, even though 10k words isn't really all *that* much from a readers perspective, it takes a hell a long time to put out. Even getting it done in a single day, it takes hours and hours, and most of the time you have to sacrifice quality for that kind of pace. Which means more time wasted on editing and revision. That kind of thing is also draining as hell.

Seriously, I once did 10-12k Words a day for three days straight. It drained me so much I've barely written a word for that fic in years. Much better to write when the motivation, enthusiasm and energy hits you. Tends to lead to more quality and longer, more sustainable bursts of writing. Granted, creating a habit of writing at least 1k or so words a day is also good. It keeps you sharp and is a good way to keep motivation up even if it is a bit of a slog some days. And it's nice to look back at yesterday and know you got something done

With that out of the way, I'll say this. @KishouTheBadger, this fic is pretty damn good. Near amazing, even. Shirou actually seems in character for once, and the blending of the two universes is done quite well. It manages to keep the feel of Type-Moon with it's moments of epicness and sometimes clinically depressing nature, while maintaining the relatively more lighthearted aspects of Persona 4. Both settings are kind of a crapsack world, but they blend together nicely enough that there's a general feeling of hope and brevity.

That said, I'm a bit ambivalent on the pacing itself. We're 32 updates in and I doubt we've even hit the half way mark for the Persona side of things. Forgive me a bit if this had been brought up and answered before, but do you actually plan to go into the 4th Holy Grail War in this fic, or do it as a possible sequel/part 2? You are obviously covering a lot of your bases and going over aspects from the game and trying to include as much as you can to stay true to the series, but sometimes I feel it gets bogged down in some unnecessary scenes or detail. The focus is very much on the Persona/Shin Megami Tensei side of things for the most part.

Granted, it's been awhile since I read through the whole fic at once, so maybe the pacing won't seem as apparent to me as it does on a chapter to chapter basis. It just seems that very little actually happens in each chapter to advance the plot and was very apparent in this last chapter.

I'm just happy this hasn't been dropped after 2 years of continual updates, most fics don't even make it half this long. While having to wait a few months between updates is mildly annoying I think the length and quality of the new chapters that do come make up for it, I'm just crossing my fingers that Kishou will continue this to completion.

Yeah, there's going to be a Holy Grail War eventually. Though I guess I may have to write more if I ever plan to finish within the next decade. Persona 5 is going to localize over here soon after all.

I do apologize if the pacing seems weak, but between the dense world from both continuities and trying to REALLY show how Shadows can be hard and dangerous, I'm afraid its kind of necessary. At least as far as my writing process is concerned. Sometimes I wonder if I reveal TOO much too fast, as there's still so much. I at least like to press fast-forward when there aren't many important days happening.

Fair enough. I'd rather you write what you want, than waste energy and motivation. That said, I may suggest splitting the fic into two, when you get to the Holy Grail War, at least on FFN. Seeing a fic with 500k+ Words can be...daunting. Splitting that word count up into more manageable chunks is probably better.

Which means other than character development, Summer is going to be one big skip huh?

Oh definitely. I already have a pending title for the HGW arc:

Fate Reach Out: Realta Órga

You could always cut out the Social Links that Shirou isn't doing in Inaba and make those Gaiden Chapters since they effect the rest of the IT. Regardless, the Inaba arc is going to take a few years just by content alone since several things can't be skipped. Excluding the normal days where not much happens. You could also cut some training montages into a short summary and gloss over anything that is a cut-and-paste of the game (Like nearly the same dialogue or less important cut scenes).

I wish you good luck.

I wonder how Sakura would fare against her own Shadow.

I feel like either it wouldn't be a struggle for her at all, or it would be a reversal. She's locked up the bits of herself that want to fight, to keep from hurting herself. So her shadow tries to...befriend her? Or maybe it wants to fight her battles for her.
