This is the option with the most sense. Rider wouldn't trust us if we backstabbed Assassin's Master, and that would prevent him from fighting another Heroic Spirit, which would frustrate him. Better give direct help, that would open dialogue.

Ilya's strategy is basically:
-Berserker Saber SMASH!
-I'm a super strong magus.

Not much point in consulting the girl with deliberately stunted social skills. Thanks Einzberns. Obviously tactics and critical thinking are unnecessary in a war.

I actually can't watch the vid but I think I know the scene you speak of XD

[X] Throw Illya over your back and tell her to hang on, you're ending this fight, now.
-[X] Jump into the air and obliterate the enemy 'fortress' and all the enemies within.
 
Seems to me that allying with either Assassin or Rider both give us a chance to reclaim Avalon.
Allying with Assassin is fairly straitforward. Should we manage to kill Rider, Shirou can't really do much to hinder us from getting Avalon.
Of course for that, we do have to manage to kill Rider and get Assassin to not immediately kill Shirou.
By allying with Rider we just have to drive off Assassin but we're not in a position to force Shirou to give us Avalon. On the other hand, depending on how much he still clings to his 'Hero of Justice' ideals, convincing him to simply give us the sheath shouldn't be too difficult.

Okay, so I don't see a need to help Rider. Like these usual clashes, it's probably only the sword spam that's keeping Assassin from getting his face beat in by the Rider class. And trying to Excaliblast everything is going to get both Rider and Assassin pissed at us, and I'd like to avoid getting a Caladbolg or something to the face.

[X] Track down Assassin's Master. At this point he's fair game.

I wanna see if it's Kirei, Bazett, or someone else.

Oh man, can you imagine how angry Bazett would be? Doesn't summon Cu, then finds out that the brat she just tried to kill went ahead and summoned him? Ouch.

Well, if we assume canon masters, there are 3 possibilities. Kirei and Bazett obviously, though I'm not sure how inclined Bazett would be towards bow sniping rather than just punching people in the face. And then Sakura, because connection to Shirou and Archery Club yo.

So I expect fun times ahead.
