Y'know I'll admit it I've always been a bit creepy, part of it was cultivated to stop people messing with me part of it was accidental. But this past day, waiting to watch kids go to school, checking a young ladies flight times. I shudder, it just really takes the creepy cake, doesn't it.

Right then, Ring scan area surrounding Rin who else is there nearby her.

I watch as Rin and Luvia who were rounding the corner fighting, both stand upright.

Oh, so they noticed that then? I wonder how? I suppose magic can be used to detect conventional monitoring equipment.

Wait a minute ring did you scan their fears?

Ah, that explains it, sentient magical objects probably feel it when someone looks into their emotional spectrum presence.

Its probably a bit louder than I'd like but I'll make do, I mean ring how long did the scans take?

What's that? Half a second? Certainly not enough time to track me. I look over to were Rin and Luvia are watching their surroundings with suspicion, I stand up fold the paper under my arm look straight at them and wink with a pleasant smile. Their eyes lock on me for a moment as I turn away and walk into the crowd, right there's a corner I round it getting out of sight then head into the bathroom and FTL out the window.

Perfect, now they'll think I'm some variation of observer and probably not kill me.

I feel an oppressive glare into my back as I arrive outside, I turn around to see an older man in a suit and glasses glaring at me. Well, I can't tell if he is actually glaring at me but I can feel his eyes on me, I just appeared outta nowhere and he's just standing there menacingly.

"Can I help you?"

He turns away and walks off.

I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding, what the hell was he. Ring scan him, cause something is definitely off about him.

"Command confirmed."

Huh, baseline human with some guns and knives, how the fuck did he have that kind of a presence? I guess being armed to the teeth means that he can afford to be confident? Although that gives me an idea. Ring what metals what to we have in subspace?

"Iron, copper, silver, gold, nickel, lead, zinc cobalt, tin, tungsten, palladiu-"

Stop, stop a lot ok, what the hell was in those asteroids.

Stop, don't I don't need all that information. I have the ring search for the dimensions of a stiletto because even if it's going to be useless I want some kind of backup weapon.

Right, I've seen the shape a knife should take how sharp it should be at it's the finest edge, I can do better than that. I have the ring build a construct of the blade, I consciously know that this knife probably going to be next to useless in a fight but learning how to create weapons from scratch with the ring will be helpful.

Ring do we have anything that we can make plastic or cloth with?

"Negative."

Ok, subspace I look around and my eyes fall on the wheels for the trolleys inside.

Hmm… sub-space enough of that to make the handle without crippling any of them.

Ring takes the knife out of subspace and look at it. The perfect knife, wasted and useless on me. Ring make a scabbard for it out of metal and hide it inside of my suit pocket.

Ring dimensions of a naval cutlass please, only create the internal of the handle. We can fix the rest later, so plastic, cloth and plastic are needed for weapons.

I make a mental note to try it with guns later.

Ring FTL back to… that restaurant looked nice didn't it, I generate a construct of a restaurant.

Wait, there's more than one magical discharge?

I thought you couldn't detect magic?

"Ring cannot detect magic directly, however, two areas are not operating within logical norms."

So two locations are doing strange things.

Right does it seem like they've noticed us?

Right keep scanning, measure the forces coming out of that fight and estimate their combat capabilities.

That's ok estimations are not meant to be accurate, compare it to the combat capabilities of the ring.

"Command confirmed, alert rings combat capabilities vary depending on ambient fear."

Track them, but FTL us to the location of the fight.

"Command confirmed."

The scenery changes just in time for me to see Rin and Luvia plummet to the ground below.

Ring, catch them and bring them up to me, please.

"Command confirmed."

"Sapphire this is- huh?"

"Get back her- what?"

"Really? A strange man saves your life and that's all you have to say?"

They both eye me cautiously.

I let out a sigh.

"Relax down if I wanted to hurt you I'd have let you fall."

"Who-" "You're the person-" "-are you?" "-from the airport?!"

"Calm down one at a time please."

They both look at each other seeming to stare each other down.

I let out a sigh, right I'll sort it out then.

"Right-" I point at Rin "you, Rin isn't it?-" she nods "you go first"

"Wait-" "Why were-" "-why do-" "-you watc-" "-es she-" "-hing us?" "-get to go first!"

I cock my head and point at the blond one.

"Luvia?-" she nods "-don't make me muzzle you" Rin smiles as Luvia begins to start to say something in indignation, but then thinks better of it and controls herself.

"There's a good girl, Rin don't be smug-" Rins smile fades and Luvia picks it up "-I'm only letting you go first because you have a home field advantage."

These two are going to be difficult, aren't they? I thought they only fought like this because of harem shenanigans over Shirou.

"Why were you watching us?" Rin asks after a pause a serious expression on her face.

"I wasn't…-" I shrug noncommittally "exactly, I was using somewhat more invasive-" they both shudder, oh do they think I'm talking about something lewd. "-means on your magic… entities? The things that just left you to fall to your deaths?"

They freeze look to each other then back to me before deciding to be unhelpful. Huh so they can work together, that's interesting. Well they look like they're sceptical, well I did just save their lives they should have a bit more gratitude. I let out a sigh, ring let them down safely. They won't be any help to me right now, but if I let them leave that should garner me some trust.

I land near a corner.

"Try not to be too obvious next time."

I walk around the corner out of sight.

Ring FTL us out of here.

Oh? That is interesting. The scenery flickers back to orbit, ring FTL us to somewhere we can see what going on at the Emiya residence without being detected.

"Command confirmed. Location within detected parameters found."

The scenery flickers again and I'm standing about a hundred or so meters above what is apparently the Emiya residence.

That certainly doesn't look like the Emiya house i remember, just what the hell is going on here? I mean who has pink walls? Really?

I fly down and land in a tree nearby the house, ring where exactly was this magical effect?

"Potential magical effect is in the bathroom of the house."

I'm gonna wait out here, alert me if it exits the bathroom.

A shame, I would have hoped he would find Miyu first, but it is logical that the ring would keep an eye on the Emiya home instead of a random kid in the middle of a random location of Fuyuki. Well, at least I can hope that the magical mentors are inverted and Rin ends with the competent girl while Luvia tries her heavy hand approach on Illya and starts a cold war between the servants (instead of Servants) of the respective households.

Remember, Illya doesn't have many of the issues that Miyu has in using the Kaleidoscope.

Also, I don't think Luvia would be that slow to make the connection between Illya's family name, and the Von Einzberns, especially given the resources at her disposal. Odds are, she'd try to conduct a background check on Illya... and get a certain visit from Mama Iri.

Umm... so I'm kinda new to this website and I'm wondering how often it's ok for fanfic writers to update, cause my uni course is starting up soon and I probably won't keep doing daily updates.

I think every two to five days or weekly, any advice would be appreciated.






I sit looking over my handiwork in the knife when a giant beam of light shoots up from inside the house.

...

I put the knife away.

Ring what the hell is that?

Yeah, I figured that out, but what is it?

How so? Oh.

A brilliant light blinds me from just next to the house's wall.

The light dims to acceptable levels but I still can't see anything, wait is that a little girl dancing? Alternate realities what's happening?

She points at ruby going upright.

Rin attempts to take it but the stick appears stuck in Illya's hand.

Rin grabs it in both hands and starts pulling Illya upright.

"Would you mind letting go?"

There's a chuckle from the stick.

"It's no use! Your credentials as my master have already been overridden. Whether you like it or not, changing masters without my consent is impossi-."

Oh? I've gained lots of interesting information from this.

There's a scream as Rin slams the stick into the wall, creating a small crater in the side of it.

Oh my, that's quite some physical strength.

Rin chuckles

"Very nice ruby. In that case, I'll pamper you until you decide to change masters again."

Rin does not look like she's in a pampering mood.

"Enthusiastic as always, aren't you? Miss being a magical girl that much."

I feel like that was a bad idea.

"Like hell, I would! I'd kill myself if anyone saw me in that outfit!!"

"Very well, Illya point me towards Rin while saying 'Damn you' in your head."

"Umm.."

"Damn you…"

"Alert potential magical attack detected."

A beam of light goes out and zaps Rin causing her to scream.

"Whoa, it shot something!"

"Illya's answer is as follows "I'm not giving this stick to anybody. 'Go back to where you came from twin-tailed hag.'"

"I didn't say that!"

Rin raises her hand and a black orb appears.

"Alert potential magical attack detected."

There's no real 'requirement' to update any amount of times. Updating when you can, and letting us know if life is getting you down and keeping you from updating every once in a while is okay. Anytime you can update is fine, but we all realize RL comes first. Even if we'd really like some more chapters to read and, more often than not, forget our manners in the process.

Either way, the story is looking good so far, and I say that as someone who's never watched Prisma aside from a few random clips.

Couple pieces of advice, though? 1. Get a beta reader/editor to help you out(they may catch things you miss. You haven't made any yet that I can see, but every little bit helps make the story quality better).

2. Ask a mod or find someone in a position of power in the site hierarchy if a scene might be squicky/cross a line/bend or break a site rule. I'm uncertain if you haven't watched the series (and thus wanting to avoid spoilers) or not, but there are some scenes in later seasons that cross a few lines(if you have watched the series, you know of the things I speak. If not..., I highly advise you watch the series and follow both previous pieces of advice; trust me, you'll thank me later). While you might try to 'fade to black' a scene or two, or have it happen 'off screen' if it is plot relevant, having a second opinion about whether or not something is out of bounds is a good idea.

Other than that? Good luck, you'll need it for the muse and your life.

Come on Rin, I thought you were smarter than that.

A black and red beam shoots out of Rin's orb, then another and another and another and oh my that's a lot of shots. Pretty sure that's far more than she used against Shirou in stay night.

Illya screams and takes cover behind nothing as the dust envelops her.

Smart girl, there's no way Rin can just remember where you were and keep shooting.

Rin stops shooting and starts panting.

Oh, I guess she was pushing herself then.

The dust clears a little and Illya is... perfectly fine.

"Huh? I'm unhurt."

So she has a shield, interesting. I wonder if it's strong?

"Information unavailable."

The stick lets out a chuckle.

Of course, it is.

"Have you forgotten already Rin? Kaleid ruby comes with a powerful A-ranked magical defence barrier, physical protection and more! In other words 'I'm now as powerful as a hero and you can't possibly beat me, twin-tailed hag! Is what Illya said."

I actually do know that having watched part of Prisma illya but I was just pointing out the logical fallacy in his assumption because there are many beings who live off the grid and don't have electronic identities that can be accessed by the ring for example all the vampires that exist in this world that are older than Electronics probably don't have an existence on the web like Zeltretch. And there are many other Mages who have similar things where they don't have contact with the mundane world at all and other beings. So if you search for them with the ring the ring would not find them if it was just using electronic databases to search
