Breaking the shotgun feels too easy for a vent, tbh. Doesn't cause nearly enough complications.

Breaking a piece of needed technology should be expensive stuff, not a thing you can trivially replace at any market.
I agree, honestly, I don't think I'll count this as a vent but I think it would be a great lead in to breaking something else. A needed piece of tech would be like, the engine you got, or your new plane. So do with that as you will, if you can figure something else out definitely tell me.

Would blasting a big hole in the wing of Hilda's new plane with lightning work? With a petulant blast of water to put out the fire. I'm leaning toward that or breaking her broom.

Alright, you know what, no, I take it back, Hilda destroying her personal guns makes a lot of sense and I will count that as her destroying needed technology.

Ima be honest, that sounds horrifically debilitating. Even with no actual mechanical penalties.
i took 'Burnt Badger' quite literally, and I intended it to sound nasty and self-destructive.

She can break the hex on herself later, of course, but this is meant to be a fucked up moment of stress no?
If breaking her self-defense weapon is not enough.

- It does feel a bit off, because Hilda barely uses her guns? It's almost always magic, all the time.
It's not about how easily she can replace something, or how often she has used them, it is about the intent with which the technology was bought. She took both her pistol and her shotgun with violent, self-defensive intent.

They were a direct response to violence inflicted upon her by the gotha, and in a way eased her path to this stressed Hilda who gleefully -in the moment- burnt an entire plane of men alive.

Personally, I think it's too far. Would be terrible for someone with intrusive thoughts.

I like the idea of self-hexing, but I'm not sure what the middle ground would be. Maybe a one-time scalding, similar to using herself as a blood focus?

Two birds if she uses herself as a blood focus. If you could figure out something there won't like, debilitate her narratively and/or mechanically forever to encourage adding that to the plan.

-[] Use yourself as a focus (do blood magic for something)
--[] Hex someone who has it coming: Hilda hexes herself with blood magic, marking her shoulder and upper thigh with a runic count of her kills taken in anger, applying a hex that will prevent her from any further self harm. This is her moment of shame, it is not an eternal shackle.

Workable?
