[Exalted/SMT] Shard of a Broken Sun

...oh my. Amu... seems to have effectively spiritualized herself. Might be a side-effect of having Dream-Affirming Projection up and her 'dreaming' up a body for herself?

I wonder whether she actually can 'merge' into her body. Might be worth a shot, if only to avoid the others having to carry it all the way. Then again, crazy soul science.

Hmm, so the higher soul detached and then materialized. The PoV Amu then, is some kind of ghost, and we probably shouldn't wake up the other Amu until we can figure out how to merge again.

Better start rolling Occult to figure this out.

Nooooooo.

If Amu's higher and lower souls weren't still attached to each other, the Exaltation would register her as dead and be obligated to leave. She might however have some sort of projection causing her primary consciousness to manifest in a Chara-like construct.

Well, probably. Baugn changes a lot, and it's not like the Exaltation hasn't rationalized to itself about Amu before.

Remember that scene where Exaltation is rationalizing itself into remaining bonded earlier?

Yes, I very much remember that. More specifically, I remember that the Exaltation realized that she was in fact still human.
It is very confusing, and pushed you dangerously close to considering her nonhuman until you realised that, in fact, her entire soul is along for the ride.
And the thing is... ghosts are Not Human. Each word capitalized-level Not Human. Ghosts are no more Human as far as an Exaltation is concerned than a Dragon King, or a First Circle Demon, or a sandwich. Amu's full soul is in for the ride, which could very well mean that both her hun and po equivalents are outside her body, or that she's projecting a facsimile outside her body, or that she's colocated so that her full self is in two places at once, or any number of things. But not disjointed higher and lower souls.

Isn't there a Necromancy spell that does something similar to this....

I seem to remember one that projects your soul as a construct thingy.

Larceny does not apply in this situation, given the danger of being in a dust filled stairwell while the occassional aftershock of the world ending seems to be hitting. So surely one of the super powers available can be used to break down a door for resting inside.

Beyond that ... well Amu doesn't know she can stunt but she might be aware that she's capable of feats of incredible physical prowess like taking the stairs at leaps and bounds while carrying the rest
She's theoretically aware of that, yes. She hasn't really internalised it, and I imagine the idea sounds rather scary.

(As to whether she'd actually be capable of leaping the stairs in a single (or several) bounds... Exalted-the-game makes a hash of most notions of "movement", but I'm not going to. She's distinctly superhuman, yes, but she's still bound by her stats. You'd need a better excuse than "It can be stunted"; that gives a small bonus, not a 10x multiple.

Most of the reason why she can leap trees in a single bound is because she has above-average strength while weighing 25kg. That would not help if she's carrying others.)

That's very much not the conclusion I drew from that myself. Wasn't one of the lines about it turning off its human checking system? Or am I misremembering this?

She's Strength 2, Athletics 3, which puts her at:
Str+Athletics 5, Lift 450lbs, sample feat Lift a donkey; kick a wooden door to flinders
Or with a 2 dice stunt
Str+Athletics 7, Lift 650lbs, sample feat Bend an iron bar with both hands

I dare say Amu hadn't quite realized just how buff she is now.

Only thing I could think of would be something like:

[x] Drop transformation with Su, try to transform with your other body

But that didn't get any momentum last time.

On the other hand, she just got confirmation that there's nothing seriously wrong with her Physics body, so there's that.

Other than Amu taking more of the lifting load, pretty much nobody wants to mess with it :p
And she's already doing that organically. I feel sorry for Utau; she's the only one without any athletics enhancement. Singing on stage might be physically tough, but it's not quite at this level.

Evidently, that restriction is gone now that we're in the Vortex World.

That aside, I would probably try to get her to focus on more backend stuff in the short term, at least until the worst of the damage fades from the Conception itself. Essence 4 means that we can theoretically pick up Training Charms to instruct others based on Theory Alone. Just give her a military training manual (Or a Programming for Dummies guide), and we can have a full crack team of special forces operatives or super-technicians whipped out in a few weeks.

Also, while your defeat of Samael is not to be scoffed at, don't expect the same thing to happen twice. Last time Kagutsuchi did most of the job.
