[Exalted, ?] Most High

I'm aware, it's just irritating on a knee-jerk level. I would've voted/argued for the Yellow option on principle if I thought this was going to end up in a compromise.

The reason why I argued so hard for Red was because I really didn't want Blue, which was...wishy-washy compromise. Then, it ends up in a compromise anyway, even if the actual results of the compromise are good.

It was the principle of the thing.

Entirely fair.

Seriously, I was going into this update fearing that we would cross that "I don't care what happens to this person anymore" threshold, the fact we didn't is something I'm immensely thankful for.

In a way, it's a microcosm of Odyssial's philosophy as a whole: destroying the world (the viziers and corrupt deities, in this particular tortured metaphor) so a better one can be made. It doesn't say anything good about us if we just destroy and neglect the restoration.

God-King isn't neglect, it's accepting a large wind-up time in exchange for more explosive results! Of course, you do have to sacrifice some things along the way, but that's the price of godlike power!

-[X] Awaken Fairest Tie

Ooh, an interesting Tie to awaken. Care to explain your reasoning?

Oh God. I appear to have made the usually fatal mistake of underestimating Odyssial...'s Limit Break.

Seriously. I now see why he didn't want to remove it if it can actually work to the level of convincing him of its usefulness. It's so insidiously helpful that it terrifies me.

Odyssial didn't merely utilize the curse of the Titans. He perfected it, for better or worse.

Hmm. On the subject of Creation spanning prophecies, this could be a good time to consider undermining the Immaculate Faith. Probably a long shot, but it would be nice to have the Realm side with us against Anys when she gets back from Malfeas

From what I can tell, we get dick.

Because that's the nature of a shitty compromise.

It's shitty.
I wouldn't say we got dick, it seems quite clear that we got quite a boost to the harmonization of uly and ody.
our 3 choices were:
1. uly dominate (mechanical penalties)
2. ody dominates (mechanical benefits)
3. split between the two and potentially working at cross purpose & lose the crown of metis

The comrpomise was a well executed "uly and ody further harmonize. No mechanical benefits or penalties". I also really liked its tone and execution manner.

[X] Philosopher-King

Step 1: Immaculate heresy & usurpation of the realm by uly.
Step 2: Sorcery for time dilation bullshit and other top tier works that would have outed us as a solar.
Step 3: Profit

*Sunglasses* If you buy DWI, you would finally have enough XP for the Lore Training Charms! You could even buy a Martial Art to teach it to Moon / Nilul / Lily / Talomar to help them protect themselves!

"it" is not a separate entity from "him." But yes. *manaical laughter*

-[X] Awaken Fairest Tie
I'm pretty sure that's a bad idea - he didn't meet the Fairest until relatively late in his memories, right?
Warning: Doing so may inflict nigh-permanent soul damage if you awaken a Tie wholly derived from a period where Odyssial's thought processes were far more sophisticated. At worst, you may create an Odyssial Schism in a weaker version of Totality.

In some scenarios, that could be a benefit.

Hm, I'd be down with awakening his hatred of the Titans, if we go the Sorcery route... Seems like being able to no-sell Anys' arguments with that Intimacy could be quite useful, and disproportionate retribution is always amusing.

that is a pretty important warning there.

Actually, now that Nilul is here, do we finally deal with Maison and Void Scar and give them back their personal lives again?

Ehh... So basically, none of gains of Embracing, and none of the disadvantages of Resist/Snap Out. More of the latter actually, and this when the former had a dozen more votes than the other two combined. That really read like just lip service to Odyssial. "I agree that I am weak and inefficient, but still going to continue doing what I was doing." And now only one option out of all three is in line with Embrace, and it has diminished benefits. ...And Ulyssian coudn't even stay optimized until the end of his Limit Break.

And I am a little surprised myself, but I am already tired of Moon after one scene with her. Eh, for now let's just go with Red.

[X] Deal With It

Why not? If he does it as Satrap, he stands to benefit alongside the people of Luseng. If he goes full murderhobo and kill them, only the people of Luseng benefit.
Time. Gather an expedition and wait till the legion gets there is much longer.

And no, I don't think Anys would be able to spin our governance of Luseng against us, because unless we validate her assertions that we're uncontrollable, she has nothing to spin.
Ancient evil Solar overlord is building his own utterly loyal power base in Luseng, conspiring with Abyssals and doing whatever he wants. All she has to do is cast doubt on our motivations, which she can easily do by showcasing Odyssial's past history. That's all. And of course Zao won't be asking for clarification from Ulyssian himself, that'd be foolishly alerting the enemy on the off chance he does need to be put down.

Dat friendship interaction

Dat administration

Dat prophecy spam(time for them heretical prophecies)

DAT GOD KING'S SHRIKE

Sorry Sorcery, I just couldn't refuse. Like I said there is always another shiny. Plus once we've used our prophecy spam to make Ananthema acceptable, we will be able to actually use Solar Circle Sorcery without having to worry about the risks of outing ourself.

On the update this self, I'm very satisfied with what happened. Hell Ody's comment about his limit break could even possibly lead to us discovering the great curse.

Plus those interactions. Nilul as always was amazing.(Also was it just me or did she jokingly(?) challenge Moon to a contest to seduce Uly?)

If it doesn't get in the way of finally meeting lea then I don't have a problem with that.

I'm sorry. I've fought too long and too hard for Sorcery to turn aside now.
