[Exalted, ?] Most High

So it could have been a Talent of silver? That would make a passable bludgeon.

You'd need x5 the quantity of Silver Talents to equal a jade, I think. And the Realm does use jade anyway.

Hmm The Posting or Operative would give us time to go find Lea, locate our loyal dragonblooded legion descendants, find Fairest and(for posting) get a power base that won't try to kill us of our Anathema status is revealed.

That all pleases me. Especially that last one. There is a reason my Plan A for the realm is to have a loyal DB become its official ruler instead of ourselves.

Also it means we won't have to use any options to study for the naval exam.

Now you see why I warned you against this!

Satrapy allows that too, doesn't it?

Why should we care about telling Saery.

She'd be another liability, she's fine with not knowing, and it's one less thing to worry about.

It foolish to tell her unless you want to put a target on her back or another on our own.

....hmmm.

To some degree, yes. Though I think you guys are underestimating the rewards to be gained by staying in-House.

Being a good friend? Some people care about that kind of stuff, y'know.

I figured it out.

Ody redirected the cash to all the people around him and them later stole it back.

Amusing guess, but no, it's too big to hide that way. He's got a literal barrel's worth of pure obels.

Yeah, we get command of legions. House Sesus is in the fight for the strongest military power in all the Realm. With the right alliances, we could feasibly mount a fucking coup and make that shit stick. Do not underestimate the might of a Great House. Also? Sword of Creation. There are Past Life resources to be seized in the Threshold, yeah, but the biggest asset we could have is gained by staying in-Realm. Also, I just think it's a more interesting story.

Can we get a preliminary count of how the vote is shaping up? My only impression so far is that telling Saery is losing, sadly.

A worthy task? Sure. But she mistakenly believes that Odyssial was one of the greatest possible threats to Creation's well-being, and I see no reason to make the sacrifices necessary to redeem ourselves in the eyes in of a Usurper.

It's a matter of costs, certainly, but also of rewards.

Artifacts worth Resources 4 don't grow on trees.

Most Artifacts are worth more than Resources 4, if they're weapons or armor.

All you need to do is hit a high enough Essence and then march on the Sword... if everything goes as planned. Then hail Ulyssian I, Emperor of Creation, the Once and Present King.

What? It just requires us to be powerful enough to make her back off and us being smart enough to restrain ourselves from the typical short-sighted revenge obsessed no mercy SB/SV paranoid murderhobo tendency

Dude you do remember that not only
is she a Bronze Faction Sidereal who wants us dead because we're a Solar. She's also old enough to remember us which means the Lathe of Heaven put
a fear of Odyissial equivalent to the GC in her and if she doesn't cower before is she will try EVEN harder to kill then before because "OH SHIT ODYISSIAL IS BACK." We're probably a major reason the Sids went through with the Usurpation considering the ISH. Our death throes against the Usurpation endangered Creation so much the Incanare had to come down to save it.
They spent the last few Millennia brainwashing all of Pearl's reincarnations because she was Ody's friend. As a 5 day old exalt we slaughtered a group that can best an entire solar circle in seconds by ourselves without a scratch.

We're the reason she can go through with her breed super soldiers plan.

That's not mentioning how Ulyssian explicitly said "The Bronze Faction would pay in blood" for what they did to Pearl back in the Ashes to Ashes update. I can go get the quote if you want.

And that's not mentioning the crap she pulled in the last quest.

Yeah getting Anys and Ulyssian to work together is unlikely for story and meta reasons.

Huh. You want to pull an Ejava? Risky, but with potentially immeasurable rewards if we succeed. I suppose that's the hallmark of the option, though.

.

We're planning on blowing up the current version of Creation with something thats "the end of Creation's story" and replacing it with a new version so yes we technically ARE one of the greatest threats to Creation (Incarnate intervening remember?) especially if we screw up.

Odyssial was planning on doing that, though I would argue that the potential rewards far outweigh costs of a complete Infinite Singularity Husk. We are currently in the process of determining what Ulyssian's plans for the future are.

You could also go Operative and become powerful enough to sneak into the Imperial Manse! Or Satrap and try the same thing even if you're pronounced Anathema, utilizing Lunar empires and other rebellious satrapies to assist you! Or any number of possible means and ways towards that one win condition, if it is indeed a win...

For after all, what would something so trifling as the Sword of Creation do against the Handsome Monkey King, who challenged Odyssial himself in the finals of the Tournament For the Fair?

So, is the Handsome Monkey King from this quest? Or is he a canon Exalted Character, because I tried to look him up, but my google-fu was weak. I get that he's in some fashion an expy of The Great Sage Equal To Heaven, but I'm curious as to where he's from.

Hm. Well, I am hoping to eliminate at least one of the options (likely the weakest) by tonight. Hopefully two! I'm not sure, though. I'd like this choice to get some significant development, because it really is quite important for your future, even if your plans never come to fruition. It will shape how your training is structured, the missions and companions you're offered, and a whole lot else.

Use the jade as decorations/accessories for weaponry?

Sort of closer. You guys really are quite warm now.

Man, fuck pulling an Ejava. That's just a vanilla military coup, and the infighting caused by that would probably damn the Realm. She doesn't even know Sorcery, much less have the authority to wield the Sword!

The Sword that Ends the World said:
A fist-sized shard of silvered glass is tied to her forearm; she moves with impossible speed. Praesterr is nowhere to be found; the entire background is prismatic, blurry. As Flare's lock moves focus, the image in the mirror pans out to show Moon's surroundings. How did she get to the shard so quickly? Where was Praesterr? What was she running from - or to?

As the image continues to expand, one of those questions is answered. Far, far on the horizon, an irregularity darkens the pastel, multicolored sky. At first you think it some geographical feature, a mountain range or large plateau. But as you focus your senses upon it, you realize that it is not one solid thing, but a teeming sea of many. It is some host, some numberless army. As it advances, the sky turns black and crackles like shattered crystal. The very laws of air and earth distort like a heat haze in its passing. At its head glows a silver star.

Upon glimpsing that star, merely through the mirror, you are physically thrown back by the immensity of its power. You have not seen even the barest outline of its features, of its face, but you know. That is a being whose identity has been branded into the cosmic commons. That is a legend from out of time, grown immeasurably stronger in the millennia since. That is a man who has grown past the illimitable limits of mere Lunar Exaltation... That is the Handsome Monkey King.

Good thing Lea's sane. And still likes you!

Yeah if everything goes to plan.

Hence why I also said we need to regain the Sword so that we could if need be force the Realm to submit to us. However we need to go undiscovered long enough to gain the essence to regain the Sword.

Also it sucks knowing most of the benefits we get as a member of the Admiralty or ahead of the house would

Plus Admiralty forces Zao to use his influence and we might want to save that for later.

He dates back to TStEtW, actually. He's a Sun Wukong expy who has "grown past the illimitable limits of mere Lunar Exaltation."
