[Exalted, ?] Most High

"More realistic". Okay, that's someting. Sounds still quite risky though. None of the other options have a warning like that, so I think it's fairly save to say that Disguise remains a long shot. Not hopeless perhaps, but still.

If we were a Night Caste, I might consider it, but under the given circumstances...

It's strange the Disguise is called out as explicitly risky when it seems that making the anima look all fiery and then quickly leaving the public eye for a while would be a hell of a lot easier than escaping 100 murderous Dragonbloods. Really all the choices seem to be longshots that result in almost certain death, but disguise actually seems to be the most likely to realistically be pulled off, at least when compared to the near impossibility that is the other two choices.

Remember while Flame will want Ulyssian dead and there's Anys who will also want that (although there's fortunately a good chance she's not actually at the tournament) we still have Zao who if we take the disguise option will likely cover for us and we have the excellent excuse of needing to take Moon to the medical facilities to help Ulyssian get out of the public eye quickly.

Ultimately Ulyssian will be seen for maybe 30 seconds before he's gone and then disappeared preferably on a Zao and Academy supported excursion with Moon. By the time he gets back the heat should have died down although if we want to get more into the politics we'll need to have gathered more support such as getting Lea or our own Sidereal.

Edit: Essentially I want to take the Disguise option not for any possible future benefits (although there's quite a few) but because it seems like the option least likely to end in a quick and grisly death.

It's a very expensive option, but the benefits are potentially worth it. If you guys do well, this can lead to some extremely favorable outcomes, relative to the base Disguise choice success. Extremely favorable - one might even say, auspicious.

There's not always an ending. Sepulchral Pearl learned that, ten thousand years ago.

An incredibly potent long-term ally at incredible cost. Hmmmmmmmmm.

I mean how can you not want a Sidereal in your pocket (hopefully not literally), especially if you go with the disguise route. That's a bona fide mentor/future sifu that can also run all sorts of interference for you.

Super tempting and I'll need to think on that/be convinced, it looks pretty pricey.

Hmm... a tough call, but one I would say is worth it. It makes Disguise much more likely to succeed, and capitalizes on the choices made in Odyssial's past.

We've chosen the option that spends the most experience for the most favorable start, and I see no reason not to continue that trend.

IRRC Solars have some rather crazy movement skills, don't they? Jumping over mountains and such? Also, excellent stealth. If we chose Escape, supposedly Ulyssian would get charms of that sort. The Dragonblooded nearby hopefully just wouldn't be able to keep up and afterwards it would become nearly impossible to find him.

That being said, if we can get Ivory to side with Ulyssian/Odyssial that does change things. I might change my vote to Disguise over Kill then. The cost is steep though. Ultimately, I still favor Escape.

Okay, if you guys are willing to spend 150,000 more XP, then the connection between Odyssial and Pearl was so intimate and instinctive that, though it opposes everything she has been taught for her entire life, Ivory will go along with whatever fiction Ody / Uly claims. She's been on the fence about the Bronze Faction for a while now and she makes a snap decision to throw in with Zao.
I'm finding hard to judge whether you're genuinely trying to help because it looks like people are being suicidal once more and we really need all the advantages we can get or you're an evil monster that feels the need to dangle expensive shinies in front of us because people have started pumping out Omakes and Stunts again.

Since it's probably kind of relevant and I've been wondering for a while, how much XP do we currently have, how much XP would the additional Charms we have gotten with Essentially As Planned cost if we'd acquired them naturally and how much necessary training time are we actually looking at roughly to spend the rest of our XP, both if we payed for this and if we let it go?

I, for one, would really like to take the option. Disguise -option suddenly becomes a whole lot more feasible if you have a friendly Sid working for you right from the start (and also not opposing you).

EDIT: Also, working on a short omake right now, so I'm paying back on the choice I want to take.

There's also an amusing parallel between what would happen if we spent this experience and what happened when we publicly humiliated Beman in the duel, and Ivory exploited her Wood Caste resplendent destiny to control the outcome.

So even death cannot sunder the friendship/whatever-that-is between Ody/Uly and Pearl/Ivory? I like that. I like that very much.

Though the price is not cheap, I think it's worth it since it makes the Disguise option much more feasible. And it's a nice Screw You to Anys.

True. Personally? I think we should spend it.

A personal Sidereal is definitely worth its weight in XP.

Also, it means she can control some of the fallout. Feed her boss false info, etc.

Ivory on our side would sway me to go for Disguise. It would make things much easier if she was on our side. Plus I like that Ody and Pearl were so close that their bond lasted into their next lives.

If we can afford the xp cost after taking charms into consideration of course.

Ooh!

Do want!

It is very expensive, but Sad Ivory definitely proved her worth in the last quest when she dealt with the problems in that city that Ulyssian couldn't figure out what to do about. Plus, without Sad Ivory, Ays Syn's position will be weaker, which is a good thing for us if we're going to be staying in Seacrown.

Ah Priest, where are you? We need your divine guidance of art, to both delight our eyes and minds as well as to bring us closer to all the shinies!

Though I can't complain much, considering the amount of amazing artwork that guy has produced for Rihaku's quests.

I'm agreeing with everyone on Sad Ivory but also want it out there that we're going all in on a pair of twos. She changes the equation to favor us (at a heck of a cost, but then, she's a heck of an ally..), but we're still in the same spot we were before, with peers of the Realm watching the Exaltation.
