Evil Shall Triumph Somehow! - Evil Minion Quest [CK2-Style Quest]

And my reasoning is that we were a "literally who" before we went so off the grid that we've flipped the tables and put the grid on us, like some sort of lasergrade hat.

Okay, that is a fair point. It'll be hard if not impossible to do...

There are still a few leaps of logic that could still leave Tats to our Lackey's true identity:
-Lackey D wears a mask, under which lies his true face. (the fact that he wears it 24/0 is also suspicious) That and few other trails (like description of Lackey D's build and character) may lead to him.
(yes- he went through the transformation. Still- it didn't change him completely, and the fact that he changed is well known in RX Group)
-There were records of his transactions before the mission. That's a major clue.
-Latest mission was not a flawless job. That and the fact that Covenant was chasing them all the way means there are clues left.
(even if she would have to be there, seeing a part of this mission)
-Covenant is searching for him. Who knows, they may have clues and deductions of their own.
-Lisa didn't need to know if Lackey D was really the Chosen One. She might have suspected him as one of likely candidates.
From his reaction she could confirm (or theoretically deny) her theory.

Also, just for a second assume that this is the canon Worm Lisa, with her superpowers.
She'll see him for ten seconds and she'll figure that out.
(and apparently no one has any problem with Imp just being there...)

Got a general question too:
How did they throw the Covenant off his trail?
Did they do lots of villainous stuff to prove he's not the good guy?
Did they somehow imply that Chosen One is not even in the city, as he left it right now?

He's a supervillain. This isn't a clue, it's a descriptor for half of the city.

And he's undergone a super soldier transformation; his build gives away nothing, because he's too busy being captain Evil-merica. And she didn't see him for more than a few seconds, once; nothing to indicate similarities in character.

I mean, this assuming she could even get her hands on previous information regarding the missing member of the Covenant, when they haven't even released his name.

A clue to what? That there was a person going by his previous name who existed in the city. Cities which can contain hundreds of thousands of people. There's nothing that ties his original name to a random, anonymous lackey in RX group who doesn't look, sound, or act like him.

Clues to RX group being the ones who crashed their servers, perhaps. Not, however, clues to his identity. You know, because the files were known for being important for more than just that. Even assuming she drew the [Covenant looking for somebody -> RX group breaking their files -> somebody in RX group is being looked for], she has no idea who's on the RX group roster.

No, this is the Fanon Worm Lisa.

Good point. Still- he wears it all the time. If she gets the hold of that information, then she could still deduce something from it. (assuming of course that majority of other's don't do it either)

By build I mean stuff like he's male, with that color of skin, that height. Yes, transformation changed that a bit. But that's a well known fact in the organization itself.
"Oh, hey Lackey D. Did you get a new outfit from Miss Scientist?" Miss Black General, however, didn't seem to notice the changes in you besides the new suit.
Also he can still be recognized as his old self, even if only by few.
Speaking of character- she may have seen him before (maybe even before the transformation), or got opinions of others on him.
I mean, this assuming she could even get her hands on previous information regarding the missing member of the Covenant, when they haven't even released his name.
Could offer cooperation on the case. Or broke in their office. Or persuaded someone into parting with that info.

A clue linking his previous identity with the current one. If that was enough to be a clue for Covenant, it could be enough for Lisa.
Also speaking of the sheer amount of info- since the records are digital, a search engine could cut down on the amount of work required.
(also he didn't change his voice)

It wasn't just crashing the servers. It was also whatever he did to throw them off their trail, which she might have concluded to be without motive otherwise (why did they do things they did?).
No, this is the Fanon Worm Lisa.
By canon I mean with magic superpowers.
Like, seriously, my very first original thought was "Lisa isn't a fighter, but she always has the dirt on you. Lackey D has a big secret- let's scare him a bit! That's a Tattletale thing to do!"

But you did prove one thing- actually finding that out? Looots of work, and plenty of weak leads and temporary clues.
It'd be pretty hard to find him without detective magic.
Wonder how will Covenant even try?

Honestly, I'm expecting detective magic. Or maybe they'll call up the yandere ghost and promise to marry them if she turns him in.

Okay, I just re-read the last three pages, where did Lisa come up that wasn't an omake? And aside from fanboy pride, why is a Vs debate raging about her application to this scenario taking place? I'm lost.

Lisa comes from Worm, a pretty good web-novel about superheroes. Her thing is exposing your secrets to you, which she got with her Sherlock Powers.
It all boils down to "Lisa would have to use superpowers to find out about Lackey D's secret identity", which I denied by saying "even without superpowers she'd be able to find that out".
Then we argued about difficulty/possibility of actually doing that.
In the end, yeah- one would need superpowers or lots of manpower and luck to find Lackey D.

EDIT: In short, I wrote a reference/crossover Omake, got called out on an implausible thing, then the argument kinda started on its own.

Honestly, if Lisa came in, I'd argue it'd be too much, to fast, pace wise. If anything, she'd probably if a Covenent agent, be more busy dealing with their more... Important cases, in the mean time.

But longer term, if we're not lucky in diverting attention to other 'targets', and they can't find Lackey D. They'd probably send someone like her, who I'd probably peg would have a 30+ Range in Intrigue, and more than a few tricks to capture an AWOL Hero, or have a buddy agent like Regent? To do the drag to 'correction 101' for her.

Alternatively, a deal with his 'guardian angel' to make sure she binds him, they bring exorcist trap to drag a possessed D to a 'correctional' facility... Game over, the brainwashing perfect sacrificial soldier, unless The Boss goes on an epic quest somehow, for Lackey D. With uncertain results, which may be suicidal or to headache for the RX Group to bother last minute.

But seriously, as soon as we're able, better get the Syndicate chosen in actions, revenue wise. And ideally figure out a means to get an escape route in place ASAP, as those Covenent investigators aren't gonna be delayed forever...

:eyeroll:
Uh, yeah, that explained nothing. I'm aware of DarkGrimDerp( /edge/ ) Worm. I generally try to avoid it like the plague. (you know a story is bad with over half it's fanfics are fixits)
And yeah, I believe I touched the issue of the argument for/against identifying Lackey D via Lisa, aka Tattletale; with the Vs debate comment.

I'm asking why. As in why did it strike up, and why is it on going. In this thread. IF Lisa was to show up, it would be relevant to the thread, but as I'm fairly sure Shibosho isn't going to cross this with Worm, this debate would be best served in the Vs board.

(reads Choco's response) Ah. Okay, so you just wanted to debate with someone. I take it the Vs board isn't intellectual enough to sate your argumentative needs? Fair 'nuff.

Sorry about that. I got too caught up in the argument.
I continued arguing as it changed from "can this specific fictional character do this thing" to "can any private detective do it?", which I found topical enough.

*Blinks* Oh... I must confess I didn't notice that switch. I, uh, largely skimmed the debate posts.

Eh, the conversation about if it's even possible for anybody to find us is actually relevant to the story, so I'm in favor of continuing it.

And if nothing else, it sure beats talking about arbitrary "How to deal with Yandere, and Ghost." As if it's a ghost horror story with pitchforks and ideas on 'better get exorcism in hand'.

And how there's likely a divide/meh camp on "should we waifu a Yandere", or "we must banish a horrific monster!", and how I'd likely hedge/bet either approach is at equal risk of... Escalating our Yandere Ghost issue/problems, to become a magnet for Covenent.

Honestly, to be more serious...

If anything, if I'm playing by arbitary cameo references, I'd actually say/hedge it'd be more likely for Lisa to end up in a Villain group/side, say. One who'd likely know who we are, what we'd want, and know what buttons to push to get us to do what she'd want. Mainly, money, villainry, glory.

And depending on context? Possible back up plan within the RX Group.

-

But eh, even more serious. GM Whim would likely determine what sort of cameo's would appear, I'd bet/feel. And for all we know, we could end up with a cross quest collision/interaction later on, depending on how this quest goes.

I'm itching to do another omake right now but am out of ideas except one...
Please send ideas my way and i might do them in my spare time

I'm thinking of tacking on another part to the omake i did earlier - Admiring the View
It takes place after Lackey D's transformation and revolves around the ghost stalker trying to get a look at Lackey D's enhanced package :ogles: :ogles:
It also includes a scene where she tries to jump him while he's on the john (unfortunately for her he was sitting down reading the paper)
Any other ideas to go along with this premise?

An omake idea I had, revolved around Lackey D doing a daily exercise , while looking at a Lucha Libre show. And how that partly saved him from getting caught by the Covenent, and a possible idea behind becoming a Lackey for protection and an actual life.

I like that idea but am stumped as to how it partly saves him. Still wracking my head for ideas in the meantime
Daily exercise helped him with minimal preparation at running away?
Lackey D gets idea of a secret identity while watching Lucha Libre - Be the mask and never take it off?

Was thinking more mask initially, and ends with an idea on how to become a more competent lackey...

... All while, and Yandere Ghost stares at his body in obsession.

But eh, you know how things start from the littlest of things.

Usually random event rolls follow a dice check scale similar to this;
1-9 crit fail,
10-19 major fail,
20-29 fail,
30-39 moderate fail,
40-49 minor fail,
50 average,
51-60 minor success,
61-70 moderate success,
71-80 success,
81-90 major success,
91-100 crit success.

So, the only real questions are, whom was it that just got lucky? And how much of a --- is the QM going to be about it?

Week 4 - Random Event
Week 4 - Random Event

It seems to be a running trend with Miss Scientist calling everyone to come to her laboratory to see her latest finished project. However, this time around, everyone was aware that Miss Scientist had been working on the first human-type monster of RX Group. By now, almost everyone that has visited the lab at any time this week should have at least seen the young woman who would be undergoing the monsterisation process.

Like with X-kun, Miss Scientist was waiting next to a large pod chamber thing connected to a whole bunch of machines when everyone showed up to see what was going on. As usual, Miss Scientist started the presentation by greeting everyone.

"Hello everyone! Is this everyone? Yes, it's everyone. Ahem. Last week I created X-kun to demonstrate the viability of my work. Today, I give you the first true product of my genius! Come out, Type 1 Humanoid Monster, G-chan!" The moment Miss Scientist finished talking, the pod chamber began to open, letting out steam with a woosh sound. When the chamber fully opened, there was too much steam to see what was inside.

However, footsteps could be heard as the person inside walked out of the chamber. Emerging from the steam almost like a wraith was RX Group's newest member.

Your first impression of your newest member was that she was a dark skinned monster girl. She was about as tall as Miss General, perhaps a few inches shorter. Her hair was platinum blonde with the side bang reaching down to her shoulders while the rest was bent back in a natural way, with two long locks that looked like antennas coming just about her forehead. She wore dark pantaloons paired with a sleeveless ribbed sweater and a white jacket tied around her waist by the sleeves. A scarp with an X emblem on the front was wrapped around her neck. From her back were two black cape like protrusions that reminded you of the wings of a night creature. It was her eyes that told you she was no longer human. Her whites of her glaring eyes were black and her iris glowed with an ominous yellow. Her body was tensed as though it could spring into violence at any moment.

This was RX Group's first true monster. Everyone stared at the humanoid monster, aweing and oohing quietly at her presence.

"Ooooh! It's a dark skinned ninja girl!" The boss suddenly piped up, breaking the tension that was building up in the room.

"Fufufu...Bwhahahaha! Perfect! Braveman is sure to be impressed when he sees that RX Group finally has its own monster!"

Miss Scientist began snickering as G-Chan suddenly looked apprehensive and began fidgeting on the spot.

"Kukuku, indeed! G-Chan here, when she came to me, asked me to make her ninja-like! And with some creative thinking, I have succeeded!"

"M-M-Miss Scientist!" G-Chan cried out, appalled that tidbit of information being exposed. YOu notice that her antenna-like locks have suddenly shrunk and her eyes have changed, becoming normal in appearance with the glare softening into a shy and awkward expression.

"So wait, what do you mean ninja-like?" One of the Lackeys asked.

"Oh, you know, Ninja-like! Ninjas are all about being fast, stealthy, dark, and have hidden weapons right? Well G-Chan here has all that as well!" Miss Scientist explained with G-Chan shyly nodding in confirmation. "Thanks to the modifications, only the fastest heroes can even think about just keeping up with G-Chan on foot! Not only that, she can generate a silence field that erases all sound that she makes! And since ninjas have all kinds of hidden weapons on them, G-chan also has something like that as well! She's everything that a ninja gotta be!"

"H-Hai! That's right! I'm a ninja monster girl!" G-Chan proclaimed as she got caught up in Miss Scientist's explanation. "It's been my dream since I was a little girl to become a ninja and now, it's finally came true!"

"Fufufu, good good! We really needed someone who specialises in sneaky stuff! I, the Boss, welcomes you to RX Group, G-chan! Let us take over the world together!"

Well, looks like things are off to a great start for G-Chan.

You can't help but wonder what creature Miss Scientist based G-Chan's ability off from. Well, no matter. As long as she contributes to RX Group without too much trouble, it doesn't really matter.

....

Type 1 Humanoid Monster, G-Chan has joined RX Group! Her powers include high speed movement, silence field, retractable arm spikes and blades, and enhanced senses.

right ? oke, that is a thing now.
cool our very own ninja girl with spike arms

...
wait x-23 less murderous twin??

So it seems like that roll really was for us.
Would we get a different monster with a different roll though?
Or a weaker version of current G-Chan?

But either way- ninjas! Finally! Now nothing can stop the might of Black Kingdom RX-Group!
Braveman won't even know what hit him!

Uses include spying, assasination and direct combat application.
"M-M-Miss Scientist!" G-Chan cried out, appalled that tidbit of information being exposed. You notice that her antenna-like locks have suddenly shrunk and her eyes have changed, becoming normal in appearance with the glare softening into a shy and awkward expression.
Also minor PR boost. Cause cute. Next recruitment videos better make use of her. ;)
