Even Further Beyond [Complete]

[X] Mercy

I have a diffident preference against megatorture, but fuck the fates. Justice is pointless (put that on my grave!); the purpose of punishment is clearly not rehabilitation here. If Nameless is after satisfaction, Vengeance is better. Except it's evil, I guess. Don't be evil. Unless you want to.

Anyway, voting for decency as a general principle even though I couldn't care less about the well-being of the fates. Seven Beeps would be nice, though.

[X] Justice

if Suizhen can deal with not getting to kill Zang Kong then Baenlixre can deal with not getting to murdertorture the Fates for all eternity. Especially when Justice allows for funnier outcomes instead of Vengeance's EDGE

We are already fulfilling the wishes of the lich by this option even if it's not the exact vengeance he wanted.

What? If he has a problem with that, next time he should include it into the fine print. We promised vengeance, not the worst things that could be done to them.

Let's give them what they deserved, no more no less. 7 BP doesnt even matter.

[X] Vengeance

It's either this or mercy, and i value fulfilling the spirit of Lich Dad's request slightly more than what drives me to mercy.

People really think "satisfying" one mentor is worth reading through updates full of edge and torture and having all our future artefacts permanently warped into nightmarish forms?

I remember Imperia situation that one choice clearly superior to another.

And Rihaku said that we choose the right one when join Imperia.

But in the end we know that every faction has a lot of blood on their hand.
The thing that kept us loyal to Imperia is our feeling.

This Lich maybe not give us foot fetish like Imperia but he give up his hate and only demand vengeance in return.

It is kind of honor the deal of the man that in his word sold himself cheaply.

"Oh, Papa," Xiaoling raised a disappointed eyebrow. "Isn't it obvious? Like you always said: it's not what you know, it's who."
OMG. Let me get this straight. Xiaoling took over the family seat and got massively empowered by basically doing... nothing? Except maybe partying extra hard and giving us daddy's money. Just who is the real protagonist here?

I'll vote later, because right now I'm inclined to take Vengeance against Xiaoling.

After epilogue I want to force current emperor actually doing his job thought.:)

After reread some of it.Seem like sect Titan is has more peaceful personality than I thought.

Sect Titan only act and conquer other sect when situation getting out of hand but Type I is not enough for Empire stability.

@Rihaku What happen to Liefang reality effect after the fate is deal with?

Total annihilation is quite enough, especially since with it, Nameless also spare himself any emotional or mental workload torturing beings, even as deplorable as those, would generate in him. He's a lazy scam-artist at heart, why would he burden himself further ?

Actually negotiation with Kong is won thought.

Because this choice will change our protagonist just as much as influence the fate of the reality. Remember his flaws, guys. Do we want Nameless to turn into something even worse than Fates? I find this bit pretty telling for our future state of Self:

*Future Artifacts crafted will be somewhat twisted and horrifying, though their function on a technical level will be similar.

I'm pretty sure that all the BP we gain from Vengeance - and more - won't allow us to switch tracks from the disappointing and bitter "triumph" we will set up for ourselves this way.

Hrm, I was all ready for Vengeance to make our lich mentor proud, but you all are right, I don't really want to read an update of edge, I'd much rather see the fates reduced to our cowering servants.

Vengeance sounds exhaustingly busy with suffering. Justice feels more true to the Nameless who will do just enough and skive off afterwards. He has a responsibility to his mentor, yes, and to the people who have suffered in ages past. But he also has clear preferences for things to not be too troublesome, and thus the middle ground is the happy place to be.

Besides, reproduction of suffering as punishment is much more conceptually suitable than the idea of managing an unending festival of escalating torture porn.

Make the Fates live with knowing that Nameless is better than them. They have all eternity to live with knowing that they utterly failed to make Nameless into the horror of the past Age that they tried to use as the villain for the heroine to defeat and usher in a new Age.

Can we ress and vamp Lich daddy and then offload entire torture business to him?

That's the plan if you choose Vengeance and don't abosrb them into the Jewels.

A Rihaku quest is having a proper conclusion? It's like a dream...

Is that all Jounin quest was to you? An impossible ideal of a dream?

I'm flattered.

She helped you find Tyranshal, of course she should share in the benefits!

Nameless, as always, does the least he can get away with. And really, the aim of justice is rehabilitation. Let the Fates remember the next time it goes into their heads to play around with mere mortals.

Mercy is not something they deserve. Vengeance is too much work.
