When someone has zero (0) in a skill(s) that they are rolling (in this case Athletics) then they roll a single d10: 1 is a critical fail, 2-9 is a regular fail, and a 10 still counts as 2 successes. Sometimes it is enough to pass a simple or moderate test, Like our friend the ball golem, but it's basically up to fate. Thus the name.

I think that Cody has become our rival in the game of Hitball, which seems to have the place of Mon battles here.

Right, gonna need 5 d5 rolls, and 2 d2s. I'd rather not have a single person rolling all of one type.
