[X] What her class schedule looked like. You were kind-of-sorta friends, so it'd be nice to know if you were in the same classes.
"Lara," you begin, "What classes are you taking this year?"
"Hm?" she seems a little confused at the sudden question, "Well, I'm taking European History, Ethereal Theory, Mythic Beings and Ritual Binding." That is... actually kind of weird. Mythic Beings is supposed to be a pretty useless class, seeing as they've all but died out. "Hey, don't look at me like that, history can be interesting!"
"Who's teaching your Ethereal Theory class?"
"Professor L'Arc, why? Do you have it too?" Well, it looks like the two of you share one class,
[X] Unpack your things and tinker a little. You didn't bring much, but you are an artificer, and you could use some of this time to prepare. Besides, your roommate might come back in the meantime, and you could introduce yourself.
It didn't take long to set up your workshop, as you'd done it some dozen other times before. Really, the hardest part was filling a bucket with water, just in case. You had learned safety precautions pretty quickly after your first couple of… mishaps. Your brother still hadn't stopped teasing you over those.
You consider meeting up with Lara, maybe talk about exploring the campus tomorrow, but the idea of leaving practically defenseless didn't sit well with you. The only reason you had even traveled without any charms ready was because you figured finding the time to do maintenance wasn't worth the effort while traveling.
Of course, you had made sure to bring components you were familiar with, and a quick once over of your materials and you had a rough plan of what you were going to build. There'd even be some left over materials to experiment with your new idea, although you might want to be on the lookout for a more powerful reagent to base it around. The school had advertised on campus magic stores, maybe you could look around there?
Pick 3 (You can choose the same option multiple times)
[X] <Encircling Aegis, Combat Long, Self Buff>
An old favorite of yours. You usually build it in the shape of a ring with twine or something to that extent twisted around it. When used, the string unravels and a nearly invisible, circular shield appears around you. Encircling Aegis is a potent defense against all magical attacks (6 Ethereal dice), and helps to deter most physical threats (2 Physical dice).
[X] <Devouring Wave, Targeted Area Attack, 3 Rounds>
A thumb-sized blue beetle on a necklace, it looks like an entirely normal, if scarab inspired, piece of jewelry. At closer inspection it is composed of hundreds of smaller bugs, that seem to shift as you watch them. The beetle will turn into a swarm of consuming insects that attack area of your designation. The individual insects can bite and sting (2 physical dice), but they also magically devour their surroundings (4 ethereal dice). Devouring Wave cannot tell friends from foes.
[X] <Drop of Sunlight, 3 Rounds, Targeted Buff>
A small vial containing a golden liquid that flows like honey. You do your best to keep it tightly sealed, because when bugs get in they grow to some massive sizes. The Drop of Sunlight can be drank to regenerate (8 health a rounds) for 3 rounds.
[X] <Dust Devil, Summoning>
It might not be an *actual* dust devil, but you had thought it a fitting name. The Dust Devil will follow you around as a barely noticeable wisp of sand, but at your command it will grow to nearly three feet tall. It can understand only very simple commands (defend/attack/retrieve). It's attacks are limited by it's small form (4 physical dice) but if an enemy doesn't actively defend themselves the Dust Devil can attempt to choke them. The Dust Devil's nearly immaterial form leaves it more or less immune to all physical attacks (12 health).
You had just started cleaning up when a clawed hand grabbed your shoulder. Nearly jumping in surprise, you drop your supplies all over the table you were working at. The hand was connected to a … well endowed kobold female. She looked like a five foot tall wolf wearing a plain T-shirt and what seemed like a random assortment of earrings. "Hey there," she says, looking insufferably pleased with herself, "you my roomie?"
"Uh," her grin was full of teeth that might as well be knives... "Yeah. My name's Soheil. Nice to meet you." You were about to offer a hand to shake, but she interrupted you with a sharp tug on your arm.
"I'm Anya Lendert, now let's get going!" she starts doing her best to drag you out of the room, "Don't want to miss dinner!"
Day One 6:05PM Dinner // August 26th, 2009
Choose One
[X] Go find Lara. You don't really want to imagine eating at the same table as Anya. [++ Lara relationship increase, ?? Meet Lara's roommate.]
[X] Eat with Anya. As much as she unsettles you, it'd be kind of rude to blow her off when she made sure you got to dinner. [++ Anya relationship increase, -- She's kind of scary… -- Seen eating with a kobold]
[X] Rush through the meal. Talking at dinner didn't sound that fun, especially when you could be picking out a base for your Chained Artifice. [++ Can finish your Chained Artifice first thing tomorrow. -- No relationship increase, -- Exploring alone]
[Lara Ramsund] 6/40 "Friend?"
Tall, blond haired with a dragon tattoo around her throat. It seems to be a touchy subject with her.
[Anya Lendert] -5*/40 "Scary Roommate"
A well endowed kobold who happens to be your roommate. She looks a little like a giant wolf that walks on two legs.
(* it's not that she dislikes you, it's that she scares the shit out of you)
