Erm, just because the PC has a lot of pride doesn't mean we shouldn't be wary of bad interactions. Far from it. Rather it's because of that pride that I'd prefer to avoid bad interactions early on as it will likely set a negative opinion against the other characters that will be hard to get rid of.
Let me try this again. The Prince is extremely arrogant. The Pride Trait probably even worsened it. We're going to trigger bad interactions close to anything we choose when it doesn't involve the people of our Planet most likely. Also, I really don't want to choose the "safe" options all the time. The raging asshole was chosen. So let's be a raging asshole.

Wow dude, let's look at the actual description shall we?
-[] Prideful - You are the Prince. And you own up to it. You are from the strongest Saiyan Bloodline, THE Bloodline which has produced the only ever known Super Saiyan. You wear that title with Pride. (Conflicts with Humble)

Just become someone is proud of themselves and their bloodline doesn't mean they have to be a "raging asshole" I get that you don't like that the other plan won, but you don't have to whine about it, deliberately misinterpret things to the player character's negative (A PC who's personality has barely had a chance to be established) and try to intentionally run things into the ground.

Dude. Please read these two cons from the character select for the Prince.
Cons: Almost blind arrogance. Bullheaded nature.
This combined with the Pride Trait, a Trait I also had in my plan mind you, scream to me raging asshole. I don't care that my Plan lost, what I really wanted anyways got in with the winning plan, I'm just playing the character as I see him. I don't want the "safe" choices because I don't see him reacting that way. Nothing short of relief will probably stop him from speaking up anyways about this.

Still, I doubt I'll change my mind, especially since you seem to think I'm trying to run the quest into the ground cuz my plan didn't win, so I'll leave it like this.

And let's get a vote tally up in here.

Gonna leave this open a bit longer. If I don't get the update up tomorrow I don't know when I'll be able to due to a busy schedule.

Devil's Advocate? Or the True Prince?

Devil's Advocate, or the True Prince?

You wear the shocked expression upon your face, your thoughts racing faster than you can keep up with them.

Marriage? Right of Passage!? This isn't right this can't be I'mthePrinceofTarbleIbelongherewithmypeoplenotoffinspaceoffdoingwhoknowshwhatonsomeplanetfaraway-

"Is there something you wish to say, boy?"

The bass of King Finnyl's voice brings you out of your stupor, and you stare at him blankly for a few moments before collecting yourself. You shake your head, unable to come up with the words for what you're feeling for the first time in ages.

You turn your head towards your mother, who hasn't yet answered the King. The deal has yet to be made. But you already know that it will be. And that you have little choice.

Your mother gives you a stern look, before approaching the King and outstretching her arm. The two grasp each other's forearms firmly and nod.

The two had agreed to the deal. In most likely two years time, perhaps earlier, you shall be sent off into space with five other Saiyan youth. The only one confirmed being Princess Soko, and upon your return, you were to marry her.

You're only ten. This is all too much to take in. You're the Prince of Tarble. Not the… The sudden realization hits you. With this revelation and deal, you are no longer simply Heir to the Throne of Tarble. No, you are Heir to the Throne of All Saiyans. You shall be The King. The first true King in hundreds, if not a thousand years.

And you, for one, hold Pride in that sentiment. And you were that smug expression proudly upon your face as the King and his Queen depart. Soko stands behind for a moment, looking your way. Her face is still expressionless. It is almost as if she dare not show any emotion. She then turns and follows her parents and guards out of the Throne Hall.

"My son, follow me."

You trail behind your mother as you exit the hall.

"You need to hide your emotions more, like the Princess. I did not raise you to be ruled by your emotions, but to rule them."

"Yes mother," You answer.

The two of you stop in the hallway, and she turns around and looks you over. She kneels to your level, placing her hand upon your shoulder.

"I know," She pauses as if struggling to say the words, or even find them, "That I am often hard upon you. I know that I do not often make it clear, but you are my son. The heir to my throne, my replacement, and my legacy. I agreed to those terms to allow you a better future, to allow our people a better future. Perhaps when we are unified, Inglund will not be so harsh upon us, and our people. It's a lot to ask of you, my boy, but stay strong. In a week's time, the Admiral shall be arriving for an inspection and recruitment."

She quickly glances away, then back to you.

"He has had his eye upon not only Soko but yourself as well for potential protegees. I fear if he is not allowed the two of you, he may instead demand one of your siblings."

You look at your feet before you answer your mother.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[ ] "It would be an honor to serve under the Grand Admiral, and I acknowledge that in doing so may forfeit my right to the Throne." - You shall be taught and trained personally by the Grand Admiral himself to be his replacement in the Imperial Fleet. (This will also potentially lead to a villain/anti-hero quest.)
[ ] "It cannot be me, for I am the Heir to the Throne. That would also undermine your work today." - You shall remain the Heir to the Throne, and be sent off upon your Rite of Passage. (With this choice you can still remain more on a heroic path, though you may become a villain later.)
[ ] "I cannot make up my mind as of now. I'd much rather wait until I come face to face with him before making that decision. I have only heard of him, and have never met him." - You shall wait until you meet the Admiral before you make up your mind. This is a life altering, as well as quest altering decision after all.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No traits as of yet to gain.
This vote is going to be one of the most important votes early on and shall define your first trait.
Vote at your leisure, and remember. Actions have consequences. Debate is advised.
And yes, you are capable of becoming a villain protagonist.
I'm learning towards staying as the Heir as far as things are concerned since most of his emotional and people traits were chosen for more positive interacts with people despite the massive ego.
Seconded. Choosing to throw that away would go directly against the whole pride personality trait.
The second vote makes the most sense to me here.
HAHAHAHAHA oh, that ignorant woman. Soko is not stoic due to being healthily trained in politics. She's stoic due to a decade long experience of abuse.
Also, yes, agreeing does go against the Pride Trait that was chosen.
Also, I'm amazed we didn't have an outburst. Though I suppose that is a good way to rationalize one of the few choices you can afford in your life be taken away.
I mean... the player character is a Saiyan from saiyan culture. Even if it's an AU I'm surprised it's not villain protagonist by default.:p
Just a vote tally. Not closing the vote just yet.
Every single vote is the same vote.
Welp.
