I... I don't even know. I'll just grab a post that looks alright because honestly I'm not even laughing, I'm just confused. I mean I get the Masked Admiral thing, but...

[X] Blink. Rub your eyes a moment. Ponder that this might be a test, or a joke to set you at ease, or to distract you from anything else in the room.
-[X] Salute. Thank the Admiral for his concern. Also, thank him for the timely aid in battle. Scan the room for things from which the mask may have been intended to distract.
-[X] If or when he asks if you have any questions, ask him:
--[X] Why have America's shipgirls been sent here instead of serving in American waters when they are so difficult to summon... unless, maybe, that is the reason? For Japan to research why this is?
--[X] If your reputation is likely to cause trouble?

Same here. Honestly I believe the best thing to do is to just ignore the crazy and keep proper military protocol. While silently praying for someone to save us from this insanity.

Besides the best counter to trolling is to not react at all.

I feel the blindingly obvious is being missed.

[X] What. This can't be- Oh. Okay. You understand.
-[X] Turn to Kongou "I get it, you don't want your admiral to meet me. I did faint from seeing a new ship summon herself, it's cool. I shouldn't bother them, no need to meet Willy D. I-I'll go bug Iowa or *sniff* head back to the docks *sniff* I think pipes leaking or-or something, bye."
[X] Start walking back to the docks as naturally as you can after finding out even the Japanese think so little of you, trying not to cry your little Fletcher heart out.

Wait, they don't? Not even upon meeting an Admiral? I admit I'm not an army/navy/air force/ANY kind of military enthusiast, so I know pretty much nothing about military protocol
It's Navy regulation to only salute while covered(wearing a hat), and its also regulations to remove your cover when stepping indoors. So Naval personnel don't salute while indoors.

Proper protocol for Navy and Marine Corps personnel to greet superior officers is to come to attention, and give the greeting of the day.

Huh. I knew about the removing hats while indoors (I live near a Navy Base up in Washington State, so I see a lot of people in the Navy in town, and did notice they always took their hats off indoors) but I didn't know about the whole "You only salute while covered" thing. Thanks!
