Discord Annihilation Theory: All The Lights in The Sky (Magical Burst RP)

Just how shady is the Ueki corporation? And even if it's only In rumors How bad does it get?
Oh rumors are nasty. There´s lots of conspiracy theories and the like. Though officially they´re(mostly) squeaky clean. There´s certainly suspicion over their success.

No big company can be completely spotless right?

Mortifer: God of War

Dammit, someone convince me not to make Bootleg Sheryl Nome.

Would that be justice?

Name: Nensho Masako

Magical Girl Name: Breathtaking Brawler Beautiful Bishamon

Age: 18

What kind of girl are you? When one lives a life of poverty and misery, you need to find something to believe in. In the case of Masako, that 'Something' was the idea that 'Everyone will get what is coming to them.' In other words, those who suffer and do no wrong will find themselves, in the end, living happily, while those who do wrong and make others suffer will, in the end, be made to suffer in turn.

As she grew older, and her outlook bleaker, Masako's worldview around this topic changed, somewhat. The world wasn't fair enough for this to happen- But it should. And if it would not happen otherwise, she would force it to happen. Shortly after this, rumours started to abound that, when a crime was committed, a masked girl with iron fists would appear to punish the criminal.

After her mother died, the girl moved to Odaka with her grandmother, and Masako thought that was the end of her career. However, as low as the crime rates are, they still exist, and not every crime is caught be the police...

What drove you to make a Pact? The desire to better bring justice! She was doing alright on her own, but her mother was starting to wonder why she kept coming home covered in bruises...

What is your wish? To bring Justice to the whole world.

Magical Element: Magnetism.

Magical Power: Justice Sight. By focusing hard enough, Masako can see people in 'Colours'- White for those who are innocent, and red for those who she needs to apply her Justice to.

Costume:
Weapon:
Metal gloves

Normal Attributes:
Physical: 7
Finesse: 6
Social: 3

Magical Attributes:
Magic: 6
Heart: 6
Fury: 6

Talents:
Major Talent: Walk It Off
Given her vigilante habits and the fact that she tends to go around covered in bruises, Masako eventually developed the ability to ignore any pain she is in, at least outwardly, to avoid giving off any signs that something is wrong.

Major Talent: Hide and Seek
The police in her old city weren't exactly happy with a vigilante running around, and in order to avoid being found and prevented from continuing her habits, Masako got real good at losing people in back alleys and blending into crowds.

Minor Talent: Intimidation
Masako can sound tough when she needs to. Under the right circumstances, it can even be enough to scare someone off.

Minor Talent: Brawling
Not a real fighting style, Masako is really good at hitting people until they stop hitting back.

Archetype: Guardian

Magical Effects: Taunt, I Shall Never Fall

Signature Attacks: Retribution- When struck with an attack, Masako responds with a Riposte, a punch to the stomach with as much poer behind it as she can manage.

Crisis: It may be entirely possible that, upon making her pact and getting her Justice Sight, Masako learnt that her mother wasn't a paragon or morality. And it may be possible that Masako overreacted, struck out, and accidentally pushed her out a window. All that has been proven is that something happened to Masako's mother that made her fall out a window, and she landed in a way that broke her neck. ...Oops?

Relationships:
Grandma (Mentor 1): Masako's grandmother, who lived alone until recently. Due to a variety of familial issues, they'd only met a few times before the death of Masako's mother. Still, she's a nice enough lady, so maybe their bond could be improved soon?

Landmark: Masako's mother worked for a private security company that is based in Odaka, which was recently investigated regarding rumours of Yakuza connections. Though nothing came of it, so clearly they must only be rumours. Right?

No we are not having maximum justice.

...ok that actually sounds like a pretty decent mg name.

Deciding between a dark magical girl who literally sends her adorable monions to die for her and a student council member who is pursuing her own ideas of justice...which involve a lot of beating people while philosophizing until they're her friends (she's literally if Armstrong from metal gear revengeance raised a high school girl).

I'll just hope not too many of us go edgy here. Come on, we all remember what normal girls are actually like, right? Right?

Why is there Abraham Lincoln?!

Ugh. Some part of me just wants a character who can cheerfully bat/punt bomb-Oms into the enemy. I may also be an edge lord in denial. It's unclear.

...that's it I am summoning adorable bomb shaped minions and throwing/hitting them into my enemies. That is obviously true justice(I'm sorry but I need it out of my system).

Would she be acceptable?
I am totally willing to make needed adjustments

Okay, here we go, with apologies to Rayearth and Sayaka Miki

Asakura Aurora, nee Aurora LaSalle De Montfort

Magical Girl name: Crimson Crusader Phoenix Aurora

Age: 16

Appearance: A willowy and athletic pale-skinned Eurasian girl, leggy and relatively small-breasted. Her dark reddish hair is long and braided, and she has reddish brown eyes under arched eyebrows. She has graceful and quick movements, and her voice is sonorous and deeper than expected. She prefers reds and whites in her clothes.

History:

Born to a mixed Eurasian couple (her father was Alexandre Henri Lasalle de Montfort, a French madical doctor and relief worker, her mother Asakura Hinako a Multilingual translator), Aurora grew up partially on the road and partially in the Lorraine home of her father.
The couple had always had problems with her maternal family (her branch of the Montforts being near extinct), but other than that...well, she had a happy child hood.
Her father was a great fan of chivalric romance and she grew up with the legends of Roland, King Arthur, Godefroy de Buillion and Bayard...with the chivalric ideal.. and the burning wish to be like the knights of old.
Not like the damsels in the tales.
Perhaps the illness her mother contracted during charity work in a third world country made her identify more with male role-models like her active and vigorous father then her ailing and three years hospitalized mother. Who knows?
After her mother died, her formidable Grandmother managed to pressure her father over the course of three years to give her over to the rest of the Asakura Clan, where she has lived for almost four years now. She had remained close to her father, managing to write and mail him constantly...
Until he died this spring, when a clinic he worked in got taken by the Taliban and then forcibly retaken by Coalition forces...

What kind of girl are you?

A somewhat cracked idealist, full of desperate hope..
While by now Aurora is very aware of the fact that heroes die, good intent is not enough, happy endings are not guaranteed, and she can snark about it with the most cynical; In the end she doggedly and with great zeal pursues her ideals of honor, duty and compassion.
While something as gauche as "Hero of Justice" would never pass her lips, that is what she aspires to with all the passion and burning zeal she has.

In her interactions with others she comes across as a friendly, helpful person... who can and does explode into hot, burning anger at injustice and cruelty.
She is not one to easily compromise her ideals, and is militant in defending them.
However, that also makes her unwilling to steal or poach gems...
She is also quite willing to cooperate, but heaven help traitors.

In school she is neither a star pupil nor a slouch, excelling in social sciences, language studies and P.E.
She is in the fencing club... vice president, actually.

What drove you to make a Pact?

The death of her father in Afghanistan... well, more the hope to bring him back..

What is your wish?

Resurrecting her parents. She is confident she can do it. She simply has to.

Crisis:

Her "Evil funhouse mirror twin" of a cousin , Asahina Sadako- voluptuous where Aurora is boyish, a plotter where Aurora is open, and a spoiled egoist to boot-has suddenly declared hostilities opened, so to speak and Aurora has no idea why mutual annoyed irritation has suddenly turned into open animosity on Sadako's side... or what she should do.

Magical Element:

Fire

Magical Weapon:

FLAMBERGE

An absurdly large sword with a golden heft, a ruby-red pommel and wavy blade.
Just how absurdly large it can get depends... it seems to slowly shift from "just a big longsword '' over "full two-handed" to " Possible in a Manga-only stupid WTF uberblade" according to Aurora's needs.
In any form, she is perfectly at ease wielding it.

Magical Power:

Restoration and reinvirogation of life and Health

Costume:

White-and-red reinforced-knee high-plateau boots, and a short skirt. A silver and red lamellar armor under a long red and silver coat that is slit up to the hips. Long finger-less white and red opera stylegloves going up to the elbow. Hair done in two braids, then bound up in a loop.

Interested Party: Lucky Girl
Name: Deguchi Mayu

Magical Girl Name: Magical Girl Gangster
Age: 16

What kind of girl are you? Mayu was orphaned very, very young. Young to the point that she has practically no memory of her parents. As such her first memories are of growing up in one of the city orphanages. It was one of the more run-down, less tended to orphanages, but that was not ultimately why she left. Nor was it any form of mistreatment - the people in charge of the orphanage were nice enough, and the attitudes of the other children to her were about average. No, she eventually ran away because she got sick of the whole deal where the children had to "preform" to try to convince the various people who came in to adopt them.

Of course, being a very young child, Mayu didn't quite think the whole matter of "running away" through. But by the time it occurred to her that the orphanage wasn't all that bad, really, she'd managed to go and forget where the orphanage was.

Here her story intersects with that of Haru. He was a semiretired member of the city's criminal organization - far enough retired to not take as much of an active role in its running, but still referred to by the organization's leadership for advice and occasionally asked for favors. The organization's members were becoming increasingly aware of the strange goings-on in town, and they were becoming frightened. And frightened people did stupid things, frightened people considered changing leadership to whoever might promise protection the most convincingly. To avoid the city's criminal underbelly fracturing in that way and causing chaos and open crime that the city hadn't seen in years, Haru began investigating the mysterious events to at least try to figure out what was going on.

Haru and Mayu ran into each other by pure chance in the street one day, - Mayu enjoying a pear she had managed to lift from a shop, and Haru attempting to investigate a recent spate of disappearances in the area. After an awkward start - Mayu tried to kick Haru in the shins and run the other way, Haru made a lunge for Mayu on pure instinct - the two started to somewhat get along. Then the youma responsible for the disappearances that Haru had been investigating happened across both of them.

Haru was a very minor magical talent, but that was hardly enough for him to do much of anything. Mayu didn't even have that much. So when the Tsukaima came along and offered her a way to save both herself and the nice man she had just met, well, it was barely able to finish its pitch before she accepted.

Mayu was able to defeat the youma after her transformation - intimidating though it was for a normal person, on the scale of things it was really very weak. After that, Haru decided to take Mayu under his wing, as it was. A few days and called-in favours later, and Haru was listed as Mayu's legal guardian on the papers in city hall, and Mayu had moved into Haru's house.

Personality-wise, Mayu is a snarker. She has a tendency to go through most situations making dry observations and comparisons, arguably as a bit of a coping mechanism for the weirdness that's been injected into her life since she made her Pact. (The fact that Haru is a bit of a snarker as well doesn't hurt.) She does try to restrain herself when it comes to the possibility of her sense of humor hurting the feelings of others, though when given reason to cut loose her tongue can be quite sharp. She doesn't make many friends, being a bit stand-offish, but she is fiercely protective of the friends she does have.

What drove you to make a Pact? At the time it was either make a Pact or both her and Haru would die. After that she's been doing her best to make a purpose of her own out of the situation, based in large part in killing youma, helping Haru with his continuing investigations, and maybe following in his footsteps one day.

What is your wish? Haru is fascinated by Mayu's magic, so much more powerful and versatile than his own. Mayu honestly doesn't want anything for herself out of the wish, when Haru took her in that was already more than she would've wished for herself, but for Haru to be able to have powers like her... that would be nice.

Magical Element: Shadow - Mayu can play with shadows beyond their normal physical capabilities. In particular she can pull them out beyond their usual bounds, use them to grab something and move it, make them darker, make them lighter, use them to trip someone or something, and so on. However, it must originate from a shadow already being cast naturally, and the smaller and lighter that shadow is to begin with, the harder it is for her to do anything with it.

Magical Power: Shadow Step - given two shadows of sufficient size (i.e. big enough for Mayu to fit her whole body into) and a clear line of sight from one shadow to the other, Mayu is capable of walking into one shadow and consequently walking out of the other shadow.

Costume: She has short-cut black hair and purple eyes. When untransformed, she prefers relatively unremarkable t-shirts and pants. A pocket watch, her transformation trinket, is kept in her pocket at all times.

An image of her transformed is within the spoiler tag below.

Weapon: Knives, about four inches long and with moderately ornate handles. She is able to produce more of them from various areas on her person in the event that she loses one. That is to say, if she is holding two knifes and loses one, she can flick her wrist to have another knife slide out into her hand despite no such knife being stored there beforehand.

Normal Attributes:
Physical - 5
Finesse - 7
Social - 4

Magical Attributes:
Magic - 7
Heart - 5
Fury - 6

Talents:

-Like The Back of My Hand (Major) -
Having lived on the streets of Odaka for a significant portion of her life, Mayu is intimately familiar with the streets and back alleys of the city. Shady corners, decrepit and abandoned buildings that can provide shelter from the elements for a night or two - all the places that the reputable citizenry tries to ignore. For every nook and cranny in the city, odds are she knows about it.

-Knows A Guy (Major) - Since her adoption by Haru, she's been becoming increasingly familiar with the criminal underbelly, it's workings, and it's members - and they've been becoming increasingly familiar with her. As such, she is perfectly capable of asking them for favours, be it asking for the latest rumors or getting ahold of items that may not be legal in the strictest sense. All she needs is time to find one of the people she knows and ask them.

-Razor Tongue (Minor) - She doesn't usually like to, but when aggravated she is capable of taking a person's worldview and attitude and tearing them apart verbally - provided, of course, that she knows their worldview and attitude. It's somewhat stunted by her relative lack of human interaction, but she is still decent at it.

-It Takes A Soft Touch (Minor) - You don't tend to get much money for being a street rat, not through normal means anyways. As such, Mayu has picked up on the skills of pickpocketing and palming items surreptitiously as a simple matter of survival.

Archetype:

Tactician:
The supports. They get a +1 to Support challenges, which means an easier time of weaving spells in a fight. In addition, they can choose an extra Signature Attack at chargen and can use their Integrity Scan ability to check the condition of their opponents.

Magical Effects:

-General:

Assassinate
Primary: (1/Battle, Normal Action)

You may perform the Assassinate attack action. Roll an attack with a +1 bonus to hit. Your enemies may not use Reactions or Special Actions to defend against this attack or the damage dealt by it.

Secondary: (Passive)
Your first Normal or Multiple Target attack per battle gains a +2 bonus to hit and a +1 bonus to damage.

-Tactician:

Adaptability
Primary: (Free Action, 2/Battle)

Activate this ability to change what Magical Attributes are assigned to either your or an ally's Attack, Defense and Support as a free action. You may do this even while resolving a Magical Challenge, as long as you have not yet accumulated any Overcharge during that challenge. If you have accumulated Overcharge during that challenge, you may instead move one point of that Overcharge to a different attribute.

Secondary: (Free Action, 1/Battle)
While you are declaring your magical attributes for the round, you may activate this ability to raise any of your Magical Attributes by 2. This increase lasts until the end of the round. However, any Signature Attacks performed that round instead use your original attribute.

Signature Attacks:

A Professional Doesn't Miss <Sundering Blow>
Mayu commits to an attack completely, with shadows wrapping around her knives and extending the blades while briefly taking on physical presence. These shadowy extensions see to it that even if the enemy dodges it will be cut. <attacks can't be stopped - if it's a clean hit, they do an extra d6 points of damage, but even if they miss they do half the damage of a normal attack.>

Can't Hit The Shadows <Riposte> Mayu very briefly becomes as insubstantial as the shadows she controls usually are. Attacks that hit her while she's like this will still hurt - but not as much as they usually would, and it leaves the enemy in an excellent spot for her to hit them. <attacks are activated in response to an enemy's attack - they use the enemy's attack roll as the DC, and upon success halve the damage taken and deal 2 points of damage to the enemy. For every point you beat the DC by, up to 3, reduce damage taken by one and deal another point of damage to the enemy.>

Crisis: It's time. Haru has tested her quite a bit recently and deemed her skills sufficient. There's no more putting it off. It's time for Mayu...

...to go to school.

She's never been before in her life. And this is on top of helping Haru with his investigation, and killing youma, and most of the criminal organization is still getting more and more scared.

She has no clue what she's in for.

Relationships:

-Deguchi Haru (Mentor, Parental Figure) [3]:
Haru took Mayu in not long after meeting her and her making a Pact, and since then he's done his level best to raise her. He's provided food, clothes, and shelter for her, he's taught her necessary skills like reading and writing, he's helped her experiment with her magic as best he can, and once he learned of her goal to follow in his footsteps he's been going through the process of teaching her everything he knows and introducing her to everyone he knows. He's her "old man", and she's his "little brat". No more and no less.

Shimizu Miu (Friend) [3]: Miu is the daughter of one of the criminal organization's leaders, and was one of the first people Haru introduced Mayu to. After a bumpy start the two got along swimmingly. She's going to school with Mayu, so at least that's something. Miu is aware of what her father does for a living, but she is not yet aware of the supernatural side of affairs. Mayu would rather it stayed that way as long as possible.

Information About Odaka: Odaka's low crime rate is only partially because of crime being stamped out. When the writing on the wall became clear, only some of the various families that had been long embedded in the city's criminal underbelly chose to straighten up and stay within the lines. The rest chose to simply adapt to survive in the new environment.

Street crime, muggings and robberies, were largely abandoned as a bad job. Instead white collar crime quietly became the new rage, flying under the public's radar where it could and losing itself through dozens of false directions and dead ends where it couldn't. Further, several new smalltime businesses began opening up around the city. Little more than antique stores or Mom-and-Pop cafés or so forth on the surface, someone who knows what they're looking for can use these stores to purchase things that the Ueki Corporation, which now controls the majority of businesses and sales in Odaka, does not sell; or things that the Corporation does sell, but for a cheaper, tax-free price.

Since the old method of solving disagreements between the organization's families - turf wars - aren't viable anymore since they'd bring a stack of metaphorical bricks tumbling down on all their heads, the families turn to their Enforcers. Members of the organization outside any one family's pull, their job is to intervene in and judge any disagreements between different families to keep things equitable, amenable, and quiet. One of the more respected Enforcers from recent memory is Deguchi Haru, who is still well-respected despite being nominally retired by this point.
