The biggest one that you'll have to work on is Streetwise (Cool). It's a measure of how well-versed you are in street gossip, putting rumors together to create an idea of what is actually happening under the night or behind closed doors. It basically allows you to figure out what's the hot stuff going on...and if you could muscle in on it to profit as a Fixer.

However, there are a myriad of other skills that one could also consider useful as a Fixer. Persuasion and Intimidate (both Empathy) are useful, helping to keep conversations focused on a topic, either for brokering deals between gangs with history or getting information from your contacts. I could see Body Language (Empathy) as well being useful to see if you could infer attempted lies or deception from shadier contacts. If you don't want to talk to others, Investigate (Intelligence) can help you puzzle things together from various clues littering around on the scene. These are useful for getting the full picture together to know you're not being a gonk and setting up a gig to raid Arasaka for the digital ghost of a rockerboy terrorist without an idea on how to unload it.

Speaking of gigs, you'll have to consider how you want to set those up and even more skills can come into handy. Surprisingly, if you want to be like Mika from Lycoris Recoil, training up new operatives, you should consider Teaching (Intelligence) to pass on at least your gun skills. He also happens to be pretty good at Disguise and Forgery (Tech) to make things vanish. Then of course, if you want to be there on the front to make sure the gig goes well, your various combat skills (Reflex and Body) would be a must.

You could likely figure out more ways for various skills to be useful, so don't think not having any of these is a deal-breaker. The only major thing is Streetwise (Cool), how much you can earn as your part of the Fixer cut is going to be dependent on that skill's rank.
I see, that is something we will have to work on since while we are solid for Empathy and Intelligence we aren't that good when it comes to Cool.

On that note what would Evidence Removal mainly entail?

Could we do Evidence Removal with a mix of Street Fixer? It could be compatible.
You can expand your business eventually if you want, just pick one for now to properly develop first.
On that note what would Evidence Removal mainly entail?
Well, the big skill that you'll be using once you get hired for a job will no doubt be Repair (Tech), which is what you'll use to cover bullet holes, replace windows, general scene cleanup stuff. It's the one that determines how much you'll be paid.

But it isn't the only one relevant to the job. Electronics (Tech) will be needed if the shootout happened to be too much and you need to entirely replace stuff like shot-up screens that are beyond regular repair. Forgery (Tech) can help you create elaborate fakes of irreplaceable stuff like shattered vases or broken statues. You can also push it further through having Electronic Security (Tech) to allow you to break into camera systems and alter captured footage of the fight, while Composition (Intelligence) can help you pad your services to the client by coming up with a good cover-up about it all. And should some straggles show up or everybody isn't quite as dead as you were told, you'll definitely need all your combat skills (Reflex and Body).

It's notably more focused on a specific skill set, but that's because it is a specific job unlike being a Fixer.

Any communication on less secure channels will naturally be coached in talk about "flower arrangements" and the like to mitigate potential information leaks. A part of you wanted to just fall back on what you knew best, which was how to make things...clean. Tidy. Erased. Beautiful.

Just like Kyoto, under the tender care of Lycoris.

But you're not in Kyoto anymore. You were in Kagoshima, and you weren't a part of Lycoris anymore. Even if you could never leave that behind, you had a new dream, one spurred by having finally connected to others after so long.

You wanted to create a safe haven for Mitsu, Arisu, Momiji, and whoever else walked through your doors. One that could tend to the scars of both body and mind, through sustenance and reflection. A place filled with both the aromatic scent of coffee and flowers mingling together, the respite from a dark world outside.

You wanted to open up a flower cafe.

You slowly nodded and penned in your business ambition on the business license form. You took your time making sure you accurately described what sort of services you'd be offering to the general populace, making mention of your extensive experience in botany. In contrast, you had little cooking skill, but you were sure you could remedy that somehow. Perhaps you could an employee who had such skill, or you could teach yourself how to do so through study. Maybe you'd even install a skill chip into yourself to give you the necessary muscle memory, at the cost of arresting development in that area.

It was certainly an area that you could spend some time improving. You paused midway through the form and your eyes narrowed in thought, pen tapping the piece of paper contemplatively. Come to think of it...was that really all you wanted your place to be? Just satisfied with serving people as they came and went?

That was an idea struck. You still wanted to run a flower cafe, but at the same time, the inspiration for this entire endeavor came from your fellow Lycoris graduates. This specifically was envisioned as a place for them when they left Kyoto and tried to figure a place for themselves in the wider world with an awkward mishmash of social skills...and honed assassination ability.

It was taking shape now. You could specifically offer them a place to stay, to get their bearings and find a place in the world. The shophouse living area certainly was large enough for a family to live in, let alone whatever other properties you could wind up acquiring over time. This meant that you had access to and communication with former government-trained hitmen that could do with being connected to a job or two through your local contacts. On the streets, there was a name for that role.

A Fixer!

Your mind flashed to Pauper running her operation nearby and you snorted, earning a few disgruntled looks from a few bystanders. The Secondborn Fixer was...notably biased to her gang, and just mainly dealt in information from what you could tell. It showed with how few guns she had scrounged up in panic, clearly lacking a dedicated or reliable contact to purchase firearms from. Meanwhile, you already had one in the form of Shinohara Securities, didn't you?

Of course, this would be all done under the table, so to speak. Your flower cafe would be a pretty public front, the beautiful petals hiding the underground thorns beneath its surface. You nodded and continued to fill out the form, making sure that you only presented the flower cafe aspect to put up a reputable front. You somehow doubted that city officials would look favorably on you admitting to want to employ assassins, even if you framed it as an employment agency affair.

Then came the final field, the one that had you deep in thought. You ran through a few ideas before settling on one, putting the finishing touch to your future business: the name.

Kagoshima Fragrance

It was absolutely fitting in referring to both you the cafe and florist aspects of your business. The name was a bit of a handful, but there was a handy little shorthand you could use. Kaori. That sounded nice and rolled off the tongue easily enough.

You checked everything one last time, then nearly dropped all the papers when your number was called by the system. You hurried up to a manned booth this time with a stoic-looking city bureaucrat. "Identification and papers please," He drawled and you quickly handed them over. He skimmed through them quickly before looking at you with an expecting look.

You resisted the urge to roll your eyes and slid the credchip for the expedited process over. He casually placed your application over the payment and nodded, returning your identification. "Your application is now in the expedited queue. Expect a response via your email in a week's time."

-1000 eb (26,600 -1000 = 25,600 eb)

You bowed your head respectfully and quickly departed to return home. You had a lot of work ahead of you, though perhaps you'd take it relaxed for an evening or two. There was still some time left in the week after all.

(Van Repairs: 24 +14 (Tech) +12 (Rank 6 Repair) = 50)

You grunted when you pulled the last of the bullets out of the van's engine block and tossed it into a bucket, where it clinked along with the rest. You were sure that was all of them and dusted your hands with a shake of the head. That took far longer than you'd thought, and you hadn't even begun to actually get to work trying figure out what parts of the engine needed replacing or fixing.

At least now you were sure that if you tried to start up the engine, it wouldn't have any rogue brass inside choking up the systems. You supposed that was a victory, albeit a rather minuscule one. You picked up the bucket of spent rounds and took them over to the shophouse dumpster, emptying them all out for the city's trash services to handle.

Then your opticware alerted you to an incoming call. You answesred and there was a beaming Mitsu, grinning at you. "Hail, partner! How goes your repair endeavor?"

"Slowly. Made less progress with the van than I'd like to admit," You sighed and shook your head. "Guess I should count myself lucky that this thing wasn't modded, or else it definitely would be out of my field of expertise."

"Oh, that is something I do desire to look into the future! Vehicle modifications! I yearn for some!" Mitsu's face lit up for a moment, then she sobered up with another question. "More pressingly, how goes the improvement of our living space? Is it time yet to move in new furnishings?"

(Shophouse Repair: 86 +14 (Tech) +12 (Rank 6 Repair) = 112)

"Absolutely," You instantly responded with a smile. "The upstairs living area has been all repaired and cleaned. The walls are patched, the floors scrubbed, and windows all replaced. It's properly habitable now."

"Excellent!" Mitsu cheered happily. "That is a significant improvement! Now we no longer have to deal with holes in the walls between us!"

"I've even been able to remove that stair death traps to restore a balcony area for us to admire the view from above." You scratched your cheek with a chuckle. "I think I spent a little too much time on that, and that cut into the van repairs. Whoops."

"Be it far from me to judge your priority, but we can always seek alternative transportation. We cannot seek alternative housing." Your roommate and partner paused, then your side of the connection began to receive pictures. "What I do wish your judgment on is how we shall live!"

"Oh?" You blinked and began to go through the pictures with a hum. "You've found some different furniture sets. Hm, these actually all look rather intriguing."

"Thus my conflict!" Mitsu moaned. "They all look enticing! I wish for your opinion in picking one!"

"Does it really matter? Plus, isn't it your right as the one who's actually buying it for us?"

"I would be doomed for hours on end fretting about the options! Please, aid me in lending your choice."

You rolled your eyes with a small laugh, then picked what furnishings worked best for your personal lifestyle.

[ ] [Furnishing] Traditional Japanese. An ingrained style of Japanese history that will never go away, no matter how synthetic the materials get. Tatami mats and sliding doors with low tables and seat cushions, with plenty of futons for sleeping anywhere. Maybe even a kotatsu for chilly evenings, set in front of a large television set. That sounded quite homey.

[ ] [Furnishing] Modern Household. A style that purposefully invoked a mixed blend of Eastern and Western lifestyles. Futons were mixed in with wooden desks and bookshelves, while there were both couches and seat cushions to hang out together. A strong emphasis on freedom of choice, to indulge in the best of both worlds as need be.

[ ] [Furnishing] Headquarters Dormitory. A familiar style that, despite how much any Lycoris would claim they were sick of, was immediately nostalgic. Optional shared rooms with loft beds and desks, along with a central lounge room to relax and game in on sofas. They could even bring drinks up from downstairs, making it a familiar new home away from home.

[ ] [Furnishing] Rocker Lifestyle. A radical and arguably lazy style born from an improvised sort of culture. Forget beds, just have couches for one to crash on as need be. Organization? Just put things in order of what you used most often. It completely went against every single traditional notion of cleanliness and order in Japanese society, and that's why it was so popular among the more outcast youth.

[ ] [Furnishing] Night Network. A compact style from America that had everything connected together both physically and digitally. A simple utilitarian bed with shelf walls was only a few steps away from a small walk-in wardrobe and a few more steps to a desk sit and work in. There's a living area that consists of connected couches facing a central electronic entertainment system. It's massively popular in Night City.

[ ] [Furnishing] Neo Corporate. A clinical style that emphasized clean utilitarian design above everything else. Office chairs that could then be leaned back and transformed into small cots, so one never had to leave their desk if not necessary. The living space had a glass table with swivel chairs, being more akin to a meeting room if not for the screens setup above it all. A professional lifestyle that got things done.

- This vote is all about fluff and style, so don't fret about mechanical bonuses at all. It'll just help me setup how you want to describe your lifestyle and living space. I figured this could be interesting.

Four hour moratorium to decide a lifestyle.

Kaori. That is a good shortening. Really, I like Yuuki's entire train of thought here. It has a very inspirational feel.

As for the furnishing, I'm somewhere between modern and traditional. Although, if we do want to let more people stay, going with the balanced air of a modern household probably can't hurt. That way there's something for everyone to ease themself into without leaning too much into being a Lycoris shoot off.

I have also idly been wondering if there's anything we can have Pauper make good on their favour with now that our bussiness is on the paper. The cooking matter we're probably better off handling ourselves, unless we want to end up hiring someone from the Secondborn Ronins. On the less offical side of it, asking Pauper to teach us street wise so we can start becoming a Fixer ourself might be a bit awkward. Although, I guess for the real troll move we could ask to be introduced properly to that girl that brought us the futons. She seemed nice. Or angle towards it a bit more subtely by asking for something an actress could maybe help with. (Although, the fact it might be funny doesn't necessarily mean she should do it.)
