The room shakes again, more stone crashing down around your running form. M_______n told you to go, to get away as fast as possible but _______ advice weighs heavily in your mind. You can't run, you won't not again. Not if you're to live up to the name bestowed upon you. Leaping left you barely avoid a massive chunk of ceiling as it slams onto the ground. Others follow it, but you keep going avoiding the deadly chunks and simply ignoring the rest. Finally you crash thorough the collapsed archway, and make it outside.
A titanic figure, an angel battles in the sky above towering above even over M_____n's tower. A glowing sword is alight in its hands, creating dozens of lines in the sky every second striking towards a small blurry figure that seems to simply teleport between each attack.
For a moment you're stunned by the display of power, powerful shock waves echo from every miss pushing you further against the ground. Awe quickly gives way to fear, as you realize just how foolish your decision to run towards the danger was.
"I'll be ending this here then! D_____n! Seven Heavens!"
"No!"
You very core screams in terror as the yellow light is unleashed. Deletion, the end of everything is here.
There's a flash of bright light. Something warm wraps around your body. Then Crushing pain.
Everything goes black.

Decided to split the dream off to its own separate part. Small yes, but I figured it would be better to do this now in case I don't manage the finish the update proper tonight.

Huh so the Mystery mon is almost certainly a wizardmon derivative or other mage type. A tower of magic is also interesting.
There's at least two mons besides the archangel the mage who owns the tower and the fighter with D as the first letter in his name. ( the fact it's grey scale still suggests the angel might not be the standard model but could be wrong )
The protagonist seems to be some kind of aperantence, had a name ( likely given by the mentor) and judging by the end was important enough for someone to bite the bullet for him.
We don't know if this just a bog standard or one of the big 3 angels but either way this suggests that whatever is going on is rather high tier if a Mega angel is going full ham. Likely we're not going to be buddies with the light anytime soon.

"Ah..alright" you say, giving into the smaller digimons plea. "B-but not for too l-long."
"Yay!" The Moonmon squeals, her mouth turning up into a sweet happy smile. "Thanks oni-chan!"

With that the In-Training digimon hops down from your paw and makes her way over to the small box on the floor. She looks the object over for a few seconds, then after a couple seconds of thinking it over lowers her head-stalk and presses a button. Much to your surprise this somehow converts the screen from a dark black to a bright set of colors and moving images. You can't help flinching back at the sudden change, but after a few seconds of watching you relax again. Moonmon quickly comes bouncing back towards you before quickly settling herself into your fur for a second time.
W-hat is...What a-are....
The images and sounds from the box are strange things, showing foreign looking digimon and fantastical looking things called "cars" that can be sat inside and driven. Moonmon "oohs" and "aaaahs" at the various things that come onscreen, continuously bouncing up and down as she looks at all the new things. But eventually her age and constitution fail her, as Moonmon slowly gets more tired. The frantic movements she's making gradually slow until finally going still
Your eyes end up being glued to the screen for nearly half an hour as a story of some kind plays out. Then after it's finished, the screen just goes black once more causing you to blink in surprise. For a few moments you consider going up to hit the button again, but end up shaking your head at the thought.
Th-that would w-wake up Moonmon. A-and I n-need sleep.
With that in mind, you settle down and try to sleep.

"Gah!" You wake up from the dream with a piercing cry of fear. Quickly you jump to your fear, ready to flee away from the light as fast as you can....only to pause upon realizing that you're not in fact about to deleted by the terrifying digimon. No you're safe inside your hut, far away from anything dangerous.
O-oh.
The fear retreats and you can't help but let out a sigh of relief.
"J-just another d-dream" you say, slumping back down. While you'd had other strange dreams before, this had been the most vivid, and more importantly, the most scary one by far. It had almost been like you'd been there staring through someone else's eyes. Almost as if it had been you who'd been deleted. Once again your body shivers, as the memories of the dream resurface.
I-It's o-okay. Th-that w-wasn't me.
Light leaks in from the shelters opening, displaying the early mornings rising sun to the world. The fur on your body is heavy with sweat, and you wince upon realizing that it means you'll have to bathe in the nearby stream again. Well either that or live with a constant terrible smell, which wasn't exactly a pleasant thing.
Of course, just as everything starts looking to be absolutely fine that's where the trouble actually starts. You turn away from the mouth of the hut and start looking for Moonmon, from your experience she has a bad habit of fidgeting away from you in her sleep, so she rarely stayed with you all the way until morning. With a shrug you begin sweeping your gaze left, then right in an attempt to find her-only to freeze in place as an unfamiliar figure comes into view, resting just beside the 'teevee' on the right side of the hut.
The....thing is much bigger than the In-Training digimon you'd gone to sleep with the night before, with what almost looks like four sets of long ears, hands covered in dangerous (to your mind anyway) looking claws and a strange crescent mark around a growth on it's forehead. Naturally you slowly begin to back away from the mysterious digimon, not daring to move in case it decided to wake up and attack. It's only when most of your body it outside the hut's exit that you dare speak.
"Ww-wh-who a-are you?"
"Haaaaah.....Jus fie more mmnuts oni-chan" The groggy figure mumbles.
No. I-it can't be.
"M-moon-ma-mon?"
The nervousness in your body dies down upon as you realize that this isn't an unknown digimon at all.
"Mmmm," The digimon yawns, moving her arms to rub at her eyes. "No, it's aah. Mmm. Lunamon now" she stops in place as if shocked by something, then slowly looks down at the undersides of her hands. "I'm Lunamon? I'm Lunamon!" The rookie digimon pushes herself up all traces of tiredness forgotten, then excitedly begins to wave. "Yaaaaay! Oni-Chan I digivovled! I'm Lunamon! I'm Lunamon!"
The freshly evolved rookie then proceeds to rush forward and wrap her arms around your neck.
"I can snuggle better now Oni-Chan"
Fear rises up in your core as the other rookie hugs you. Memories of pressure around your body, of something squeezing with terrfying force of something CRUSHING YOU TO DEATH!
N-no No!
With a cry of fear you struggle free from the grasp, and scurry backwards out of her reach. You only manage to move a few feet before slamming into something and tumbling down. Several moments pass as you just feel relieved to be out of 'danger'. Then a strong hand grabs you by the scruff and pulls you back onto your feet.
Gramps looks down at you with an eyebrow raised.
"Now Verge." He starts, his voice a low understanding tone. "I know you get scared sometimes. By the ten do I, but you can't just run away from your room. There's not anything scary in there "
N-no it's not l-like tha-
"Gramps! I'm big now!" Lunamon jubilantly shouts, skipping out of your home and into view.
"Spirits above!" Elecmon exclaims, looking at the Lunamon. "You digivolved?"
"Yepyep!" she responds with a quick twirl. "I'm Lunamon now!...." The rookie pauses, moving her gaze to look over at you. "O-oni-chan doesn't like it." She slumps down as tears begin to swell in her eyes. "A-am I scary?"
Gramps lets out a snort of derision.
"No."
"R-really?" Lunamon, sniffles. "Am I p-pretty?"
"As beautiful as Ancient Mermaidmon herself"
W-who?
"Yay!" Lunamons smiles happily.
"Now run along" Gramps orders with a flick of his hand. "I have to talk with your...." His head rotates left to look over at you. "Oni. Chan." The old rookie smirks "About the festival"
"Okay! See you later Oni-Chan!" Lunamon says shortly before skipping away.
"Well....haven't see that one before" Gramps mumbles before letting out shrug. "Doesn't seem dangerous" The powerful rookie lets out a small chuckle, and then reaffirms his attention back on you. "I can't believe you were frightened of her. She's completely harmless." *Ahem* The scarred elecmon coughs. "Verge, I have an errand for you. We have an important celebration coming up at the end of the month, and even if it's only the second day of Darkness we need to start preparing for the months end when we celebrate the new year of light." Elecmon grins. "Aaaah. It's been a long time since I've had the digimon necessary to host it, but this year I can."
W-what is he t-talking about?
"Listen up!" Elecmon barks getting your full attention once again "There's a lot to do, but for today I have two things in mind. Gnaw and Flamemon will be in charge of getting wood for the festival. Fu is going to gather up some special plants for the festivities. Considering what almost happened last night, I'm give you a choice today. Which group do you want to be apart of?"

[] Go with Fu. She's small, and has tiny arms without claws. So not nearly as frightening as Gnaw. Plus finding plants could be....interesting you guess? Honestly the idea of trying something new does make you a bit nervous.

"Good..now" The rookie lets out a loud yawn before pivoting away. "I'm going to go take a nap. Stupid bird keeps trying to snatch my mon away again I swear by the ten I'll..." and with that he finally exits out of hearing range.

AN: Forgive me for having to split this smaller post up so much. Heh, as a funny note. Verge gets a bonus 1 to his speed stat from the Speed racer show. It's a one time thing mind you, just for fun. I have to apologize for the lateness of this update. Hopefully tomorrows should be faster.

Anyone else kind of cringing at the oni-chan thing tho? Like..I get it...little sister character that always wants to snuggle is a trope... but the sudden Japanese when the digimon are all speaking English reminds me too much of those bad naruto fics

That's a lot of great speculation man! You're certainly correct about a number of things. I can confirm that it was me of the big three, mainly because just him missing attacks from a high altitude was causing very powerful shockwaves. Ones powerful enough to destroy stone buildings.
As for the colouring, I'm laying that on the fact that it was a dream. Some details are abit foggy as it's not a perfect memory.
Something else to consider is that Verge did reincarnate, which has a time gap that varies considerably. I plan to do a lore entry on the subject at some point, but it can potentially take years to be reincarnated. Or just a few days in some lucky cases.
As for the light thing....well I'll just let that be a surprise. *Evil Laugh*
I very much intend to have the previousl life thing show up every now and again, as it's a big part of the character. One might even say for him it's more relevant than most.
This is true.
As for the Lunamon stuff...*shudders remembering bad naruto fan fiction* I do get it. But the character just learned the word in the night before and is very excited about it. If you're worried about it being a trend of her sayingng it a dozen times every time she's on screen, don't be. After she calms down on the phrase it'll be used a lot less.

Considering how she just evolved, will her mental ability jump too now or will it just have a rapid growth spurt?
As the entire digimon life cycle has always been rather interesting to me, but I could never really tell if them grew fast for their age or it was more once they get to higher states they gain a massive boost to allow for such growth.

Her mental ability has grown a bit yeah, (and will slowly continue to grow) but not too much because of this particular evolutionary jump. She'll still be quite childish for quite a while though, but that's because of her personality.
Other evolutions though, they can cause big jumps in personality. Especially rookie to champion.
Digimon do grow incredibly fast for their age yeah. Everything moves faster for them by quite a bit. Of course, gaining stats constantly to the point off evolving doesn't speed their physical growth up if not their mental growth.
So anyone else here wondering what kind of digimon we might have been in the past? As while our current reincarnation is rather skittish and afraid of most things, the times where it looks like we get bleed over with our dream and rage has me thinking we might have been a rather powerful virus type. Possibly even a ultra or mega back in the day, as you don't get one of THE angel type megas like Seraphimon on your ass unless you are up to some real crazy shit. Which might really play into our current lot, as the way we might have died if the dream was one of our last lives looks to be real doozy of a way to get offed. What with it seeming to burn everything of our very being at the time with cleansing light and with how we seem to still have a phobia of such a attack after even death is rather crazy. Since when you think about it, what is one of the best ways to get away from a all burning hateful light? By very, very deep underground. Which when you think of what we are now and how our first instinct seems to always be run or burrow and our entire powerset currently all about such paints a interesting picture.
Also, if I'm right here we might end up having more dreams like we did since popping the cork on past trauma like we might have isn't something that usually goes away easily. An with our already cowardly nature, I expect night terrors might become rather common for us soon. So we might want to think of a way to counter such issue if they do indeed crop up here in the following days.

Not to go out by himself. He's very much worried that the rookie drimogemon would freeze if confronted, or try to run away but fail since he isn't actually all that fast.
