[] Promise Lunamon that you'll protect her, it'll be difficult to say but....you don't want to let her down.
[] That figure...the only you'd just seen is here again. It has a hand lightly wrapped around your head, and is whispering something.
===
With a final deafening roar of triumph the large orange dinosaur thrusts his claw down, ripping through the grey chest of his insectoid opponent and spewing countless amounts of data into the air. You try and flinch away from the sight, but the firm hand wrapped around your body keeps you from looking elsewhere. The large wounded digimon struggles helplessly against the overwhelming opponent, but it's claws lack the strong to do more than minor damage towards the other mon standing over it. Horrified you watched as the dinosaur twists his arm, then starts slowly dragging his claw down.
"What a shame. I had such high hopes for him" The figure holding you muses, her sharp red eyes curved upwards in amusement.
You struggle in her hand, trying to escape, but the gloved finger prove impossible to move. Almost as if having felt your desperate struggle, the hand around you moves slowly lifting you up before her massive head. The digimon's other hand comes up to join the first, firmly cradling your tiny body with barely enough room for your horns to stick out between her fingers. Heavy footsteps start sounding in the background, the sharp clacks of metal hitting stone. Knowing what's coming you cry out and start struggling again.
"Oh? Are you frightened little one?" she laughs, "He certainly won't be pleased about that" You start struggling harder a that, desperate to get away, to leave before having to face those blue eyes yet again. "Hush now little one, it's over. You're safe" The digimon softly coos. "There's no need to be afraid right now" she continues, voice dropping to a whisper. "I'm sure you'll do great things one day" The steps quickly get louder and more frequent as he starts to get closer. "Hello My-"
===
You jerk awake in bed, looking around rapidly for the incoming digimon… only to pause as the familiar surroundings of your hut reassert themselves over your vision. The red fingers holding you are gone and you're decidedly not high above some sort of massive fight. He is not coming for you… whoever that actually is. Now that you're awake it proves impossible to remember what the scary thing coming after you actually was.
I-I'm okay. It was just… just another dream.
The fear in your chest dwindles as you sigh in relief, slowly fading away entirely as you sink back down on the bed beside Lunamon. Your eyelids begin to descend once again as you seek to fall into the arms of sleep once more, only to fly open a moment later as you realize just what waking up on this particular day means.
Th-the Goblimon. I'll have to f-fight them.
Heavy, creeping dread rises up in your core at that fact, and your breathing begins to speed up uncontrollably. Today you'll have to fight again, to head back towards the small mountain, where that rookie will try and delete you. Instinctively you wrap the nearby bits of cover around your head in an attempt to hide from reality and for a while it almost seems to work. The comforting darkness begins to lull your consciousness back towards dreamland as you push aside today's future worries in favour of sleeping.
It doesn't do you any good, as another digimon loudly barges into your hut and knocks you out of the near-sleep state.
"There's no time to sleep Verge!" Flamemon cries, knocking you out of your slothful state. "There's heroic deeds to accomplish!" Shakily, you pull the covers away to look at your grinning friend and try your best to move up off the mattress, but your shaking limbs betray you, leading you to stumble back down onto the bed. Your friend reaches down and grabs you by the scruff a moment later, painfully pulling you up and then towards the entrance before letting go. Fighting against the raging terror, you finally manage to properly stand up not exactly ready to follow him, but willing to do it nonetheless.
"
Flamemon" Lunamon greets the taller rookie with a lackluster wave. "
P-pwease keep him safe"
"No worries Lunamon!" Flamemon says striking a pose. "So long as I'm there he shall be perfectly safe!" He promises before turning his head to look back towards you. "Now Verge! We must be off! Gramps and the others are waiting!" With that Flamemon puts a hand on your fur, grasps it tightly then begins dragging you away. The two of you quickly make your egress from the hut and then head over towards the gate where the villages other rookies are waiting.
"Bout time you got here" Gramps grumbles from his spot in front of the others. "Hrm. Alright." *Cough* "We'll be starting off small!" Gramps announces as you take your place at the back of the group. "I found a small group of Goblimon, only a dozen of them camped out in the forest just before the mountain. They're first. I want to see how everyone here can fight before we try larger groups" Gramps finishes before crossing his arms. "I'll be right there to help."
"Bleh, I can handle a few stupid Goblimon!" Gnaw growls, raising his claws up for emphasis. "I want a real challenge!" While Flamemon doesn't exactly voice his agreement, the taller rookie does give a nod. You just try and blend into the background, trying not to think about it.
"No!" Gramps barks sharpy, glaring at the Blackgabumon "Spirits above, not yet." Gnaw loudly harrumphs then looks away, seeming to be cowed for now. "Rgh. Sorcerymon will watch over the village while we're gone..." Gramps takes a deep breath. "...let's go. May we be blessed by the ten legendary warriors."
As he moves to open the gate, you can't help but anticipate the coming violence and start quivering with full force. Your claws dig into the earth and your limbs refuse to move as a black terror presses down on your body, almost like a physical force. You don't want to go, to risk deletion, to fight other digimon or see your friends get hurt. No matter how much you struggle to will your legs to move they simply refuse to budge; every attempt ends in complete failure. Frustration gives way to despair as you sink down in shame.
Then wrath unbidden surges form your core.
No! I. Made. An. Oath!
With a burst of power your limbs rip free from the earth, pushing you forward with the rest of the group. The fury burning in your core doesn't last long, but it manages to kickstart your movement as the group bursts out into a collective jog. You end up falling in line with Auger at the party's rear flank and stay there through the journey as Gramps leads everyone towards the Goblimon encampment. While you're still scared of what's to come, having Flamemon, Gramps and the others in front of you does end up helping somewhat.
When you finally the the 'camp' Gramps spoke of it proves to be less impressive than you'd feared. It consists of a single campfire in the middle of a clearing with a few rudimentary shelters scattered around the place hardly the luxurious tents Sorcerymon is selling. However, the Goblimon standing nearby are a bit more scary. None of them are the dark green of that one rookie who threatened to delete you, but rather the same shade as the few who tried to attack you and Fu in the clearing.
Six of them are grouped around the fire, having been sitting at it before your group arrived. Now they're standing up, clubs held at the ready. Three more line the left side near one of the shelters. Two slightly beat up Goblimon break off from their scuffle at the right side of the camp, turning to glare at Gramps who's at the front of your group.
Finally, the last of them is at the very back of the camp, slowly edging away.
You swallow nervously then:
=== Choose One of each:
[] Plan Of Attack:
-[] Just stay still, try to let the others fight it out and thus keep away from combat entirely
-[] Close your eyes and charge towards the front line.
-[] Wait for the initial clash, then try to fight any Goblimon who are without allies.
-[] Stay near Flamemon, he'll protect you.
[] How To Handle Fighting:
-[] Stay on your hind legs, try to use swipes and the Mach Jab technique Flamemon taught you.
-[] Stay on all fours and attempt to use your drill and piercing claws. Maybe you can end any actual fights quickly?
-[] The Anger....it scares you but. Well it's the only thing that's worked to make you fight so far. Try to make it happen again.
