The counter-move here is teleporting magic doggos. I dont think you can run straight through there without taking a hit, no?
That just means you're not running hard enough. Also, magic juice for when you do get hit. :V

TBH, though, it's also worthwhile to fight the mobs. Admittedly, an important skill is knowing when to retreat back to the bonfire, specifically when you run low on estus.

Also, learning roll timing is vital.

BTW, I recommend not using shields in DS3 for anything besides parrying, at least at first. Playing aggressively whilst relying on the I-frames of the dodge eases the learning process, in my opinion.

meh i just found a good spot to hide from the ranged to kill the dogs then killed the range. i forget where it is exactly but there's a large bit of a raised stone square on the left side of the stairs as you go up. hide behind that and ranged cant touch you and lets you take care of the dogs with out getting snipped.

I recommend running past it and opening the shortcut.

It's not that hard once you learn the mob patterns. Also, try dodging. :V

Edit: okay, maybe my memories are coming from being a tad bit overleveled, but besides, Dark Souls has a very powerful move to offer in said situations: run! They're not mandatory enemies.
Dogs run as fast as I can, and can leap. Also, Stunlocking is a thing.

Pontificating Pontiff's ass beaten like a drum. In one go amazingly enough. Now I can farm Anor Londo and not get shrekt by unreliable ai with spinny blades of doom.

Sallad Van's beasts in the water resoivor suck asssss. On that note, I have an easy, if time consuming way to cheese one of them at the very least. Dragonslayer greatbow to the face, before scurrying back up the ladder like a rat, and walking outside. Rinse, repeat.

meh those two are easy. fight em one at a time. fight the one to the right first staying over on that side you shouldnt pull the other one. once that ones dead go after the next one. its all about watching your positioning.

Okay, so Lothric (Twin Princes.) is piss easy when you have another guy to soak up the agro.

Have finally invested into vigor so I'm not stuck with the base 550 HP or so :V.

I will never forgive 3 for nerfing poise into the ground. Without it the only armors worth wearing are the really light ones. There's almost no benefit to heavy armor in 3.

And here we have the illustrious Lance McDonald showcasing the DS3 debug and dev mode...including the ability to control enemies and bosses.

DS3 arena mode when? :V

So... with the lockdown in fullswing, and nothing to do. i've decided to delve back into the wonderful world of dark souls!

I've made a new character in DS3 (Lovingly modeled after Corona chan of course.) and just beat Vordt.

if anyone wants to do a playthrough with me on PS4 in the coming days, we should talk.

maybe plan some pvp events and such too.

I'd join if I could go online but since I can't I'll stick to trying to do everything possible before Vicar Amelia (the new forbidden woods skip opened a lot of doors).

Recently in Dark Souls 3 there's been a spate of bans caused via hackers inserting +20 gestures and storm rulers into inventories with mods that risk banning you and family sharing around bans as the only options you have to deal with this. In response to this, Bandai Namco has removed the ability to family share Dark Souls 3, a move that does basically nothing to hackers but fucks over regular players. Great job.

In theory, it prevents hackers from doing the same thing when they get banned. But at this point I think DS3's well beyond its support point beyond the bare minimum "keep servers running", such as it is with these sorts of games.

But in practice inserting items doesn't get you banned, it bans the person who gets the items. This is actually worse than doing nothing. If they're only up for doing half assed things then they should have taken out the anti-cheat entirely.

So I just encountered an interesting theory.

It posits that the theme of cycles runs a bit deeper then normally thought. That is to say that just as the Painted World was made from within Lordran the world we inhabit is, was, and will be painted by someone from the within a prior painting. While their world ends in Fire ours likely ends in Dark (given how the first flame is conclusively dying at the end of DS3). The age of the everlasting dragons was likely the product of the Painter setting the world (as she seems to begin the painting even before she is supplied with Flame and the Dark Soul).

Unfortunately it doesn't really address how the cycle started and why this is more reasonable, why the Dark Soul acts in what seems to be a completely different manner (why is it that Humanity is an underpinning of the universe and has unique properties?), doesn't deal with any idea of what the abyss is, etc..

There's a lot of flaws in it but I find it very interesting even if I feel like there are gaping holes in it.

Of Course I'm also someone who would argue that within the three Dark Souls games an Age of Dark is yet to happen and that any character who says they know what it entails is lying sooooo I might not be the best judge.

I think DS3 is more about a coming Age of Abyss than anything we've seen before. So I'm not sure how well that fits in.

But Untended Graves + Dark Sun + the many Abyssal tainted enemies + Pilgrim Butterflies seem to imply the Abyss is going ham on existence and might be winning.
