[X] Retreat to the Kingdom. Scholars are known to be frail, and the Queen needs to be warned.
-[X] Inform the Queen that if we're not back within the next [24 Hour Equivalent], they should assume we've been captured, or, most likely, permanently dispersed.
[X] Stay Diceless. Units etc will have descriptive skills that they can put into play and the GM may occasionally roll a dice or two behind the scenes if he's unsure of the likely outcome, but otherwise the number gods influence is minimal.
Here's my (in-quest) reasoning for each choice, excepting the last one;
Choice #01: We should review what we 'know' on Light Manipulation, even if it's incorrect or incomplete, so as we can have something to act as a makeshift springboard.
Choice #02: We're the most powerful Being present, as far as we're aware, so even if this new opponent overpowers us, we can at least buy time for Cato to escape. And if it's some kind of environmental effect instead, our greater bulk and stability will still be useful in minimising the damage he takes while he's trying to escape.
Choice #03: We need to relay as much information about this realm as possible back to the Queen. Having Cato with us will improve the chances of finding out something we'd have otherwise missed.
Choice #04: The lass will most likely not be able to survive or handle this, and we need to inform Her Majesty of this situation.
Choice #04-A: We might be misjudging the situation due to a lack of context/info. This timeframe gives us a grace period to figure things out, without putting the Kingdom into a needless state of warfare over a misunderstanding.
Choice #05: I understand that Guessy doesn't want to include mechanics, but dammit, I want some! If only to help keep track of things like resources. So I chose this as a compromise. No dice means that Guessy can minimise the needed mathematics as much as he/she/they want/need, whilst I get some method of understanding our logistical needs/wants/capabilities/issues.
