Create Our Own 40k Sector

Location
United States
Hello there SVers, welcome to the Sanguis Vitam Sector. A small sector somewhere in the Galactic Northeast, with many horrifying things roaming the system. Tau, Orks, a few Craftworlds here and there, Necrons, and most horrifying of all...HERETICS! But the forces of the Emperor stand ready to hold the line, now where are they?

Well there's that little tangent done, but hello! I was reading a thread about creating your own factions, and I though that it was pretty good. Sadly, it's been abandoned for a bit so I decided to post another thread. Who knows, this could be either good or bad, let's find out!

Also obligatory link to 1d4chan for stuff: Template:40k-Faction-Creation-Tables - 1d4chan

I think I'll do an Imperial Guard Regiment first, let's see how that goes.

Classification - Navy Armsmen (10)
Regiment Demographic - Roll Three (Vat-Grown, Female, Spacers)
Nature Or Recruitment - Standard Conscription (6)
Homeworld - Forge World (60)
Core Units - Infantry (30)
Specialization - Close Combat (6)
Loyalty - Adherent (5)
Special Equipment - War Trophies (19)
Regiment Creed - Best Of The Best (67)
Allies - Adeptus Mechanicus (38)
Enemies - Chaos Astartes (67)

Alright, let's begin.

Imperial Regiment Iron Valkyries

The Iron Valkyries are one of the many Guard Regiments of the Sanguis Vitam Sector, they are often seen guarding ships hailing from the Forge World of Laevateinn. They often strike from the void, boarding the enemy ship before clearing it of any and all crew members. One time they struck at a vessel used by rebellious traitors, and soon cleared the ship within the hour. Their loadout often consists of short ranged combat weaponry, such as shotguns and Lascarbines. Other times, it devolves into close combat where they fight with blades and blunt weapons. Power Axes, Chain Swords, Combat Knives, and Power Mauls are par for the course. But if disarmed, the Iron Valkyries will use whatever they can to survive the ensuing scuffle. This has led to them priding themselves as masters of close combat, and taking trophies from fallen foes. Tau Fingers, Shards of Eldar Weapons, Ork Bone Fragments, and fangs of Kroot are often seen decorating their armor and quarters.

As for their homeworld, the Forge World of Laevateinn is a volcanic world where the massive factories draw power from the thermal energies. This has led to them increasing their output much higher than those of neighboring craftworlds, and the volcanic surface allows for easy pickings. But it has been the target of a Khornate Warband, which seeks to conquer the planet. However the Warband has met their match, for the Iron Valkyries will not let these heretics defile the icons of the Omnissiah.

Just a note, I should have an automated roller for Space Marine chapter creation finished and available tonight/tomorrow for anyone interested.

I'll make a SPESS MAROON chapter, then.

Corundum Falcons
Chapter Color: Glossy red and blue, as well as a gray color
Heraldry: A psychic hood and a force sword. (Not their original heraldry)

The Corundum Falcons are the first (not necessarily oldest, but first there) and greatest space marines chapter of the Sanguis Vitam Sector. Born of the Cursed Founding to correct the absence of any marines in the area, their unrecorded progenitor and the obscene frequency (10%) with which they develop a useful level of psychic powers or see existing powers strengthen after the catalepsean node is implanted would surely have seen them purged if not for their remarkably stable control over those powers, and their otherwise immaculate expression of geneseed traits. It was determined long ago that this trait was not rooted in their homeworld in any way, after a period of recruiting from a wide range of planets around the sector, as well as promising ones sent to them by the Adeptus Astra Telepathica, and still experienced the phenomena. Over the millenia, this phenomena has led to the chapter's librarium supplanting the traditional companies of the chapter, with their numbers exceeding the (rather depleted by casualties) standard marines by the early 38th millenium, and the elimination of all traditional companies but the Scout Company over time. This severe reorganization of the chapter was confirmed when Chief Librarian Astorios Solaire led the crusade which purged a heretical uprising by Slaaneshi cultists in the late 38th millenium. As the chapter master died during this conflict, Astorios was sworn in as the new chapter master, a role which he fulfilled until the middle of the 39th millenium.

Now that the common marine is forgotten, the force sword reigns on the battlefield as the main armament, and one's status is bound to their ability to sew confusion, fear, and death among the enemies of the emperor through effective use of their psykery. In the modern Corundum Falcons, the only way that new scouts who were neither originally psykers nor became psykers during geneseed implantation will ever cease to be considered scouts is to gain the tuition and qualification of a tech marine, apothecary, or chaplain. It is an open secret that though they seek to be heroic to those outside of the chapter, the leadership has little sympathy for those Battle Brothers who do not possess psychic powers, and they are suspected of deliberately exposing non-Librarians with matured progenoid glands to greater risk in order to harvest their geneseed and fuel the creation of more psyker battle brothers. This incredible turnover of scouts and ever-expanding production of more is to blame for much of the chapter's excessive size, though in truth the chapter's librarians well exceed the traditional numbers of the ten companies they have replaced as well.

If it were anything less than a Hiveworld, their home of Savano would ache at the immense number of it's sons they take, even with their selection process by now being highly refined and efficient. However, a hiveworld always has more bodies to give, and so the Corundum Falcons can continue their psyker farming, building ever greater forces to combat the Khornate warbands of Sanguis Vitam. The safety of their beloved mortals depends on it. (Serious cognitive dissonance there)

(The Blood Ravens suspect some unwritten connection due to the (far more extreme, but still similar) tendency for recruits to develop psykery that the Corundum Falcons exhibit and their founding before the recorded history of the Ravens. In truth, they are correct, but not so much as they might think - The core of the Corundum Falcon geneseed is seveeeeerely misplaced and mislabeled Grey Knight geneseed, spliced with geneseed connected to the Blood Ravens. The mixing of geneseed directly based on the Emperor and Geneseed probably derived from Magnus the Red led to an extreme affinity for and stability in the use of psychic powers.)

It's kinda dumb, really dumb, in fact, but it's what I thought of upon getting these rolls. If they had fucking ordinary marines, I would have been content to write them as people who had a cool Librarian once, and had a more believable amount of psykers. Their traditional weapon would NOT be the force sword in that case.

Admittedly, I rolled up another chapter beforehand, but I couldn't think of how to write those results into an actual coherent chapter.

So.
This sector's already looking fucking weird.
We've got clone women for Imperial Guards and a chapter of Space Marines almost as Psyker Supremacist as they are mortal loving and heroic.

Rolled up a Imperial Knight House; what's in this Sector's water?o_O

Vow Nature: 4 Counter
First Contact with the Imperium: 24 Great Crusade
Sovereign: 3 Imperium of Man
Succession Laws: 6, 1, 9 (Unique, Primogeniture, Cognatic)
Amount of Ceremony: 6 Reasonable
House Demeanor : 9 Brothers in Battle
House Flaw: 3 Pride in the Colors (Gotta to try and make this work with an Imperial Sovereign and Great Crusade?)
Figure of Legend: 50 A Baron
Deed of Legend: 52 Returning an entire Sector back to the Imperium's light
Domain Size: 5 Sizable
Homeworld: 39 Feral
Homeworld Terrain: 89 Airless...o_O right.
Homeworld Rule: 7 Stewardship
House Hierarchy: 2 Strict
Preferred Doctrine: 9 Shock and Awe
Preferred Knight Type: 93 Knight Questoris Type
Restrictions: 46 Knight Lancer
House Beliefs: 83 Totem Creature
House Combat Strength: 3 Understrength
House Allies: 79 Imperial Navy
House Enemy: 14 Orks

House Chimerus of the feral world Chimera Prime, an airless hell of a deathworld utterly hostile to humanity and infested with Orks their Knights would become critical to the defense of Chimera Prime. Despite of perhaps in spite of which they only rule Indirectly through a Stewardship thus freeing them to the harsh task of defense. This defense reflecting in the creature they respect and honor; the Chimeric Ray. A large creature capable of living with the Airless domain of Chimera Prime, it is massive, graceful and deadly. Eventually making contact with the Imperium of Man during the height of the Great Crusade they swore fealty to this same civilization. Over the following millennia their domain world eventually grow to the size of a sub-sector while Chimera Prime would remain their bastion and training grounds. During this same period one of their own; a youthful Baron would further prove this Houses loyalty and skill in the crushing of a rebellion in a neighboring Sector returning it to the Imperium.

Nonetheless House Chimerus is rather unusual in many respects. Despite their long loyalty to the Imperium dating back to the Great Crusade, this house takes a disturbing amount of Pride in its Colors preferring it and the symbol of its Totem Creature; the Chimeric Ray to the Aquilla and Gold of the Imperium. While the Amount of Ceremony that they adhere to is within what is considered reasonable, they follow a strict hierarchy both on and off of the battlefield. Both of these being easily attributed to the circumstances of their homeworld; were discipline and pragmaticism were required for survival and defense. Their Succession laws likewise reflect this, being even further unique compared to other Knight Houses; allowing for either gender to inherent equally with the eldest inherenting first, yet their method of succession laws remains... unusual in the it does not follow any of the more common means that are the norm. In general and towards others the members of House Chimerus show great deal of loyalty and will fight to their last breath alongside their fellow defenders of the Imperium.

Oddly close allies of the Imperial Navy in their long war against all Orks, they would effectively become a Counter-force; counter-attacking and driving back the threats of the Sanguis Vitam Sector wherever they appear. Utilizing a Shock and Awe oriented combat doctrine alongside their large numbers of the mighty Knight Questoris, they have proven to the a devastating force on the side of the Imperium, yet constant warfare has left the understrength but with most of their Questoris ranks being intact.

When this Sector musters its forces, it would look bizarre; CQC specd Guard, Absurd numbers of Psykic Marines and a small force of almost entirely rare Knight-Titans.

One really, truly cannot apply the combat doctrines that would work against any other sector of Imperial loyalists here.
If you're used to the Imperial Guard sitting back and shooting, you're in for a surprise because these gals charge in Catachan style but with better weapons.
If you're used to Space Marines shooting at you with Bolters and heavy plasma as they jumpjet into or away from battle? Sorry, but they actually warp around slicing you to pieces with force swords, unleashing warpfire and lightning, and throwing you around with telekinesis, to utterly disorient and terrorize your forces.
Didn't expect to fight quite so many mechs today? You run into the lords and ladies of a planet that doesn't even have any fucking air yet still maintains an ecosystem.

Not just any Knight Titans either, because Deathworld Knights aren't already weird enough; they've got a high proportion of Knights Questoris amongst their ranks. Essentially the biggest and most powerful Knights which in the Imperium are considered incredibly rare on their own. While also lacking in some of the more basic variants.

Between the lack of adherence to the Codex Astartes, normal Guard/Naval doctrine(Void Guardsmen replacing standard Naval Armsmen) and Deathworld Knights who are loyal to the Emperor but are also technically heretics for not worshipping him or the Omnissiah directly. Would the local Inquisition/Sisters of Battle be the relative straitman of the group?

Can a sector only have one of each of those? 'Cause I think rolling on their generator gives a pretty high chance of weirdos.
10 - Order of the Sacred Rose
2 - Strategic Prognostication
10 - Bad Ecclesiarch Relations
6 - See, but don't be seen
55 - (Formerly) Living Saint
86 - Lives still, and may one day return to them in glory
58 - Shrine World
10 - Jungle
9 - Major Influence
7 - Slight Variation
9 - Shock and Awe
2 - Personal Charm
2 - Honor to the Heroine
10 - Ranks completely full
45 - Adeptus Astartes chapter
19 - The Orks
The sane way to look at this (Possible, but not currently real) in my mind order is that maybe, just maybe, they're friends with some spess muhreen chapter outside of the sector, and their heresy is something relatively normal. Surely, then, their slight variation would be something mostly innocuous. Surely, their saint is an honorable and righteous soul, that they should bear her mark and follow her path and achieve such success while awaiting her return. This is the far more reasonable interpretation.

The dumb way of looking at it is that they're friends with the Corundum Falcons, their heresy is that they don't consider psykers to be witches/believe that faithful psykers are closer to the emperor than ordinary men and women, their living saint herself is a fucking psyker from the days before they developed their odd beliefs (they diverged because of her example, once she stopped hiding it), and their organizational variation is that they stole the concept of librarians from the spess muhreens and integrated it into their ranks. Their living saint is currently awaiting a trial to determine if her being a 'witch' is enough to devalue her status as a wings-and-holy-light Living Saint and see her executed for heresy.

They [might be] the order of the Shining Temple

I rolled this mostly to show that it's easy to willfully interpret the results the generators give as weird.

The funny(ironic) aspect about the generator is that you could have a loyal SoB Order... whose enemy is the Ecclesiachy, which makes no sense. But hey at least their tactics mesh well with the Knight House I rolled; both focus on Sock and Awe.

Not going to make a faction for this place yourself?

Too late at night for me to want to do any lore stuff and I'd been spamming the rolls on it to check for bugs which left me a bit blah.

Why was the Chapter founded?
Strategic Prognostication-"Our tarot cards say that there's going to be a threat here, maybe. Found a Chapter!"

When was the Chapter founded?
36th Millennium (Cursed Founding, this Chapter be fucked)

Who was the Chapter's Progenitor?
Ultramarines

This Chapter has no new gene seed deficiencies other than those of its parent chapter

Legendary in the history of the chapter is a Battle-Brother seconded from a previous generation Successor or the First Founding Chapter that provided the new Chapter's gene-seed. They were Master of the Forge
The bane of Orks, he slew so many that is name is known to the vile greenskins even to this day.

Chapter Home World
Hive World: predominantly of desert terrain
This world is directly ruled by the Space Marine Chapter

Chapter Organization
Codex Divergent Organization

Combat Doctrine
Shock and Awe

The Chapter has the following special equipment: Preferred Fighting Style: The Chapter has a specific way in which it prefers to go about killing the enemy in the name of the God-Emperor of Mankind. Examples: Bolt Pistol and Chainsword, dual Power Swords, special Bolter pattern or ammunition

Chapter Beliefs
Purity of man: Screw everyone without the purest of genes and screw augmetics.

Chapter Status
Under Strength: The chapter is recovering from a defeat or accident that occurred decades ago or recently suffered heavy losses. It is at a minimum of half strength and should return to nominal strength within a decade.

Chapter Friends
Imperial Guard raised from a specific world

Chapter Enemies
Tyranids

Raised in the disastrous Cursed Founding, the Celestial Axes have found themselves shunned by most of their Space Marine brethren, including the Nemesis chapter of Ultramarines who originally provided their training cadre. Though they have remained loyal to the Imperium, the numerous chapters from this founding which descended into mutation or Chaos have left them under a veil of suspicion. That they diverge somewhat from the Codex Astartes has not helped matters with their Ultramarine cousins. The recovery of the Centurion armor STC was greeted with exceptional acceptance by the Celestial Axes, who have attached a Centurion squad to every company on an organic basis, with rumors amongst observers that they appear to prefer it to Tactical Dreadnought armor and may even be issuing it widely amongst the First Company.

Influenced by the Master of the Forge Quintus Hostilius, originally a senior techmarine from the Nemesis Chapter, the Celestial Axes have adopted the axe, in chain and power form, as their preferred close combat weapon, giving rise to their own name. A master of its use, Quintus Hostilius was frequently seen in axe duels against Blood Axe orks in the formative years of the chapter, holding back the tide of Waaaagh! Gutrunt, always emerging victorious. During this time, lasting bonds were formed with the Praetorian Guard, and the Chapter has been known to call upon their service on multiple occasions, as well as being more readily inclined to show up to their astropathic calls for assistance.

Perhaps no campaign more exemplifies the Shock and Awe tactics that the chapter is known for than the Cleansing of Frixion Prime, which the chapter subsequently has claimed as its homeworld. Heavily infested by genestealer cults, the hiveworld's defenses were on the brink of complete collapse and the Imperial Navy forces in-system were struggling to enforce the planetary quarantine as more and more refugee ships attempted to flee the doomed world. Indeed, it was only the arrival of the Celestial Axes that stayed the Inquisition's hand from ordering Exterminatus upon the world.

For a week straight, the ships of the Celestial Axes bombarded the hives most heavily infested by the alien taint, condemning mutant and innocent alike to the cleansing fires. As the bombardment lifted, Thunderhawks, drop pods, and other landing craft brought the Marines into the hives, where the true scouring began. The Inquisition had not been hasty in preparing for Exterminatus, for the taint had been festering long upon Frixion Prime. Even with the rather ruthless application of firepower to any spots of resistance, and with substantial assistance from off world Adeptus Arbites to process and scan those who passed for human, it took the Celestial Axes, gathered together in chapter strength, an entire Terran standard year to complete the planetary purge. On multiple occasions, orbital bombardments were called in "danger close" or even on the coordinates of squads who had found fierce concentrations of xenos and mutant resistance.

At the end of the year however, despite 36% losses, the Cleansing came to a close. Multiple hives had been entirely destroyed, the planetary population was scarcely one quarter of what the previous centennial census had calculated, but the Tyranid threat had been eliminated as had, unusually for any hive world, all of the mutants. At the end of the campaign, pointing out that the world and all it's production had been written off anyhow, the Celestial Axes claimed it for their own, raising their fortress monastery Tiszta Emberiség over the ruins of the hive which had resisted longest. There was, of course, some grumbling by members of the Administratum over this action, but the Inquisition soon put an end to it, with surprisingly little bloodshed by that organization's standards.

Though the Chapter is still rebuilding its losses, and Frixion Prime rebuilding under its stern observation and rule, Strike Cruisers and Rapid Strike Vessels of the Chapter are quick to be seen anywhere in the Sanguis Vitam sector whenever the taint of genestealers is suspected.

So the Sector now has two divergent cursed founding chapters based out of hives, one of whom is Psyker heavily while the latter hates mutation... that would make for interesting interactions.

There is an unwritten pact by each Chapters librarians that the Emperor's Tarot is always to be interpreted as "Stay away from each other"
Clearly Sanguis Vitam is a sector where the Imperium's not-quite-purgeable black sheep and weirdos are sent to hopefully die.

Well then, let's see about getting some more Adepta Sororitas in here. (Also loving the creativity!)

Homeworld: Red Desert Shrine World Of Shear
Emblem: The Blood Stained Blade Of Saint Nuri
The Covenant of the Bloody Blade is a dedicated Order serving the loyalists of the Imperium, having protected the Shrine World of Shear for centuries from the hands of the unclean. During their early years, a Khornate Warband had descended upon the planet. Since they were a recently founded Order, they suffered heavy losses until Saint Nuri took command of the remaining forces. After slaying many of the heretical bastards, they finally found the Daemon Prince in command. With her sisters dying around her, Nuri fought the Daemon Prince of Khorne until she ended his material form with a felling blow. After this she had disappeared, but her sword was left behind in her place. The blade itself was proved to be unremarkable until it was taken up again to fight Gene Stealer cults that had taken root, and its unusual features had shown. The Blade dripped blood whenever it was taken into battle, and could rend any armor into nothing more than scrap metal.

Shear: The Shrine World of Shear has an unusual feature, its deserts are often rust colored like the surface of Mars. As for it's people, they live in large canyons and mountain homes while the Sisters take care of the temples scattered around. As for the environment, it is home to many creatures that only come out at night. Such as the Sand Stalker, which drags people underneath the sands and devours them over a course of days.

As for their relationship with the Adeptus Arbites, it is because they fought alongside each other both times the planet was in danger. First was the Chaos Warband, and the next was when Gene Stealer Cults attempted to leave the planet defenseless against the Hive Fleet.

Special Weapons - The Covenant Of the Bloody Blade fight at close quarters, and their equipment reflects that. They often charge into battle with their Bolters locked and blades free, but the others prefer a more...Brutal approach. Years ago, they discovered an STC known as the Lanius Bayonet, which was a chain blade with a powered field. These Lanius Bayonets are often attached to Bolters, meaning that Sisters will saw through their opponent more often than shoot them.

Well, what do you think?

Legendary in the history of the chapter is a Master of the Fleet
A stalwart enemy of the servants of Chaos, he even slew a Daemon Prince.

The Chapter has the following special equipment: Modified Jump-Pack: Primarily seen in Chapters that favor the Assault Combat Doctrine, Battle-Brothers from this Chapter modify their Jump-Packs (with a Tech-Marine's help of course) to provide a more glorious sight to their allies and a more terrifying one to their enemies. Examples: Jump-Pack's created in different shapes such as angel wings.

Chapter Beliefs
The Emperor Above All: This Chapter holds the Emperor as the ultimate object of its devotions

Chapter Status
Nominal: The Chapter can field ten full companies. There may be some empty places in squads or specialized assignments, but the chapter is regarded as fully battle ready.

Celestial Eagles
Chapter Color: Deep green and Golden trimmings
Chapter Symbol: A Golden Eagle on green background.

The Celestial Eagles where first created to bring order protect a vulnerable sector of the Imperium, and have during the centuries been the saviors of the entire sector more than once.
One of their own fleet masters bested the Daemon Prince, Admiral Bloodbeard stopping a wave of chaos that would have destroyed the sector.
Other than their eldest foe the Orks that repeatedly rams into their sector, the Eagles hold a millenia long grudge against the Corundum Falcons.
In the ending years of the 35 millenium, the Celestial Eagles where almost done rebuilding after a especially devastating century, when they received news that a new chapter had settled in the sector.
While at first this news was welcome, after all more Astartes would only make the sector safer, what they soon heard was an insult to much to bare. These damned Falcon's claimed that they where the first chapter to settle the sector.
Ignoring and even dismissing the Eagles claims the two have had a cold relationship ever since. Refusing to work together unless the most dire circumstances drives them to do so (none of the Eagles will ever speak of Gaster III), it's
rumored that they have come to blows.

More to come and rewrites to do tomorrow, now sleep awaits.

Well those SoB seem to be rather ordinary compared to every other Imperial faction in the sector so they're then the sane man of the group.

Rolls for Genestealer Cult...

Uh, well okay then I'm fairly sure that that's a crusade worthy offense. A cult it seems has subverted a bloody Shrine World totally. Imperial Blacksheep vs hypercompetent enemies.

I'm sure anyone in the sector who uses their bolters would love to get a supply of Lanius Bayonets, but I suppose they're being fabricated exclusively for the use of the Shearans or somesuch.

Examples: Jump-Pack's created in different shapes such as angel wings.

Chapter Friends

Chapter Enemies
Orks

Oh.... Oh dear, this can't be good.
Additional Chapter Enemy (Due to certain claims by this party)
Corundum Falcons! (@plotvitalnpc i hope this is ok by you, i personally blame the administratum)

It's cool. I find it funny.

Congratulations, you're both the most relatively normal factions in this emperor-blighted sector.
You're not badass ladies cloned in space who charge into melee with high tech weapons against vastly superior enemies, or an army of friendly psyker supremacist loyalist marines, or a clan that uses the biggest possible mechs as their main weapon, a hypothetical order of a traditionally anti-psyker organization which venerates psykers, a chapter of Ultramarines altered during the cursed founding for some reason, OR a genestealer cult.

So the Sector now has two divergent cursed founding chapters based out of hives, one of whom is Psyker heavily while the latter hates mutation... that would make for interesting interactions.

Make that three, and there is already a bit of a beef between two of them (or one sided enmity).

I'm sure anyone in the sector who uses their bolters would love to get a supply of Lanius Bayonets, but I suppose they're being fabricated exclusively for the use of the Shearans or somesuch.
*smug Corundum Falcons who don't even own bolters*

.......... If the Eagles didn't hate you Falcon guts they would pity you. In their eyes close combat is a inferior mode of combat and should only be considered a last resort (what is the point of jump-packs if not to keep the enemy in sight and you out of reach).

I can just imagine the conversation playing out between a Bloody Blade Sister and a Celestial Eagles Marine, though I can't put it to words.

Several ways i imagine, but there would always be an air of pity or disdain from the eagles (you are puny mortals and like close combat, your faith in the Emperor makes up for these flaws though ;))

Edit: Their disdain for close quarters combat might also explain their loathing of Orks, their ranged competence is "questionable" to say the least.

Hey, the Falcons aren't a close combat chapter, their combat doctrine is psy-terrorism (Ironic for a chapter whose attitude is that they must be heroic and good figures). Sure, their weapon of choice is the force sword, but they make most of their attacks with psyker powers, and when they DO launch melee attacks, it's in the pattern of 'psyport in, cut, psyport out'.

One sincerely hopes they have a countermeasure to meeting the Tyrannids (maybe some bastardized equivalent to the psy disciplines of the Grey Knights that get stronger with more of them - using their numbers and brotherhood to create a field that disperses the Shadow on the Warp) even though their main foes are khornates, or else their only option is to abandon any position assailed by an immense force of tyranids.

By the way, do you mean suboptimal?

Something like that, i noticed and swapped it for inferior. Gives them a bit more of a......... how do you say "dickish air to them" without being quite that crude?
As for the close combat thing, it's less about you fighting more in close combat and more about almost pitying you for not having Bolters (the most Blessed of all the weapons of mankind!) and then explaining why they would pity you (you are forced to rely more on melee and unstable warp powers).

I mean, I was partially joking about the lack of bolters (though they indeed don't have any of the traditional sort of marine other than scouts), but part of The Point with them is that the only way a chapter of near purely psyker composition could exist at over-staffed levels is that their powers are abnormally stable due to them being mostly Grey Knight in genestock. Leading to their librarians having massively higher survival rates than their normal marines back when normal marines existed for them, and thus leading to the normies being phased out.

Their dream gun would be the Psilencer of the Grey Knights, AKA a gun that shoots psyker power.

(To put it another way - every step of interpreting the roles that birthed the Falcons required me to decide how something like this could possibly exist and be overstrength without utterly straining disbelief or just never doing anything.)

I'd like to see this cult, though I guess you're still working on it.
