CHESS MAFIA

Damn, was hoping for more of a bloodbath to have gone around and removed some noise, particularly sonce Cyri was a town lean to me.

For now at least my towncore is Shalmoa, Nictis, and Logos. Not touching them for awhile and I'll likely be dead by the time that would come up.

Rosen, Usili, and Nemo are my remaining 3 town leans. They could get a side eye and drop today but they're not the main group I'm planning to focus in on today.

That would be DGuy, Scia, Comi, QT, meso, hugh, and 99. These are the bottom 7 in my book and I think there are probably 2 white army members here minimum and maybe all 3 with a bit of luck.

We're in a very good position now, we just have to use it and push forward today.

Yeah, quite pleased we got Even day 1. I had no focus to concentrate at the end there, for probably obvious reasons, and wasn't expecting much out of day 1 regardless, but eliminating a scum godfather as potent as Evenstar is a major boon.

What are you talking about?

Huh. So either the queen is not scum, or they knew he was a rook-
No, wait. He could have also bodyguarded someone, or had a kill deflected onto him by a knight. Still, at least this happened while we (probably) have a pawn to absorb it still alive?
Candid thought here, this post feels fake

I'll be honest and say I care far more about functionally clearing 4 people including myself. Since Day 1 had Nictis being one of the main people pushing blame onto Evenstar past where distancing would be necessary (his vote was late enough that calling it either way is a mistake), Shalmoa was who Evenstar was gunning for and helped vote her out, and Logos was the person who gave the Evenstar vote momentum. Before they joined it was looking likely that Shalmoa and I's votes wouldn't be enough but they swung it in a way that Logos should never do onto a teammate.

So these 3 ultimately come down to a lot of their interactions and eod not making sense as a partner since bussing and sussing partners so heavily on such a divided Day 1 is a mistake.

Since people are saying it, I also had a boring night! I didn't expect one but I was technically first voted, so it could have happened.

The coincidence of a rook getting hit twice does make me think there was a deflect or bodyguard going, but... that doesn't tell us that much, right? If it was a deflect, we don't really know why they deflected that way or who they were, and if it was Cyricubed guarding someone, we don't know who the intended target was either. So hm.

To expand a bit, the Queen bit feels completely disconnected from the Rook/Knight bit. It feels like two separate posts jammed into one so someone else doesn't call QTess out for ignoring the latter scenarios.

Well, this is an interesting result, and I'm pretty firm in my suspicion for -Rosen at this point. Beyond him flipping to No Lynch after stating a preference to lynch someone when the vote began to shift to Evenstar, he has acted as a Knight tonight, deflecting the Queen's blade to Cyricubed. To be utterly and overwhelmingly clear:

I'm hardclaiming that I am the Black Queen, and that I attempted to kill -Rosen last night. My blade was not intercepted by Cyricubed.

Question as you will, but my vote lands here, and I do not expect to be argued off of it:
[X] Vote -Rosen

Take your vote off me right now.

You didn't want to question him first?

ngl, a post like this makes me want to vote you as well.

I will note that while Rosen's eod was far from perfect its one that I would not call particularly damning either.

He had signaled that he would be open to not voting someone up earlier in the day and it was a hectic enough eod that I could easily understand him getting nerves regarding it.

Take your vote off me right now.
I will request a significantly harder argument than that, and one that I do not expect to materialize. If king be ye, reveal it now. If Terrabrand made a mistake, call it.

I have my suspicions, and I have the result of my night action. My vote will not move easily.
You didn't want to question him first?
Perhaps I could have. My first instinct was to sit on this and wait for contradictions to pop up.

But I'm pretty confident here, and it's been a long week. Call this high pressure questioning if you will, or the result of second-guessing myself, but I think I have it right here. And if not, we should still be able to get interesting information from it and the ensuing night actions.

I'm really not a fan of this play happening only half an hour into the day, Logos, if you're also saying that you don't expect this wagon to evaporate.

Give a reason for it, I'm not sheeping you for self pres being your highest priority as a knight.

Why would you be voting him either? What about specifically Cyri being deflected to is enough to make you vote Rosen up? I had Cyri as a town lean off of his eod but it wasn't a specifically clean one, it was open to interpretation and I could at least see him as a reasonable deflect target (even if there were clear better ones).

This is also directed to you somewhat as well @Logos

Anyway yeah I'm a Knight but this was a pretty wasted claim and I'm pretty irritated about it, but let me lay out my thought process for my action last Night so you at least have my perspective on the matter.

As far as I can tell Cyricubed has no really clear progression on Evenstar during Day 1, unless I missed something completely. At that stage, my thought process is that if anyone on the ending Evenstar wagon is scum, my best guess is Cyri, specifically because of my perception that he doesn't have a progression, yet his vote ended up there anyway.

Pair that with the general assumption that any protection is going to go primarily to Pawn and Nictis, frankly because they are perceived as greater threats than I am, and I'm left in a situation where I can potentially kill two birds with one stone, deflecting to Cyricubed, who I gained a new suspicion of during the Night phase. Obviously that didn't really work because he turned out to be Black Rook, but I think my motivation for doing so is pretty justified in this case.
