Cat and Mouse (Legend of Five Rings)

@Alectai
The only thing I see is Ryota and Yuuki. That is...I'm not saying you need to make complete CharSheets for them too, but a "How did Kazuki meet these people, their basic personalities are..." would be appreciated. Unless you'd prefer them to be Mystery Boxes, to be filled up by the GM's benevolence (or lack thereof ;) ).

It helps me work the "Allies" into the game so they aren't just 6 Sunk Exp Points on your sheet, you dig? The same goes for anyone planning on taking Advantages or Disadvantages like Sworn Enemy, True Love, Blissful Betrothal, Bitter Betrothal, Dependent, etc.

Obviously, people taking the "Secret Love" and "Unknown Enemy" Disadvantages don't need to worry about that.

@Wade I was thinking if I should add the idea about the sibling in there or not but I think that will depend on the amount of other NPCs that we gather.
And it seems a number of people will take bentens blessing. while I will also take the genetic crane disadvantage.

@Alectai the scouts are still using gajin pepper at this time as we are in the hantai era.

Technically it's the Daidoji Harrier elite who use the gaijin pepper, not every Taki, Daigoro, and Habetsu who makes it through Scout School.

Especially if they don't take "Forbidden Knowledge: Gaijin Pepper". :p

Yeah but it was a idea for him to get something to spend more XP on.

And well having a ronin sibling would help with the problem of someone fighting my duels for me .

Big ol' edit, more character info and changed a lot of my questions to first person.

Btw, I assume that I do not get the 4 XP that comes with this normally?
It also does not count against the 10 XP limit.

Just so you know, as a Major Clan samurai, you getting a ronin to fight your duels for you is most likely going to create more problems than it solves.
Well if I remember it right as a bastard she isn|t able to become a member of the clan , especially if her fathers wive is against it and she is of equal or higher rank

You're still using a ronin (or trying) to fight duels. Good luck with getting that past a daimyo or the Kakita. :p

Right, I've updated my character sheet now to reflect the style guide and do the questions and so on. Hope you like it.

They're... Friendly Rivals is a good term for it. It's nothing so crude as a shadow war, but when three "Covert Ops" agents end up stuck in the same castle for a while, with nothing else to do and no real skill in the court, you often go and do things like challenge the others to hunting contests, and then because everyone involved is a horrible cheat, it turns into a prank war as much as it's trying to hunt the target.

You do this to each other over the course of a few months, and eventually it becomes a friendly game of oneupmanship between capable scouts. Who take the time to get together whenever they're in the same neighbourhood and start swapping stories, and generally accomdating each other when possible, because when you get right down to it, nobody actually wants to get themselves killed, and it's just considered good sense to be buddies with the guys most likely to catch you, because then you're more likely to get ransomed off instead of executed if you get caught.

I don't have personalty specifics in mind for them though.

I'm tempted to roll Heritage, but what if I roll something terrible? Aaaaaaaaaaaa.

... oh fine! :D What's life without risk, right?

Done. Can someone tell me what this is pls?

Your ancestor ignored his duty to the Crane and followed a personal quest to a different school in another clan. He made
allies for your family but his obsessive nature has been passed down to you. You may take the Different School Advantage
for two less points, but you have the Driven Disadvantage.

That's actually really good for this Campaign. You can take bascially any School you like for 1 XP.

Ack, but I'm happy with the Doji courtier school, so all I get is the Driven disad. Oh well. :D

Driven isn't bad, I once made a Matsu Beastmaster with Driven: Cartography. She'd bound into foreign courts to look at all the pretty maps followed by a pack of lions. ;)
