Eh I'm sure Extra Gawain won't be as bad as Gilgamesh at ruling, pretty sure Gawain didn't go around deflowering ladies at their own wedding night.

Gawain is Artoria's nephew and has pulled regent a couple of times whenever Saber's been away and needed someone to fill in the throne. It's mentioned in Extra.
Looked this bit up again, it's less holding down the fort and more pulling political body double apparently. It's mentioned in Extra Materials, which sadly hasn't been fully translated and I can't into moonspeak for Gawain's section.

No, because he'd be deflowing their daughters instead :V:
Gawain said:
I have no problem as long as they're younger than me. Of course, I'm not referring to their spirit, but rather their physical body.

Great, something else I missed.

I'm just going to stand over here in shame and try and figure out how to reconcile this with my pre-existing plans.

Uh...

Maybe I'll just put this little piece of Canon in the same folder as 'Gawain is a pedophile' and 'Grand Order Boudica,' and ignore it.

Also btdubs Gilgamesh is objectively the best king because he put humanity on the path to greatness and achieving their own greatness on their own without no stupid gods, and when Merlin tried to pull off the exact same thing with Artoira it all went horribly, horribly wrong.

This is why Saber is the most hilarious shit to Gil and why he can't help but be amused every time he sees her; she's the stupid, shitty joke that just keeps giving and giving. :V

It's...actually kinda an important detail because it plays into why he's a colossal doormat who sucks Leo's dick constantly even when he really shouldn't because it'd be better for Leo's development not to. I mean, it really shouldn't change anything either because Morgana still shafted the entire kingdom over and ruined everything in Gawain's eyes just as much as Lancelot did; it's just that Lancelot is extra double personal because he fucked his uncle's wife and killed his brothers. That's like going above and beyond to aggravate someone right there.

Edit: Basically, Morgana's objectively evil and terrible to all the Knights of the Round and they'd all probably hate her and want her dead, but Lancelot's offended and pissed off Gawain on a deep and personal level that only L33t-tier Kotomine Trolls can accomplish on a good day.

Gil or Saber? Both are shitty kings to me, the only true answer is clearly Broskander. And the only good Arthurian character is Merlin, who's probably the anti-christ taking the form of a ridiculously cute critter.

Problem is, to make it work, I need to make massive changes to this Quests backstory. The easiest way would be to re-introduce Morgause, but that still requires an explanation as to why Morgon doesn't care about her and all of that.

Hm... Actually, I could have Morgause be an illegitimate child of Uther, who was hidden in order to prevent any controversy, and then just have Merlin tell Arturia and Gawain that they're related later on.

And the only good Arthurian character is Merlin, who's probably the anti-christ taking the form of a ridiculously cute critter.

Not Nasu Merlin, who knew what Saber was doing by being an inhuman King, and cheered her on every step of the way.

She's basically an estranged family member in actual Arthurian Lore so whatever. Like, a quick wiki-walk that she's related on the mother's side and not through Uther, so she didn't really have a shot at the throne.

Gilgamesh is objectively correct because he can see into the future and determine the best method to rule over the people. He also recognizes that only humans can rule and lead humans and thus why he goes out of his way to distance himself from them while also setting them up to lead themselves and have a standard to judge themselves by. His kingdom also lasted longer than either Broskander or Saber and the effects of his rule continue on into the modern era and in fact set the foundation for the Age of Man.

Saber, who was created to be the Perfect King and preserve Britian's current state failed to do either and was ultimately doomed from the start because Merlin's an inhuman monster who sees people like we see chickens and falls into the trap that Gilgamesh mentions of 'only humans can lead humans'.

AUO is better than all, you just lack the vision to comprehend it. :V

Listen man, you can't deprive someone of their hard earned, painstakingly worked for, free-range chickens and veal.

Don't hate the farmer, hate the fate of being the farm animal; pig. :V

Ender. Icyfyre. Not only is this a highly debateable point, this is also completely the wrong place to have it. Unless Gil shows up, can you two take talk of him to the Type Moon thread?

Eh, it's not too bad. As long as it doesn't take up more then two or three pages, all the off-topic conversation does is inflate the page count, and thus, my ego. :V

Swear keeping Artoria's extended family straight requires a flow chart.
Fucking Arthurain Lore needs a goddamn flowchart, man. I had like a five hour conversation on the differences between the earlier Celtic versions with a co-worker of mine who was a pagan and the later versions with all the Christianity changes. It's pretty mind boggling.

Only five hours? Ive spent WEEKS reading through different versions of the same story. King Arthur is the biggest clusterfuck of literature ive seen, and school forced me to read Shakespeare.

[X] Reinforce your body. Gawain won't expect you to respond by punching him in the face, and his confusion should buy time for the other Servants to shake off the blindness.
Huh I forgot to vote apparently.

Because why not?

Actually, don't take it to the Type-Moon thread. It just got out of that debate. Actually, don't have that debate at all: it doesn't end well.

And this could all be avoided if the black team weren't all embodiments of paranoia and actually communicated with each other, but then mages.

Just a warning, since I saw someone saying that Gawain was going to punch them:

He's still holding Excalibur Galatine. If he gets in close, chances are, he's probably going to try and stab you.

10- [] Reinforce your body. Gawain won't expect you to respond by punching him in the face, and his confusion should buy time for the other Servants to shake off the blindness

1-[] Use your Magecraft to hold him. He may have Magic Resistance, but a sudden wall should slow Gawain down

2-[] Get behind Gawain's Master. Use her as a human shield.

1-[] Nope the fuck out of there: Dematerialize and phase through the floor.
-[] Don't remember to say hi to Gawain. You are old friends after all.

So, everyone wants to punch Gawain in the face.

...Are you sure?
